Malfunction Days
Because it deserved a seperate post from Places of Interest.

Malfunction Days

Another thing the cast will soon discover is the realm's instability. It's ability to change and grow on its own, as well as to suit God or Satan's purposes, has also led to the occasional "malfunctions" that befall the realm. These malfunctions are actually because of God and Satan both trying to change something about the realm at the same time. On a day of malfunction, something about the realm's usual state has changed temporarily, though everything will return to normal the next day (or week, should it last that long.) These go on regardless of when or where a tournament or contest is being held.

As a helpful note, when dates are mentioned, please consider them loosely! Story-wise the malfunction days will last for only a day (or however long the M.D. is stated to last) but the dates of the real world are only to be considered a rough timeline, not the one within the story. The real life dates will be used to state malfunction days only so that players will know when a M.D. officially begins. Any journal posts/threads started that day are to bear the effects of the M.D. You may also backdate threads or posts to react to an event you missed due to being busy or because you and another player wanted your characters to interact during that time. Just don't do it if it's a month or two later, okay? Heheh.

Announcements for the upcoming malfunction days of the month shall be included here and whenever it changes, an OOC announcement and/or (if desired) an email will be sent out to the players. Should you desire email notification of M.D. date changes, please comment to this post!

Upcoming Malfunction Days
The first set of Malfunction Days are less crazy than some of the future ones will be, but it's to get the feel of the Malfunction Day events down.

May

May 1st - 8th: Featherfall Week
For an entire week, the only "weather" the realm has is the constant, beautiful cascade of feathers from far, far above.

May 22nd: Raining Food Day
Pastries and other foods fall from the sky.

May 31st: Animal Cuteness Overload Day
The realm is suddenly filled with swarms of cute, adorable creatures of varying shapes, sizes, and species.

June

June 14th: Bodyswitch Day
If your character has ever wanted to try living in someone else's shoes, today is it! Characters wake up in the body of another character! Their personalities remain the same, but they're in the wrong bodies! What will we do?! The moderator will assign the body switches due to the need of every character getting a switch, but any suggestions or possible requests are welcomed.

June 20th: Questions, Questions, So Many Questions Day
No matter what, everyone speaks in questions! What can we do about that? I'm not sure, what do you think? I can't think of anything, maybe we should ask someone else? ...Sure?

Any future suggestions for Malfunction Days are always welcome, no matter how silly or serious! Just comment on this entry with suggestions.

I have a few ideas for malfunction days.

Broadway Day - Characters for seemingly no reason what so ever burst out into song and dance, and it always happens at some of the most inappropriate moments.

Power Switch Day - We're/'ve having/had a body switch day. There should be a day where characters powers are switched around.

Memory Theater Day - For some reason characters on this day are projecting some of their strongest memories, and the other characters are able to view them.

Opposite Day - Character's act the complete opposite of how they normally are. Morally inclined people will become the most immoral people ever, and puppy kickers will become puppy lovers.

No Exit Day - Inspired by the play 'No-Exit'. Characters find themselves locked in a room with one person, or two people they hate the most. There's no escape from the rooms, and characters cannot die during this day.

	I vote for every single one of those Dis just said. Even though it was said sometime ago, I don't know, I never looked. Chrissy - remember the one I said? The Guardian Angel Day? I've got some weird ones to suggest;

2D day: I'm thinking Yoshi's World here.

Power Animal Day: Everyone becomes an animal that represents their physical or personality characteristics in some way, but they find that they can still talk!

Yoda Day; Speak in riddles, you must!

Animism Day: Normally inanimate objects (such as toilet bowls, forks, shoes, etc.) talk and have feelings.

Truth Day: One can speak no lies, write no lies.

Yes I have more ideas.

1. Gender switch day! - Females wake up as males, and males wake up females.

2. What's in a name day? - Characters wake up either acting like their name sake, or they wake up as the physical embodiment of their name sake.

(Example. Alessa's name means "Defender of man" so on this day she'd be going around defending everyone. But her name also means "Holy One" so she could wake up and discover that she looks like a holy person.)

3. Relive your child hood day - Characters wake up to find that they've been regressed back to their child hood.

I love all of the suggested ideas!

1. Like relive your child hood day, only they're physically children as well? I don't know if that's already implied, but it would be cute and funny. ^^

2. Blue Nipple Day: Everyone wakes up to discover that their nipples have turned blue! :D (OK, that one's more of a joke than a serious suggestion)

3. Pirate Day: All of the characters' clothing, speech, and motives change to reflect those of pirates.

4. Sesame Street Day: Somehow, everything always circles around to the alphabet or numbers.

5. Mind Reading Day: Inadvertently, characters can hear the thoughts of others.

6. Chocorock Day: The rocks all turn into milk chocolate. And the ants in CU have a total field day.

7. Peacemonger Day: The residents of CU, for one day, become total hippies.

8. Crab Day: Characters can only walk sideways, and pinch others for no truly explainable reason.

9. Serpent Revenge Day: Characters greet others by saying, "Serpent Revenge!!!" That's it. There's no serpents or revenge involved.

Fwuh. Yeah, I've had too much sugar today. XD

	Delilah and I have a special request for a sci-fi Malfunction Week. We're thinking alien conspiracies and more sci-fi tv/movie references than you can shake a stick at: abductions, little grey men, men in black, Stargates, crop circles, etc. See this for the thought process in the comments. It is a bit much and may do nothing for the plot, but it's pretty hilarious as an idea. (Reply to this)

These all look hilariously and awesomely fun! Hopefully we can take action on these soon. ^^ Meanwhile, here's a couple of other suggestions that have been dancing around in my head.

Fancy Dress Day: Halloween comes early for the day, as characters get stuck in costumes they cannot take off.

Wacky Weather Day: The chracters moods become clear as the weather around them depicts how they feel. If happy they have a little sun hovering over their head. If sad, rainclouds and downpours follow them around. The extra happy people may have a lovely rainbow to make them cheerful, but beware those in a bad mood, thunderclouds and lighting storms can't be far away.

Listen to your Heart Day: You know that feeling of something in your heart you feel strongly about that your head tells you is not a good idea, so you lock it away? Well, now your heart can finally voice itself, literally! Characters wake up with a speaker on their chests, right where that blood pumping life organ is, and have to cope with their feelings being broadcast for all to hear.
