Upcoming Blythe Trouble

Again, kinda wordy, so that's why it's under a cut...

But! Okay, story time:

In Neverwas, Blythe's home world, Humans and Demons are kind of in a reversal of what we see them as. Demons were the ancient species - the intelligent, peaceful kind who eventually have reached a point of near extinction. It's the Humans that are the trouble makers - they live by instinct and law, which doesn't make sense until explained, really.

Humans in this world live by a strict natural order. They don't do 'what they do' because they're told to by some higher power, but because it's in their blood. They don't think. They don't question. They simply do. And this is evident in population control. The Humans of Neverwas hardly ever surpass the age of 50. If they do, it's a miracle. There are several major holidays throughout the year where the Humans sacrifice family members because they can't die naturally. The only way a Human can die is by being killed. This is also to help make room for newborns. If a family adds a new child to its litter, then another family member must be sacrificed off at the next holiday.

Blythe is different. Blythe and her siblings are unique because they are the ONLY half-breeds in all of Neverwas. Her mother was born Human and, by chance, stumbled upon some books. She read them. She began to question and to think and was eventually kicked out of her home and town. Her mother met her father, who was one of the last 13 Demons. They fell in love, they had three kids - Tarrigen, Arachne, and Blythe herself.

But just because her mother was kicked out didn't mean her instincts left. Blythe's parents died when she was 4, so she was spared most of it, but her brother and sister had to be present when her mother had seizures and fits, particularly around these holidays. Her fits grew so bad at times, Arachne and Blythe had to be removed from the household.

The Human genes affected all three siblings. Tarrigen's temper grew as the years continued, and he was oftentimes as physically abusive as he was mentally. Arachne grew quiet over time and developed a taste of sado-masochism, quietly slaughtering woodland creatures and sometimes small children and then turning their corpses into 'art projects'. Blythe grew up relatively 'normal', until she was abandoned at 11.

Okay, so this is the part where it's actually RELATIVE to this community. While Blythe didn't pick up on any of the failed personality traits of a Human, the instinct is still there. However it is diluted. From the ages of 15 to 35 (the prime years for Humans), she has to suffer the same fits her mother faced. But only on New Years Eve.

Basically, Blythe has the overwhelming desire to kill humans. To bring order. Order includes finding a human, carving him or her open, removing the organs, lighting them on fire, and then turning the remaining open husk into a cradle - for any future children she may have.

Yeah.

The bulk of this desire for order will be the night OF New Years. Once midnight passes, she'll be okay, but until then - the longer she is kept from killing, the more out of control she'll become. Sometime around the middle of December, the urge to sacrifice will start. Blythe will start eyeing humans in Asgard first - Morana, L, Mitch, anyone. She'll be trying to talk to them - particularly the more gullible ones - and attempting to convince them that:

'Hey, Morana, you don't like your powers, right? Maybe we should just yank out your vocal cords! Think about all the good that'll do for you. And while we're talking about vocal cords, your lungs only make things worse...'

But, you know, she'd do it in her friendly galpal voice of reason. Because since Blythe doesn't intend to tell anyone about this (except perhaps Kain if they're still together and someone else close to her), you know, it would be weird to pinpoint it. In the beginning, at least.

So yes, I know this was a looooooooong explanation to something so SIMPLE, but I felt like I really wanted people to understand where I was coming from in this, not that I was pulling something out of my ass just for the sake of it. Especially since this is an Original Character, you know? I think sitting here and saying, 'lol my character is TOTALLY going to have a meltdown' would just make me want to take mySELF out back and shoot me.

But, ummm, yeah, thank you for reading this. ^_^

Why do I have the feeling that Vader will definitely understand her special brand of order?

By the way, will Blythe be able to do her doctorly things while influenced by her instincts, or will that also be slightly changed?

That said... wow, your backstory for this character is really impressive. I wish I could do that with original character.

Haha, if he did, he'd be one of very few people!

Oh, yes, the instincts won't really be kicking in until early/mid-December. And even if she was doing something for Vader then, the instinct wouldn't be strong enough. She'd think about what it would be like to "mess up", but she wouldn't act on it.

