Got To Clear My Mind....
Who: Henry [open]
Where: Asgard
When: Day after new arrivals
Rating: PG-13 to be safe
Warning: none so far
Summary: Henry needs to clear his head and wanders down to the basement pool....

For once, Henry didn't bother taking any pictures. He'd left his camera in his room, so much going on in his mind that he just needed to take a few minutes and gather his thoughts. He wasn't used to working with so many people, with organizing people, with....

He buried his face in his hands, sitting on the edge of the elegant pool, feet in the water. It really was beautiful, like one of those Roman style pools. Or something from a high class Las Vegas casino - which, oftentimes, were the same thing, really.

A swim would clear his mind. And he'd feel better once he'd gotten his thoughts all in order. He just... needed to actually get them in order. Then he'd talk to Will and Dorian about heading out.

But...after he took a swim and felt more sure of himself.

After reading one of the many books available in the library Alessa had decided that she needed to walk around a little bit. It was during her walk around Asgard that she remembered there was a pool, and while she didn't want to go swimming she thought that just being around the water would help calm her.

It was when she arrived at the pool that she noticed Henry there. She made her way over to the pool and waved to young man, "Hi,"

(OOC: Sorry for posting at the same time as you, babe! xD)
Will almost kicked himself when he finally remembered Metatron talking about the pool downstairs. He grabbed a knife from his kitchen and slapped together a sandwich, dragging along some mayo to explain everything else. His heart racing, he closed the door on his apartment and locked it quickly before moving into Henry's. He felt a little terrible grabbing Henry's camera (the waterproof plastic cover- there it was!) and breaking into his room, but he pushed those thoughts aside as he walked down the stairs, his heart racing as he yelled at himself inside his head.

After what felt like forever, Will shouldered open the door to the pool, changing the time settings on the camera and let out a sigh of relief at seeing the younger man. "I've thought up a name. You okay to hear it?"

Supposed crisis averted, Will finally noticed Henry wasn't alone. Even better. He rocked back on his heels, greeting Alessa as well and apologising for his intrusion.

Still rather lost in thought, Henry looked up almost started at Alessa's voice.

"Oh! Uh, hi," he offered, turning to greet her. He had to look a little silly, sitting there in his trunks, head in his hands and feet in the water. He offered her a sheepish smile.

"I was just...thinking about going swimming."

And hoping that the tranquil, pretty place would help settle his hectic thoughts.

Though it looked like the pool was a pretty popular place today. But, well, these were both people Henry trusted, so...maybe he could discuss some of what he'd been thinking with them.

"Oh, hi Will." He nodded to the other man as he joined them. Oh yes, their magical lizard hunting journey. Henry was glad Will was a little better at thinking on his feet than he was. And that it looked like people were buying it. "Yeah, uh, I was just..." he trailed off, realizing it was probably pretty obvious what he was doing.

[OOC: And I believe Blythe will also be joining us! Whoo, heavenly pool party! ;D]

[I'm here! And I apologize if I post over anyone else XD]

It had been a very quiet stay in Asgard thus far, as Blythe hardly mingled (she wasn't so good at stairs and finding bedroom doors). Most communication was spent through her journal, where she learned of others through magickal sheets of self-writing paper. She had only met one or two people in person, really.

Today, Blythe was determined to change that. After her unpleasant encounter with Light and Una at the very gates to Niflheim, and the mentioning of several Asgardians that unification would be wise, she decided that stepping out of her shell was a must. And so, after a long walk in the garden, basket full of carrots and tomatoes, she returned to the house, only to hear several different voices. They were unfamiliar and she was so curious to meet her housemates.

Keeping her basket close, she felt the walls until the voices grew closer, along with the slight scent of chlorine. Even more curious, she felt along all the way to the entrance-way to the room - the pool, that was. Unsure of how to introduce herself, she leaned against the wall and listened to hear if she recognized anyone.

A few more people were arriving, but as long as the crowd stayed small Alessa would be okay.

Alessa didn't care for large crowds, and for plenty of good reasons. She walked over the Henry, and waved to the man she didn't recognize. "How are you doing, Henry?"

The water actually looked inviting, and it had been a long time since she'd gone swimming. However she wasn't in any suitable swimming clothes. But, didn't people sometimes swim in jeans and t-shirts. She shook her head, and took her shoes off. After sitting next to the edge she placed her feet in the cool water.

"Water feels good,"

Will stood there for a moment, letting the thousand and one scenarios that you can only come up with if you've been both a cop and a father wash out of his head. He knew his sudden attatchment to the younger man was a coping mechanism (he reminded Will so much of Josh), a way to get back some of the life he'd lost, but as usual, he pushed it out of his mind with ease. He raised the camera and took a quick sot of the man sitting there looking all of ten years old.

"Lizards come near pools a lot." He offered gently, toeing off his sneakers and socks and sitting down near Henry, mimicing his pose so he wasn't so alone as he nodded to Alessa, setting Henry's camera down next to him.

