Where:Bookstore
When: Monday, late afternoon
Who: Ceara and whoever's in the area.

Ceara sighed once, her computer'd gone down and she had a couple of papers due and without her laptop, she was stuck doing it the old fashioned way...mostly. She'd printed off some material while on campus at the computer lab, but she 'd needed some extra sources, so she'd come to one of her favorite bookstores in order to do some of her research and also because the coffee here was amazing. Small bonus, but she'd take what she could get right now.

She picked up another book from the huge stack she had next to her and started scanning through it for information.

Bob was looking in a book on grief counselling. Not his favorite subject but he liked to keep up to date on what pop psych terms his congregation was going to start throwing at him next. And sometimes these were downright hilarious. His opinion on people who thought the death of a hamster or a fish was worth more grieving time than it took to go buy a new one was pretty low. Unless it was one of those fish that could live for a couple decades. That he could understand greiving over. Sort of. If the pet owner wasn't him.

As he was going back to the section to look over what else the store had to offer he had a familiar noise of irritation. He found Ceara's table easily. "Hello, alanna."

Ceara almost headdesked when she heard his voice. Of all the things she really didn't need tonight...oh well the niceties must be observed. "Hello Bob." she remarked, not looking up from her book. "Won't you have a seat?"

"Am I interrupting?" Bob asked with full knowledge that he was. He sat and lounged comfortably in the chair. "What are you working on?"

"Astronomy term paper. Black Holes and Neutron Stars." Ceara replied absently, reaching for her coffee. She looked up at Bob and the title of the book he had with him, "Grief counseling?" she asked, sounding skeptical.

"You never know when it'll come in handy." Bob said seriously. "Besides, I'm not exactly bad at it." A high suicide rate in his parish would be bad. He had to be good enough for them to keep coming back.

"I see," Ceara said with a puzzled look on her face. "Comfort many grieving widows, do you?"

"And children who lose their puppies and greiving widowers. Also, some vets and amputees." The veterans were where he really focused. He realized he actually had sympathy for those so he moved on quickly hoping Ceara wouldn't see. "Also victims of rape and molestation." Ok, fine he hated the bastards who screwed up those people's lives too. "And greiving parents." He could almost convince hismelf those people didn't matter either. "And house wives who find their lives somehow unfulfilling and husbands who spend all day at the office and can't figure out why their kids hate them." He finished mockingly.

"Fascinating job you have," Ceara remarked, "What'd you say it was again?" she asked nonchalantly, as she scribbled down some information for her paper.

Bob paused. "A life of service." He tried to read her scribbles from where he was sitting.

Ceara raised an eyebrow at him, "Sounds rewarding." She didn't mind his snooping a bit, it really was just research for a term paper. Granted her notes were all in Gaelic, but everyone has their small idiosyncrasies.

"It has its moments." He tilted his head. He was pretty sure that word was not actually Gealic. Then again some astronomical concepts weren't easy to say in Gaelic. Like quasar.

Ceara nodded, "Good for you then." She stopped to let her wrist rest for a bit.

"Have you seen our sister lately?" Ceara asked.

"No." Bob shook his head. "I don't see many people outside of work." Just his sisters. He liked to take a break from the general stupidity that he found rmapant in humanity. Work didn't leave him with much patience a lot of the time.

"Yes," Ceara replied truthfully. "Or you could give it to her yourself when we practice sparring. I don't think she'd mind if you watched."

The idea of being near both of them was too much to pass up. "Sure. When and where?" He knew somehow that previously they had all incarnated in one person. He might even prefer that right now.

Ceara told him the particulars, and to her shock, actually hoped he'd come. They'd always had a turbulent relationship, but she'd never want him to disappear. In their own way, it worked.

"Cool, she'll really enjoy that," Ceara gave him a small smile. She stretched once, feeling the slight stiffness that signalled to her that she'd been sitting too long in one spot.

"How are things?" she asked, hating herself for the small talk, but not quite sure what else to say and needing something to break the silence.
