*Murphy walked with a purpose to Dawn's room, he had been down in the work out room taking care of his shoulder. Stretches, weightlifting, and finally he climbed the rock wall. He got some food and some water, then went to his room, found her note, smiled and headed for the shower. He got dressed in a clean black,faded tee shirt and a pair of faded denim jeans, his combat boots. He made his way to her room and knocked on the door, biting his thumb and rubbing his thumb over his chin while he waited.*

Dawn looked up when she heard the knock at her door, grinning because she was absolutely sure that the only person who it could be was Murphy. Nervously she got up, leaving the kitchen where's she'd been sitting with a notepad. So, okay, she'd been planning what to say just a bit. She stopped at a mirror along the way, doing a quick check of her hair and clothes - which was oh so reminiscent of the date, before she ran to the door. She paused for a moment, waiting until she looked less like she'd hurried, and then opened it.

"Hi," she said, smiling slightly when she saw Murphy. Looking very good, too, she thought and bit her lip to keep from giggling like she was fourteen.

	She closed the door behind him, taking a breath before turning to face Murphy. She took a seat beside him when he patted it, rubbed her hands on her jeans, just slightly nervous. "Yeah. So." 	She grinned into the kiss, wrapping an arm around his neck. She pulled back after a moment, but only slightly, not wanting to go too far. "Lucky too, considering." She said, hinting slightly (and only if by hinting she meant not hinting at all and hoping he had some sort of psychic ability) to what had happened before they ended up Here. 	He made a very appreciative sound when she wrapped her arm around his neck and smiled. He gazed up into those beautiful eyes she had and a smile broke out on his face like warm molasses. I knew it. That ya's be askin' tha' particular question some day.

*He sighed, rubbed his face with both hands and then looked back up.*

See, Me, Da, Conner, we were tapped by God, ta rid the world of evil men. So tha' good may flourish. At first our Da' was sent to take a hit out on us, got shot by 'im too. El Duce. Tha' is wha' the mob called 'im. Me an' Conner jus' used ta work in a meat packin' plant. 'Til one night we got inta a brawl with some Russian mobsters. They was taken ova' the bar we always went ta afta work. M'Ginty's. Anyway, we fought 'em cause they began ta pick on 'im, the owner an' us. Conner set ona their ass on fire. The next mornin' afta we rolled in from celebratin' from Saint Patty's, the Mobsters found our apartment, rushed us there and kidnapped me, handcuffed Conner to our toilet. They woulda executed me, kneelin' there in the alley iffen Conner hadn'a ripped the damn toilet from the floor, climbed ta the roof an' dropped it on ona their heads, then he jumped off the roof. We went ta the hospital, the cops were at our place investigatin'. So, after we got cleaned up, we walked to the police station in our robes ta confess it all. They deemed it an act of self defense. We wanted ta stay outta the press, so they allowed us ta sleep in their cell. A friend, Rocco, who joined us lata' in our mission brought us our clothes an' our rosary, crosses. Tha' night it rained an' Conner and I had this same euphoric, dream like trance. We jus' knew as the wata' spilled out onta our heads an' as it did we knew wha' we must do, wha' God was askin' of us, wha' He jus' baptized us ta do. Lata tha' day we traded in the dead mobsters money and gold we took before headin' to the hospital for guns and such. They also had a beepa, their mob heads had called a Russian syndicate meetin'. Commer an' I had tha' pager from the things we took. So, Conner called an' since we can speak fluent Russian, it tol' us about this meetin'. We set up an' off we went. We killed 'em all, said our family prayer ova' em, gave 'em las' rights an' put pennies ova their eyes for the Boatman. From tha' day forward we was out for mobster blood. We neva' hurt a child nor a woman, not what we was about. Like I said, we had a partner for a bit, we got cocky an' wenta ona the major Italian mobsters homes, an' got caught and tied up. They tortured us an' then killed 'im, Rocco tha' is, in fronta us. I made Conner break me arm to get outta the handcuffs an' ta help set Conner free, we then gave Rocco his las' rights an' in walked our Da, but we didn' know it was 'im. He heard us recitin' the family prayer, we heard 'im, turned our guns on 'im, but all he did was recite the prayer, then he came ta us, as we knelt by Rocco an' put a hand on eacha our heads. We were a family again, we worked tagether with the Boston cops an' the F.B.I. for a tick. Then we had ta start movin' ta different towns. Tha' day we met the job we went on went sideways. Makin' us all haveta split up some. I went to the dinner, guy musta tracked me there an' ya know the rest.

*Then he sat there, waiting for her to freak out, or to tell him to leave, anything really.*

"So." Dawn started, frowning as she tried to break the story down to its simplest terms in her mind. Simplest terms in her mind being that they, Murphy and his brother, had been called - kind of like your sister, she thought to herself.

"You kill people, but only the ones that are evil." she states, more out of a need to say it out loud. What the hell was she going to do, anyway? Tell him that it was crazier than her sister slaying vampires, or the fact that she hadn't existed as Dawn Summmers before she turned fourteen? "How about we never tell my sister how we got here, or what you do?"

	So, she ain't really yer guardian, she is more like yer equal...sister even? I get it, I do. This place is damn near crazy as hell. So, it don' surprise me none. So, wait? "Yep." Dawn nodded. "Here, we're close to the same age, so I don't really feel like telling her everything. Or like I have to. Plus, there's the chance that it'll mess with history. I think. Anyway, avoidance is sooo much better than not."

She smiled, moving so that she was straddling his lap more than just sitting there. "I'm more than okay. At least you kill what people can believe exists."
