Pick Your Poison...
Who: L
Where: The forest north of Asgard.
When: After leaving Dungeon's Delight
Rating: PG
Warnings: None. Just some good old-fashioned death plotting the sneaky way.
Summary: L prepares to go, alone, to Niflheim. Knowing Light's room number, he knows what he's going to attempt, and knows that he wants to do this in the most sinister way possible. Killing Light with a pin prick is almost as bad as being killed by a pen and notebook, after all.
L felt a bit sorry, for leaving Jazz so abruptly... but his conversations with Light were growing so convoluted that he actually felt physically tired from reading and replying to the barrage of comments.
L had been acutely fascinated by poisons ever since cyanide had swiftly killed his stepfather. No one ever suspected the five-year-old autistic child, since he'd planned it for weeks and made it look exactly like a suicide. But since he was in a strange land, devoid of most recognizable forms of poison, he'd have to rely on what he knew... and what he could discover without killing himself.
He listened for water, but knew that he was far from the sultry, cnidarian-infested waters of, say, Australia. Neurotoxic venom, he thought, would be highly appropriate for someone like Light. The hallucinations and muscle spasms could resemble insanity before the poison took full effect, and the collective attack on the nervous system would be incredibly frightening for the victim. A phytotoxin.... produced by plants... was probably his best bet.
His eye caught a flowering plant with small, spiny seed pods and white flowers. Was it Datura? Yes... yes it was. An anticholinergic poison... it would cause delirium and an inability to differentiate reality from fantasy. Close enough to a neurotoxin... it would also cause hyperthermia, tachycardia, violent behavior, photophobia... it was a godsend. He searched his suit until he found a safety pin in one of the extra folds. The suit was too big, so naturally, there would be one... he could create a rudimentary dart, like this.
Soon, he'd have it... and this would be how he'd stun, and then kill, Light Yagami.
