In the greenhouse, tending garden
Though it was quite warm in the greenhouse, one's plants needed tending at all times and in all seasons, and so Elaine was working quite industriously at pruning and weeding. She was carefully skirting the magical plants that Ginny was working with as she tended.

She was still feeling quite tired most of the time, but one could not spend all of one's day asleep. That would simply not do at all, and life was so pleasant when she was awake.

"You could help me weed, if you like. Somehow, even in this place, the plants get weeds."

And strange weeds they were, too.

"I remember when Father gave me my first spot of ground in which to plant. I must have been around four and came home absolutely covered in dirt." She laughed softly. "Father said it looked as if I had planted myself, instead of the lily bulbs."

So she showed him which weeds needed to come out and talked about when the best time to plant certain things was, and how bulbs needed to be pulled and kept safe from the long cold winters.

"I was permitted also to watch the farmers and sometimes, if my brother were there, I could speak to them as well."

She wanted him by her side, more than anything, in everything that she did and everywhere she went.

	She kissed him back, glad he was here to hold on to, for suddenly she felt a bit lightheaded. "I am glad to share it with you, beloved." Her eyes were bright as ever, perhaps it was just the heat from the greenhouse. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
