Christmas Shopping With L
Since this is L's first time consciously celebrating Christmas, he has resolved to take the practical route and get people what he perceives they need. Unfortunately, such an approach has a lot of potential to make people angry at him. XD

Here is a tentative list of L's bold choices for what he wants to procure for his team mates and/or friends. Except possibly in Kain's case, he has nothing but the best intentions, so if your character Is of the understanding variety, they might recognize that. ^^

1. Misa- Webster's Concise Dictionary
2. Frank- Tropical Plants and sugar-water (for the butterfly)
3. Kain- An economy-size box of Sir Lance-a-Lot condoms (size small)
4. Blythe- Before it's Too Late: Recognizing Mr. Wrong
5. Maria: You're Worth it, Too: A Woman's Guide To Moving On Past Heartbreak, A Techno Dance CD
6. Mitch: Anger Management For The Explosive Adolescent
7. Dorian: Optimism: The Gift That Takes Care Of Itself
8. Sal: Fat Chance: The Hefty Woman's Guide To Losing Weight and Punishing Self-Hate!
9. Henry: How To Assert Yourself: A Leader's Guide To Constructive Control
10. Eileen: From Vanilla To SHOCK-A-LOT! Spicing Up Your Romantic Life (Misa's recommendation for the stumped L)
11. Tohru: Holiday Cooking For the Gourmet Afficianado
12. Morana: Earplugs, The Indispensible Natural Disaster Survival Guide

He also wants to get things for Jazz, Schro, and Mello, but he's still thinking about those. Suggestions are welcome, and please let me know if some of these gifts would be unreasonably offensive to your character, even by L's impressive standards. He likely won't deliver any of these personally, but will leave them, unwrapped and minimally labeled, near the people they're meant for. Outside doors and such. Oh, and as far as I know, these are all fictional book titles.

Awww! Dorian will love his book! He's going to Emptiness tomorrow (it'll be in a thread with Sydonai) to get glitter and all sorts of crafty things to make his cards extra special. He'll be so tickled by L's present. <3

Blythe will be confused, naturally. And the Kain one makes me lol, because neither he nor Blythe know what condoms are. xDD All those Earth products hahaha. Misa's made me laugh too.

<3 I've told you, like, a hundred million times how much I love Dorian, right? Dorian's card will mean a lot to him.

As for Blythe and Kain... basically, it's meant to be a "subtle" way to discourage them from proceating? XD Like, "Kain... whatever you do, don't contribute to the gene pool!" He's terribly roundabout, but with the instructions he'll include (pictographs in the style of cave drawings), the message should not be lost. Brandi should be proud of just how much Kain gets under L's skin, LOL.

Sal's gift will be a trick to get to her... any suggestions?

Haha, aww, and it means more to me every timem you say it. xD <33 I'm glad. He'll be personalizing them, so people know just how much they each mean to him.

lmao! I'm sure Brandi is very proud. xD And oh, god, I can't even picture the pictographs, because it's just so damned hilarious!! We'll have to see if the two of them get the hint. I know it will, but how long will it last? lol

Ohhh...anything that gets Sal back for all her jokes...hmmmm, you could get her Grey Poupon, you could upload a virus into her cameras, you could get her a book on Etiquette! If you're thinking about a book, there was one I saw, it was........oh!: True Selves: Understanding Transsexualism - For Families, Friends, Coworkers, and Helping Professionals by Mildred L. Brown and Chloe Anne Rounsley. I don't know if that'll work, but it's there for ideas. xD

<3 I liked L's idea for Sal about weight loss, but I think he'll probably do something with the cameras as well, if that's OK. I'm thinking that during the time he's Christmas shopping, he can upload something so Sal can't seeee him. XD If that's all right with you, of course. ^_^

As far as Jazz is concerned, even a screw diver would be an interesting present for him.

There wasn't a similar practice on Cybertron, so he's a bit clueless about the custom when it comes to being on the receiving end.

Awww, L will get Jazz something better than a screwdriver. XD It could be something to do with one of the TV shows that Jazz likes to reference... Darkwing Duck, the complete series?

L is also going to get Vader something, though I forgot to mention it: cough drops.

Oh man, that's hilarious. xD I'm...really not quite sure how Kain is going to react to that, since he'll be able to figure out what they're for with L including instructions and all. He'll likely go from confused, to shocked, to enraged in quick succession, then try to decide on revenge of some sort.

Lol! I would like to see that quick succession, as it would be entertaining and adorable. <3 Kain is nowhere near as stupid as L thinks (and says, and treats him like) he is, but I'm glad that you think it's funny. :D

Sadly, L will make sure to be nowhere nearby when Kain gets the package. He won't even leave his name, but it'll probably be fairly obvious. :)

XD I thought of a cardboard box or paper/plastic bag (but it would be hard to find one as big as he is. O_o;) ... [Entertain a cat boy for hours! :'D]

Ah... I can't think of anything off hand, but toys might not be a good thing for him (in his head, it may try to eat him or something if he takes it in giry room. XD) Perhaps music or a movie of some sort?

If L does get him something, he'd probably try to get L an object that might be useful or what he hopes as kind, perhaps a book/figurine of foxes or animals in general not the dead rat that says 'I hunted & killed this just for j00! ♥ :DDD You like it?' as his instincts wish to say. XD

Lol! The image of Schroedinger getting L a dead rat is AMAZING. He would understand the sentiment and not be too horrified, especially with an understanding of Schro's origins and nature.

One thing I thought of was a chess set, if Schro likes chess. Since L is wary around non-humans he tends to be more cautiously diplomatic, and unless Schro told him himself that he wanted one , L probably would be afraid that a cat toy would offend him. ;)

She is nice, but she's only human, so there's a part of her that will be wishing she could model the lingerie for Henry... XD

It would be a very embarrassing conversation if Misa figured out she isn't actually sleeping with Henry at this point. It would be funny though.

Lol, awww... L was never good with appropriate levels of sympathy. But he likes to criticize people and sees Christmas as this WONDERFUL opportunity to correct the flaws he perceives in the people he knows. :) Mostly that consists of the creatively titled self-help books he's handing out like candy. :/ But he's genuinely sad for Maria, so hopefully it won't seem too creepy or critical. :)

Ohhhh dear. L is lucky Morana is too naive and sheltered to understand her presents. Also lucky that she'll feel honoured to be given anything at all and be utterly thankful for the gesture. I do worry that might make L overestimate his skill in gift picking. XXD But still, they're all so funny. ^^~

He'll be like the superhero who feels great about his work and thinks that he's doing a great job, when he's really messing things up horribly. XD I'm sure that someone will let him know about his knack for pissing people off, even when he's trying to be nice (while indulging his need to tell people what they need to improve at. God does he wish Kain knew what a Darwin Award was.)

Poor, dear Morana. L will feel so good about it, for a little while, anyway. :)
