Lucas Scott and Kara Thrace (Plotlocked)

Lucas was sitting with his legs crossed in front of the tree Layla had grown him for Keith. He sat in silence for a long time and let the tears slip down his cheeks. It had been nine months, nine months since Keith had been taken, nine months since he'd come here, nine months since he'd met Layla, the love of his life. Some many different thoughts ran through his mind as sat there.

He took out his wallet and slid out the picture of him and Keith from when he was eleven. He ran his fingers gently over the image of Keith.

"I wish you were here Keith. I wish you were here," he said in a shaky voice.

Kara was out for a run, jogging around the grounds. She saw the figure under the tree before she got near it, and smiled when she saw who it was. She diverted her course, jogging over to him.

She was about to give him shit about the tequila and what he'd been like when she saw his expression. She looked down at his hands, where he was stroking a picture with his finger.

She bit her lip, and pictured the photo still in her locker on Galactica. Folded down the middle and covered in years worth of fingerprints.

She wondered should she stay walking over, or leave him to it.

She bit her lip.

"Yeah, sure,," she said, and sat down beside him, crossing her legs. She sucks at this kind of thing, most of the time. But she knows what he's feeling, she had it herself. She feels like she should try to help Lucas, but doesn't know how good she'd be at it.

"Odd how some days it just seems harder, isn't it?" she said, eventually. "You think its going to get to a certain point, and you'll be able to not think about it. But it doesn't work like that."

She leans over to look at the picture. "Is that him?"

	She snickered. "I don't want to know, I really really don-" Her eyes caught a glimpse of something in his wallet and she grabbed his hand before he could close it.