"Oh, uh, I don't know if you two have met outside the journals..." Henry said, scratching the back of his head. "Alessa, this is Will, Will, this is Alessa. And yeah, the water's real nice. It's been a few years since I lived somewhere with a pool. It's relaxing."

He noticed movement, against the wall. He turned his head, squinting a little.

"Um. Hi?" he called, not recognizing the woman....

For a long moment, Blythe debated slipping away, especially after they made it clear some of them were also meeting for the first time. But she noticed the lift in Henry's voice - he was the only one she was sure of, because the girl had said his name - and was sure he was calling out to her.

Leaning in, Blythe surveyed their auras quickly - all light colours: orange, blue, and violet. She was unsure of who was what, but she could tell immediately that they posed no threat. Still, she stayed back.

"Ah, I apologize - I heard voices." Her fingers thrummed the basket. "I had some carrots here for Will, and I was wondering where he was? Or if one of you could please deliver them to him for me? I would be grateful."

Will looked over at Henry's call and Will gave a small sigh of relief for the second time, standing up to walk softly towards her. "Blythe- Hi, thanks for the carrots." He spoke softly, staying where he was so he didn't disrupt her balance by trying to look at the basket.

"I'm glad you showed up, Henry, Alessa, and I were just having a chat. You could join us if you'd like."

[Should I...go? In answer? *so bad at this*]

"Yes, you're welcome." She could only say, as she realized that this was Will and Will was the one with the orange aura. How pleasant; she'd never met many orange auras.

"I will...I will stay for a moment, as I hear you were all getting better acquainted."

She slid in the room, scared because she couldn't see the pool itself. One wrong move, and she'd be drowning.

"Hello." She murmured to the others. "Do continue with you conversation."

"Yeah, we were." Will said, walking up close to her side so she could feel his body heat, trying to put her at ease so close to the pool. "Have a seat with us, I'll sit by you." He offered to her.

[I'm glad I'm not the only one, then! This should be harmless, just in case:]

Placing her basket down, Blythe smiled happily in the direction of Will's aura. "Ah, thank you so much! You are quite the gentleman."

She tucked her skirts under her and plopped down in a frilly mess by the pool's edge.

Alessa nodded at Will as a greeting. At this point the edge of the pool was becoming a popular place to be it seemed. Alessa said hello to Blythe as well, and then turned to stare at the water.

Soon she found her fingers grazing the waters surface. The cool liquid felt good against her skin, and she was close to wanting to just plunge in.

That would be rude though, wouldn't it?

"Heh, Will, if you're going to be cooking a lot, I might be over your place a lot more," Henry joked, moving over a little to make sure everyone had room. He was glad that Blythe had joined them. They should get to know each other. He knew he wasn't very good at that, but he was trying.

"Um. Was anyone else going to go swimming?" He felt a little silly, if no one else was going to.

Will looked over at Henry, feeling something fuzzy inside his chest at how the other man was finally joking with him and using his name. He looked over to Blythe, saying with a slightly loving tone noticable only to a young blind woman that Henry had made himself at home in Will's apartment and Will had made himself at home in Henry's, and they were going to dye their hair each other's color and trade places. No one would ever know the difference.

He gave Henry a wry look, slightly amused as he sighed and stood slowly so as not to upset Blythe, pulling off his jeans with an apologetic look at Alessa, leaving himself in boxers and a tee-shirt. "You should join us." He said to Alessa, slipping in and putting a hand gently on Blythe's knee. "We'll start a trend."

The chill water and company served to take away some of the ache. He was getting desperate for a drink, and he was worried it was beginning to show.

(OOC: Not even indecency can keep dear Will from the water~! He swims in defiance of the very thought.)

The smile that spread across Blythe's face was a stuttering one at first, only to be pacified by the friendly and warm intonations of those around her, especially Will's. She might not have been able to see them, but listening to their voices and sensing their body movements made things so much clearer and understandable.

The auras around her moved, the orange one closest, as Will put his hand on her knee and slipped into the water. The violet aura - she assumed was Henry - was doing much the same. But the blue aura - Blythe was determined this was Alessa - seemed to be hunched in thought and wondering.

"I think I will stay at the edge," Blythe murmured. "This dress would surely sink me."

There were two men swimming, and one girl who was just sitting at the edge. Alessa let out a sigh as deep inside her mind a battle of IDs argued over of all things- going for a swim. One side of her wasn't sure about just plunging in without a swimsuit. The otherside wanted to say "Screw it," and just jump right in the pool.

She closed her eyes, and leaned forward. Water gently came into contact with head, and then neck, shoulders, until eventually the 21 year old was now in the pool. Using her arms and legs she swam under the water to the other side of the pool and then emerged.

"You're right, Will," Alessa responded.

The water was perfect. What else could be expected? Henry had to laugh just a little as Alessa slipped into the pool, fully clothed. He didn't blame her. It was too nice a pool not to use. And, well, it wasn't like she could just do what Will had done.

He wondered what they looked like, the four of them, to someone watching.

