Zefiris and Rion will be tinkering with technology and hopefully fulfilling some of your Q needs. I had an idea for a device that I wanted to run by you all and then get some constructive criticism.

Since Zefiris can scan the area (and keep tabs on her D-Knight if need be), I thought that she might be able to extend it to making a GPS-type system to keep track of Asgardians' locations and possibly even health status.

There will also be a holographic map of the area, probably to be set up in a common area and connected with the aforementioned locator system. It’d be something that anyone could use (if Blythe could talk to Zefiris/Rion after this is unveiled, they could probably figure out a way to manipulate the energy projection so that Blythe could “see” it) since Metatron won’t always be here to save our butts.

The locating system would be based mainly on Zefiris’s own programming. If she’s taken out of commission for some reason, the system would stop tracking until she’s back up. Redundancy may be built into the system depending on what technology is available (I’m assuming there aren’t any GPS satellites up in this world) and what abilities are available to Asgardians that offer to help.

My major questions: Monitor health (when applicable)? Require a locator (like a bracelet or the like)?

Please let me know what you think: suggestions, questions, etc.

...L would love Zefiris and Rion forever if they did this, you know? He suggested something like it a little while back. xD <3

I think it's a great idea! The health monitor and locator parts of it sounds good, too.

I just think it's so much more cool if players do it than if Metatron does it.

And even though Metatron started fulfilling what L requested...
I think Metatron would totally get rid of the old ones for Zefiris. Hers even have a bonus feature? lol

I'm glad you both like it. R & D will commence shortly.

I looked through L's journal posts. I think we can work in a verbal signaling feature that would help prevent harm, as opposed to having the locators triggered by the person being harmed.

We're here to do what we can.

Very cool.

Something to rival Jazz' sensors... cool.

I wonder if Jazz would be annoyed or amused at Asgard creating their own sensor relay.

Sounds like a neat idea. Just wait until Jazz starts the new Star Wars project because Manhatten is just too clumsy for his taste.

In which Jazz and Zefiris are too busy trying to outdo each other, with the others being like "where the hell are they?!" during the Trials.

Why do I now have the picture of Itchy and Scratchy in my head, with the both staring at each other and behind each of them a really huge cannon aimed at the other?

Good question. Who would be the mouse and who the cat in this kind of game? Is there even a definition that can be used in moments like these?

Could be, but when I hear spy I always think Mata Hari and James Bond, and I have the feeling us two will not even meet for a long time.

Area 51 against the Tunguska project, or is that too X-Files?

Could we get away with an Alien Conspiracy Malfunction Day, do you think? Men in black, abductions, Elvis...

Giant Stargates in the middle of the Emptiness...

We'd be able to get little mini-conspiracies going, and everyone could have some of the fun.

"Is that a giant flying pyramid?!"

I will put it forth in the Malfunctin Days post.

You just had to bring up Immortal ad Vitam, eh? Or was that a Stargate reference? Both have flying pyramids, so...

I'll prepare some Pinky and Brain worthy conspiracies.

Alas, Stargate. I am woefully inadequate when it comes to sci-fi movies. And anything shown only on cable, for that matter.

Maybe we can all get lightsabers: they're shiny.

And I know too many. That is as unhelpful as your situation.

Lightsabers... that brings me back an idea. Maybe I should bring a certain Sith Lord into the game. How would you feel to play chess with Darth Vader?

And with our powers combined, we are super geeky!

That would be really interesting, especially since Niflheim is populated with so many... er... enthusiastically chaotic members. I have visions of Mello getting force-choked for being himself.

Something must be seriously wrong with me if I got a Sailor Moon dejavu from what you just said.

And dearest Vader is all about the order of things, yes. I can see the appeal of a bit choking here and there. But what would be if he were recruited by the light side?

Note to self: write applycation for Sith Lord... or maybe Darth Maul - we need some coolness factor here.

I was going for a Captain Planet reference, but *shrug*. It's been a while since I watched Sailor Moon.

Vader in Asgard... That would be unexpected. What point in Vader's life would you pull him from?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]silverknight
2008-07-13 03:48 am UTC (link)
Now that you say it the reference is more than obvious. Haven't watched Captain Planet since I was eight years old.

The best point to suck him out of his 'verse seems the end of Return of the Jedi, right after he died on the Deathstar - his 'return to Light side' as it's often described by fans. Personally, I see nothing of a change in morale in him, he just didn't want his kid being fried by the emperor. Doesn't make him 'good', just a father who's not wanting to see his son die.

[info]zefiris
2008-07-13 03:29 pm UTC (link)
Yeah, watching Captain Planet is what my friends do in our spare time...

That does give him motivation to fight for Asgard: I don't want Satan to fry my son after I died to stop Luke from being fried by Palpatine.

[info]silverknight

I see that as a cool way to pass the time.

Now that's a good way to explain it. 'Mr Vader, why did you choose the side of angels when you've voluntary and with your full senses followed a megalomaniac into a dangerous empire?'

Answer: 'I did not like the way Lucifer was looking at my son.' *begins to strangle the oen who questioned*

From a player and character standpoint, I say go for it! It's something that a lot of people have been dancing around, in a way, but no one has the technology or experience to actually come up with it. So it would be very well received.

Yush, they just seem to attract trouble. XD This actually made me think of what I would do with Morana when I have to hiatus in September. If I chose to have her wander out of Asgard for the time then at least there would be some way to keep tabs on her and everyone would know she was okay, thanks to the health monitor. ^^
