[Current Location |Union Station, Washington DC]

Who: Diana and anyone
Where: The Fire & Ice in Union Station
When: Tuesday at lunchtime

Diana had decided to have lunch that day down in the food court at the station. Once done wolfing down her food, she'd gone a-wandering, killing time before she had to run back down to the Mall for her next tour. Though why anybody wanted a tour on a chilly, overcast day, Diana had no idea. She found her steps slowing and coming to a stop in front of one of the shops. The window display held a myriad of shiny objects to catch the eye but it was one in particular that held her gaze. It was a stunning amber necklace that tugged at something in her memory. Reminded her of...what? The sensation was disconcerting, like she was seeing the necklace there in the case and on someone's neck at the same time, images overlaid. Or she was seeing it as if from two different perspectives, two people looking at the same thing.

She swayed on her feet, shaking her head, that didn't make sense at all.

Who: Seth and ?
When: Early morning on the fifteenth.
Where: A newsstand in DC.
What: Seth finds out Star's gone missing.

One thing Seth despised about this city was the cold and the icy wind that got funneled between buildings, cutting through anything you might be wearing, chilling you to the bone. He'd hated New York and Boston for the same reason and the only thing that made DC even marginally better was that it was further south. Winter didn't last quite so long. In fact, the only thing that made winter even marginally better, for him, was the storms that whipped through the area. He always liked a good storm, even if ice came with it. But he hated being cold.

So one could certainly understand why he was walking in a hunched sort of manner, hands buried in his pockets, chin stuffed into the collar of his leather jacket, moving quickly toward the escalator that led down into the Metro. All he wanted at that particular moment was to escape the chill February wind on his way to find an early morning breakfast. His attention was caught, however, by the morning headline as he passed a newsstand. And a picture.

He stopped, backed up, and leaned in closer to read the story, heedless all of a sudden of the cold air. The article told about how, the night before, intruders were reported breaking into the apartment of a particular "star" of the District social scene. She was now missing. There was no ransom note but the police were, of course, pursuing every lead, et cetera.

Had Ra-Bella done this? Seth's lips curled as he took the paper with him and stalked away, ignoring the complaints of the person manning the stand. If she had, she had better be prepared to give Star to him.

If she hadn't?

Someone was going to die.

Sitting the cafe, Jack peeked out the window again, inwardly shivering against the cold that the warm building was blocking out. It just looked cold outside. Sighing he lifted his wine glass and took a sip of it before turning back to Diana and smiling. It was one of those rare moments when they were on a not!date. He was paying, because the new job secured a nice pay check...

"You should just move in," he said finally, shaking his head softly. "I mean, we have the room, and you wouldn't have to sleep on a couch anymore." Tucker and he could share a room...or he and Diana. He wouldn't mind...

He really wouldn't mind. "But only if you wanted."