But it was...nice. To relax like this. Maybe it wasn't doing any to solve any of the problems running around his mind, but... maybe it would let him forget them for just a little while.

"It's been a long time since I was able to do this," he admitted, ducking under the water and wiping his hair back as he came up. "Are you sure you don't want to come into the water? Um, I mean, it's not deep all over..."

Will smiled a little at the sight, relaxed by Henry's laugh. All of them looked absolutely ridiculous, and he almost wished he still had on his jeans and shoes to make it look even worse.

He watched the other two, staying close to Blythe and not moving his hand away to help her keep her bearings. Try as he might to try and be mature, he could hardly resist using his free hand (it was just sitting there, under the water, doing nothing. He couldn't have that.) to splash some water on Henry when he came back up.

"Soggy's right, I could stay right with you."

Blythe internally debated for a long moment. She was a blind woman who'd never been in water deeper than that of a bathtub. While Will, Alessa, and Henry were certainly capable of keeping her from drowning herself, could she put so much trust in them?

She heard the splashing, and the hard, thoughtful expression on her face wavered. She didn't know much about Heaven or Hell, but she knew enough. And if Heaven had selected these people, then perhaps placing her faith in them and their guarantees of safety was worth the chance.

"Let me untie the outer layer of my gown." Her fingers drew away and deaftly loosened the strings at her back. The corset lifted, and after some very odd angling, she slid the decorative layer down her arms, pulling it down and off her legs. As far as she could sense, she pushed the gown and shoes back away enough from the water that the splashing couldn't bother them. Now dressed in a light cotton slip over some long underwear, Blythe held out her hands. "If you take me to the most shallow part of the pool, I will do well on my own."

Alessa couldn't help but giggle at the site. Almost everyone was swimming, except for Blythe, but it was obvious that she was about to head into the water as well. Alessa decided to start floating on her back, and sort of became lost in her own world of thought and wonder.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Henry was glad. He brought his hands up, shying away a little as Will splashed him - and trying not to splash Alessa with his sudden movement. He hoped he hadn't.

"Uh, you know, that's not fair," Henry pointed out, laughing a little. He wasn't used to this, and wondered if he sounded strange. "I can't splash you back, Blythe would be caught in friendly fire."

Will pushed Blythe's clothes a little farther away from the edge as well, taking her hands gently into his own heavily calloused ones, leading her slowly to the shallow end of the pool, amused at the sight of Alessa on her back floating around and Henry trying to avoid getting wetter than he already was.

It was an odd move, but Henry hadn't become angry with him. Will hoped to get his team mate more at ease, hoping the brunet would have some fun in the water. "That's why I did it. If Blythe splashes you though, I guess I'm fair game." His voice was roughening again. His little panic attack over Henry's safety and all the talking he'd been doing were getting to him again, and without something to drink besides chlorinated pool water, his ability to talk was beginning to fade.

The water hadn't been as cold as she had expected, but Blythe certainly did not adapt immediately. If it hadn't been for Will's hands guiding her to the shallow end, which she felt soon enough, she would have probably climbed back out. Still, as he helped her over, she watched the auras of Henry and Alessa bobbing in the water. When Alessa floated on her back, Blythe marveled at the 'flying' aura.

Secretly, she wanted to talk to Alessa, as the other woman was the only person she'd really spoken to about her home world. But it appeared Alessa was the sort of person who would prefer to approach another, rather than be approached, so Blythe remained only thoughtful of it. As for Will, she mistook the tenseness in his voice for a bit of plotting, and realized that she was getting involved in a splash fight.

Releasing one of her hands, she splashed a light scoop of water at Will, and smiled in the direction of Henry. "I suppose this makes him fair game."

When Alessa got bored of floating on her back, she quickly adjusted herself so she was now upright, and keeping herself afloat. It was then that she saw the splash fight that was forming. Alessa smiled inwardly, swam over to where the action was, and proceeded to splash water on both Henry and Will.

She giggled a little bit. She had to admit that what she'd done was actually a lot of fun, and best of all she wouldn't have to worry about them doing something to her. Like, say, beating her up, and then shoving her in a closet.

Will's mouth dropped open as out of the blue a part of his blond hair was darked and plastered to the side of his face. A breathless laugh took him by surprise as he turned to point out such an unladylike betrayal of his trust and overall gentlemanlyness. Mouth still open like a fish, Alessa's sneak attack caught him clear in the face and Will sputtered ungainly, laughing again as he pushed at the water with one hand at Alessa before scooping up some water with it.

"Brace yourself," he said to Blythe, "that pretty hair's gonna get wet with the rest of us." He tipped his curled hand down on top of her hair, letting some water stream gently onto her head.

{Fey told me to keep splashing!}

Blythe would have shrieked had Will not given her any warning, and rather gave a gasp of shock. The cool water poured down her cheeks and ran down her neck, in turn igniting goosebumps everywhere. With the surprise gone, she could only laugh and splash harder at Will and Alessa, who were closest. Within the minute, she knew she was soaked.
