Layla needs medical attention.

Why: Layla is fighting to stay awake.
When: A while after the crash, last of the survivors to come out, with Kitty Pryde, who phased them outside.
Status: Incomplete

*Layla listened to Lucas, her eyes tearing up at his words. She would do anything and everything for him. She couldn't turn her head...So she looked at him with her eyes. Trying her damnedest to make sure she stayed with him. She took a deep breath and held onto his hand. Next thing she was being taken through the walls again with Lucas and Kitty. Then she was outside and on the grounds. Kitty collapses next to them and she is still holding onto Lucas like a lifeline.*

Don't leave...*She took a ragged breath, her eyes are slits. It is clear, she is visibly fighting to stay awake, to stay alive and be with Lucas.*

He wasn't sure if she was talking to him or not so he stayed where he was.

"HELP, we need a doctor over here," he cried out.

He looked back down at Layla. "Come on babe, stay with me," he said pleading with her. "I need you, you got to stay with me ok. Please don't leave me here alone. I can't do this without you, I can't go on without you. You got to stay with me," he said looking into her eyes. His eyes pleading with her. "I love you, be strong for me. Please Layla."

"Then don't. You've got to hold on for me," he said gripping one of her hands tightly. 'I'm not going to lose someone else I love', he thought to himself. "You're so strong Layla, stronger than you know. You're going to be fine. We just need to get you a doctor ok. Just think of the life we're going to have together, our wedding and our children and our life. I need you to stay with me."

	It took a lot of effort but she moved her hand up to cup his cheek. Wanna...Her eyes began to tear up and she began to cry. Wanna stay. Then her arm, the one with the hand cupping his face, dropped suddenly with a thud to the side of her. She was crying in earnest. The gravity of the entire situation hitting her. He was trying really hard not to cry. He had to stay strong for her but inside he was falling apart. He felt so helpless, he was usually good in situations like this.

"HELP," he cried out again.

"Layla I'm here, I'm right here. I can't lose you. I won't lose someone else I love. So you've got to stay strong," he said gently wiping the tears from her eyes.

She was in pain and it killed him to see it. He'd told her he'd always be there for her and take care of her but there was nothing he could do for her but just be there.

He tried to push the idea of the fact that she could die in his arms to the back of his head. He squeezed her hand.

	He pulled off his jacket, letting go of her hand and put it around her. He rubbed her arms to warm her. "You can't sleep cos if you sleep you might not wake up and I won't lose you Layla. So you have to keep talking ok? Tell me about a good day," he said. He remembered saying that to Peyton the day of the school shooting to try keep her awake. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

*She winced when he put the jacket on her, but was grateful a moment later, then he was warming up her arms and she sighed, heavily. Her eyes closed and then opened. It was a strain for her to talk, but she'd try.*

A good day? A few...*She'd cough and wince.*...weeks ago Micheala and I....I...were outside building....*She;d wheeze and close her eyes, her hands gripping the lining of the jacket.*...built a snowman. I...I showed her I could grow plants, made carrot grow out of snow, ice covered ground. Made her smile. She...she thought it was cool.

*She coughed again, crying a little more, but did her best to school her features and her pain.*

	He saw the blood on her hand and started to really freak out but did his best not to show her he was. "I don't know. I'm sorry Layla but you can't sleep, not yet anyway. Cos I'm not gonna lose you. Throat's raw, hard to-to talk. *She coughed again.* Feel dirty, gritty. Eyes hurt. wanna close them, they hurt. You came for me. You came for me, you didn't go.

*Searching for his hand again.* Who, why did it blow up?

*She began to think of everything that went down, the explosion, the veins cracking in the ceiling, the rubble, then the tree.* He died for me...

*She let out a wailing sob.* I felt him die, he wouldn't let me go. Said I had too much to live for...

	You can't go in there, all the plants are dead, the place....She coughed hard and sucked in a breath. ...place collapsed. She was taken aback. I meant, I should have died, I was in the middle of it all and the tree saved me, I screamed for help and it came. Sorry... She got quiet, letting her head lull to the side, her eyelids heavy.
