Who: Zefiris, Rion (open to Asgard)
Where: Zefiris’s room, room 203 in Asgard
When: Her second evening in Asgard (July 6?)
Rating: PG
Warnings: None, except the breaking of the laws of computer science (probably)
Summary: While Maria is out bonding with the girls, Zefiris prepares to do some hardcore technical upgrades for Asgard.
Once Maria had left the room, Zefiris had arranged two chairs next to the largest table in the room and begun the preparations for Rion’s arrival. Her search of the room had proved fruitful: she had found a soldering iron, wires, pliers, and other supplies that would prove useful in the future. She moved the tools, placing them beside the components of three game systems and a television that already graced the table.
Zefiris stood back, surveying her work surface. Deeming it a sufficient start, she picked up her journal. The leather-bound book weighed heavily in her hand; the thoughts plaguing her would need an escape soon, preferably to the confidential safety of the page.
She looked around the room, feeling uneasy. Upon her return from phase space, Zefiris had craved the presence of life; thousands of years alone did that to a person (or AI in her case). Perhaps some plants would help.
She placed the journal onto her nightstand, picking up a device that she had created during Maria’s earlier foray to the ballroom. The disk fit in the palm of her hand; pressing the button on the side caused a hologram to appear. Zefiris’s normally cold expression softened. A foot-tall image of Shannon Casull stood in her hand. This was her favorite image of him: stance relaxed and a soft smile gracing his lips.
It was no substitute for the real person, but it would ease the wait.
