He's completely insane..
Who: The Doctor, OTA
Where: The Library
What: Uh, a bored Time Lord is never a good thing...

---

The Doctor sat in his chair in the library, surrounded by piles of books. He was sitting oddly, sideways with his long legs draped over the arm, and one arm lying limp by his side as the other held a book on front of his face.

He looked like he hadn't shaved in a few days, his suit jacket is in a crumpled heap on the floor, and his shirtsleeves are rolled up. His hair is sticking up at bizarre angles and there is a dangerous glint in his eyes underneath the glasses perched on his nose.

He really isn't as scary as he looks, but anyone who approaches him should be prepared for slightly more manic rambling than usual.

Gwen was slowly going stir crazy and since she was finally on the mend decided to sneak to the library for something new. She spotted only one other person and part of her got curious, was this The Doctor Jack had spoken of around the Hub? She darted behind a shelf but the postnasal drip would give her away. That's not counting not sleeping due to nightmares even she could not easily explain.

He looked up at the sound of footsteps, and looked around the room curiously, eyes darting around fast. When he saw no one, he shrugged and went back to his book. It was quite fascinating really, was all about this boy who had adventures with his stuffed toys. He wondered where a British children's book author from the first half of the twentieth century had heard of Heffalumps and Woozles, and once again inwardly cursed not having a TARDIS so he could ask the man in question.

Now she could be heard as the creak of her sneakers could be heard plus nasty sounding postnasal drip. "What was that one Jack told me about?" came a soft female voice, but with a Welsh accent. Gwen was creeping along a set of shelves as she mused.

The Doctor was engrossed in his book, and as such didn't hear any of the noises coming from behind the bookshelves, having tuned out most of the background noise. He'd been in the library for almost 30 hours, and many people had come in and out unnoticed.

Poohsticks really was a fascinating game, he hadn't played it in centuries.

Gwen finally spoke,"Ok, you are totally reminding me of Jack when one of his mood swings strikes. He would not leave his office and it was usually me or Ianto that had to get him out".

Lucas walked into the library to return the copy of 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' he had borrowed. He spotted a guy who looked familiar.

"Hi, you're the banana daiquiri guy right?" he asked.

"How have you been, Lucas?" he asked.

Mallory came in to look for a book to pass the time with. When she spots The Doctor, she winces at his appearance and walks over.

"No offence, but you kinda look like crap. Are you feeling all right?"

He looks up from the book and smiles at her.

"Oh, I'm fine," he said. "Just catching up on my reading, though I think I've been here a while..." he said, looking around him at the piles of books surrounding him. He swings himself around so he's sitting properly in the chair, and runs his fingers through his hair in an attempt to tidy it up a bit.

He smiles.

"A day, maybe?" he says, with a shrug. "Nah, don't need sleep for another day or two," he says. He looks around at the stacks of books again.

"Maybe a break from reading, though," he adds, pursing his lips thoughtfully. "Once I started, I just... couldn't stop..."

He certainly does look odd, with his posture and his messiness.

She takes a seat nearby, with an extremely old book, for those are all she can read Here. "You look as if you love reading quite a lot," she says. Elaine has not read so many books...but then, she didn't have access to so many books, not in the sixth century.

"Do you enjoy reading?" he asks.

"I do. My father thought it wise that I learn to read, though I suppose it was not essential that I learn. I tend to get lost in things like the histories of Josephus and the like."

If she cannot be a knight with her brothers and defend the powerless, at the very least she can learn history. She might not like fighting very much, but she allows that sometimes it is necessary.

No one seemed to ever have heard of it. It makes her feel as if she doesn't quite exist sometimes.

For a moment she doesn't want to disturb the guy, he's sitting, reading but he just looks so...broken.

And theres, just for a moment something in his eyes that is oh so familiar to her.

"Good book?" she asks, not having seen them in bound paper form outside the Jedi Temple.

"This and that" she repeated raising an eyebrow but not at all challengingly. If he wanted to be just called Doctor she could do that.

"Nice to meet you too Doctor...Its been a while since I've actually seen paper bound books...I was wondering if they had holo books, my Uncle'd kill me if I was training while I was here but not 'training my mind'" she intoned in a not half bad impression of her Uncle Luke
