Dorian Forms and Characters
Introduction to my character and his Marble forms.
This is about my character Dorian the Mummy. As I said briefly and impersonally on my profile, Dorian is over one hundred years old. He was born in London in the late 1800's and added up to today, that's one hundred and eight plus blah.
Anyhoo, his mad scientist father experimented on him and killed him four times. This gave Dorian five souls (one to start out with, four others after his rebirths). After an angel intervened and provided Dorian his soulless battered form along with all five souls encased in marbles. It was his choice to keep existing, only using the marbles in case of emergencies.
I won't go into great detail on Dorian's own site (too crowded, yaknow?), I thought I'd list the five marbles here for future reference.
DORIAN: Dorian's body decayed under all the damage done to him by his crazy father. It stopped developing at the age of eighteen. Therefore, Dorian is not a mummy because he is ridiculously old; rather, he is a young, battered body caught in the erosion of time. The cloth around his body isn't for show - it's to keep everything in place.
NUMBER ONE / ORIGINAL SOUL: A twenty-something year-old young man. Polished, polite, and kind. If Dorian had been able to grow into adulthood, this would have been his actual appearance. Blessed with unexplainable flexibility and dexterity, this form of Dorian wears snug sweats when in use. Number One is skilled in the martial arts and his body is his main defense. When Dorian - an avid music-lover - wants to bust a move, he'll get into Number One and dance his heart away.
NUMBER TWO / GRANNY: Yes, Granny! Dorian's second soul from his first rebirth. When he takes the form of this marble, his body ages into a delicately old woman, wizened and worn. Silver hair pulled back and donning a cotton dress, Granny's special 'gift' is that of comfort. In times of stress, fear, and chaos, the form of Granny evokes peace and steadiness by her proximity. And, if she so desires, with a few words, can lull you to sleep.
NUMBER THREE / SIR PERCIVAL QUIGBY: Quigby is a well-tailored middle-aged man, equipped with top hat and bow tie. Dorian steps into Quigby the most often out of all his marbles, as Number Three is a man of class and character - two traits Dorian enjoys expressing most through him. Because Dorian is secretly a man of conversation, this form is gifted with unparalleled intelligence. If he's read it, seen it, or heard it, his brain's retained it. {He's not a psychic; I will not God-mode this form.}
NUMBER FOUR / POPPY: While Dorian admires innocence, he avoids undertaking the form of this six-year-old girl at all costs. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed, little Poppy is the picture-perfect child. Poppy is indeed cute and adorable, but she's also very sneaky. If in a tight spot, Dorian will slip this marble on, and if he wills it, can sneak by without anyone noticing. It is not a literal form of invisibilty, but rather an invulnerability to the sights of others. If, in Poppy form, Dorian chooses not to be seen - he won't be. He does this mostly to hide.
NUMBER FIVE / JARED: Dorian's final form. The marble of Jared takes on the body of a young, black man with striking features. Jared is a muscleman, of all skills, and his strength is in his body. While not anywhere near Superman in power, Jared is still stronger than the average man, able to lift three times his own weight without breaking a sweat. Due to Dorian's shy nature, he fears the power that comes with Jared's gift, but is quick to use it in aiding others.
I hope this helps some to others. It definitely helps me, finally getting it out on paper...ish.
PS: Hey, Mod, babe - like the use of 'Percival'? Thanks so much to you and your Pimpernel XD.