You didn't get my email? D: Damnit, I hate this computer... But I'm willing to start the Blythe/Vader thread. I'll set that up tomorrow morning. ^_^

And thank you! I guess it helps that the world itself is something I created years ago, and Blythe just popped right out of it. But I'm glad it leaves a good impression. =D <3

Vader's all for order. If he didn't believe that order was the highest form of perfection he wouldn't do alot of things he's done.

You mean a mail that should have arrived after I sent my reply to you? Nope, that I didn't get. Thanks for the thread starting by the way.

Always welcome. If I were creative enough to build my own world, I wouldn't make these elaborate interpretations of fandom 'verses. I quite envy that, you know.

Ah, this is very true! Well, she certainly won't tell him about her New Year's tradition, but if you feel like he, over time, would notice what's up with her, feel free to have him point it out. She'll deny it, though. xD

Yeah, that one. But yeah, no prob!

Ahaha. <3 If it helps any, it takes years for me to develop these worlds. I tell ya - if there's a spark in there, you seize it and hang on to it. You never know what comes out of it. ^^

Oh, wow... O_O

Consider L exploitable. He'll want to see her, of course, wondering if Kain is giving her trouble and causing her to act strangely, and that could be interesting.

That's going to be tricky but very fun, too! Because if Kain and Blythe are still together, Kain'll be her first target because he's the easiest to access. And also, he'll know that something's up if she tells him about the whole Tradition beforehand.

Still, this won't stop her from going, 'I miss you, we never talk anymore.' and as New Years gets closer: 'I miss you so much I can't stand it. Meet me at midnight in the greenhouse New Years Eve.' She'll do all that she can at that point to have a backup plan relying solely on L if everything else fails.

He...yeah, he could be in trouble. xD;;

He'd do anything for her, so, yeah, he could be. X_X

Now I'm sort of looking forward to this, in a morbid sort of way, lol. It'll freak him out horribly, but he'll really, really want to help.

Aha, yeah, this is definitely NOT going to be a walk in the park for anyone involved, that's for sure. ;_;

And me too. I'm seeing it as a challenge, as I've never had a character go through anything like this before. But, like I said, I feel awful for her and the others.

You'll do amazingly, I'm sure of it. No matter what, her friends will stick by her, and she'll make it through OK! You do a wonderful job playing your characters, as a general rule, so it'll be really interesting to watch how this pans out.

Frank still wants to learn healing from Blythe so he may be in trouble too.

Well, thanks! xD Luckily, I'm channeling this into the other story I'm writing.

Haha, oh, he would have been in trouble anyway just because he's human/mortal. But it's true, if he spends any more amount of time around Blythe than, say, Lina, he'll become a bit more of a focus.

Your scrawny ass returns to me! *_*

=D And, haha, yeah, we'll even have You Raise Me Up playing in the background. It'll be like a destiny piece.

But seriously now - I'm still in the planning stages of how this whole night'll go down. If you want in or don't want in, feel free to say. xD I know Kain and, if Lexi wants, L will be involved, but I do foresee some running around with a knife.

I know bb.

That just played in my head like a really bad parody of a B-rated horror flick. All that's missing is the obligatory scene in which Blythe seduces Alessa, and they have hot kinky lesbian sex. Right there on the sacrificial altar.

-slaps self-

Ooh, you know I'm gonna want in! :D

You either read my mind or you have a remarkably strong sense of smell~ I picture cherubim appearing mid-coital. They watch in awe.

...Why do you do this to me... XD

Well, good! Good fucking good! I'm glad I got this up early enough so now I have over a month to plan this. Maybe Alessa can be the other person Blythe tells her secret to.

Because, I'm amazing? XD

Just kidding!

Ooh that would be nice. Alessa would be all, "So on New Year's eve you're going to turn into a psycho bitch, and kill humans? Hnnn -thinking-"

How romantic~

I was going to say, 'because you're devious' but 'awesome' totally fits that too!

Blythe: Well, you don't have to put it that way...;_; Honestly, this might sound a little sad, but Alessa's probably the closest female friend Blythe has.

I love that you're bringing more of Blythe's backstory into the RP this way! =D You have the most fascinating ideas, and this one totally sends chills up my spine.

You do realize when I read that example I nearly choked right? O_O And my brother who's playing Gears of War 2 across the room actually turned away the bloody gory fun to stare at me as if I was an idiot.

But anyway, backstory is most awesomely creepy...or creepily awesome, I'm not sure which sounds better. XD Anyway, you have free access to this gullible and trusting girl for all purposes and exploitation. Sad thing is even if she came close to being hacked to bits by Blythe, she'd forgive her quite easily. <3

First Sal, now Blythe...I'm seeing a pattern here...Not sure if I should be flattered or frightened that they all take such 'interest' in Morana? ^^;;

[info]blind_oracle

...O: Does that mean I did a good job? I didn't mean to freak you out, though. ^^; The example just popped in my head.

Oh thank you! Is it sad to say that I created this world out of a cluster of nightmares I had? Aw, see, Morana's a sweetie~ <3 Blythe isn't going to forgive herself for a very long time. And depending on the amount of guilt she feels, Morana's kindness will either be really good or really bad.

Lol! What can I say, my characters get around. xD Overall, I feel sorry for the humans, lol, because not only do they have to fear their enemies, they've gotta fear their friends.

It means you did an amzing job. <3~ No worries though, I have to admit that example seems all too real. XD

Aww, well I find it kinda admirable that you are able to face them in such a way. ^-^ Poor Blythe, that is a kinda good and bad thing about Morana not holding grudges, can make people feel really happy or so much worse about what they did. But anyway, if you want to use her in anyway, I'm up for discussion.

It is a scary thing, they have a lot to worry about, attacks from all sides. O_O

Oh awesome! And yeah, Blythe really is going to be trying that on Morana. xD She won't jump to the lungs immediately, but she'll give her 'medical advice' to Morana as stealthily as possible~

Thank you, that's how I try to see it. Instead of letting nightmares bother me, I channel them into stories. And yeah, exactly! Morana's feelings are full of the best of intentions, but it really could make Blythe harder on herself. Either way, we can't know for certain until that major thread, so no worries. ^^

Ooh, that could be fun! I'm planning it out all in my head, but I know you, Dis, Lexi, and Brandi seem to be the ones most interested in getting involved, and I want to encorporate all who want to. ^_^

And yes. D: I'm just glad Dorian will NEVER do anything like that, because I felt bad with just Sal going after people. Morana will start learning how to sleep with one eye open. ;_;

[info]snake_sorceress
2008-11-23 02:33 pm UTC (link)
Yush, while she's trying to learn how to control them, and has had some success, she's still shaky. So if Blythe 'inspected' her throat and told her that her voice will just get worse until she won't be able to handle it, she would be inclined to worry and believe her.

It's a good way to fight them, taking them head on so they're not as scary. And well, I suppose that's a danger of a cute character, it makes other cry whether due to being happy, sad or guilty. Can't escape those tears. X3

No worries, no matter how small, feel free to use Morana whichever way you think will work best with the overall plot, I'm happy to be a part of it. <3

No, Dorian is too sweet, and no one could stay mad at him anyway. <3~ Well, Morana might need to learn to be more on guard. Either that or she'll end up getting twitchy and sleep-scream and wake everyone else up with a mini earthquake in the middle of the night. ^^;

[info]blind_oracle

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking. I'm sure someone like Kain or something would hop in and be like, "I can't tell you what's going on, but trust me, don't take her word for it." While Blythe is all: =D

Right-o! Nightmares used to make me physically sick. Now they just make my characters sick. xD Yes, Morana's really good at setting off emotions in my characters. She's this level of goodness that either attracts them or freaks them out.

Alright. I'm so happy you'd like to get her involved! <3 I'll make some sketch plans tonight and then email around and see what everyone thinks~

Ahaha, I laughed so loud at that! I mean, I know it's not good for Morana, but that's so cute. She'd have half of Asgard poking their heads through her door. xD
