Layla OTA to Lucas and whomever
Layla had all the seeds she could manage, plus a dozen or so books on botany and herbalism that she couldn't find back home in their room. She packed every dress and gift that Luca got her and visa versa. She had a tiny hammock made for the fox and chipmunks and a place for any of her special plants. They had Jamie and all of his goodies packed as well, now she was making the rounds, with Jamie and the animals in tow before she and her husband left. Calling her mother before she left, and finding out that they can indeed open a portal, using a device that Mr. Medula has made. She finds herself saying goodbye to many people, tears in her eyes.

	"They opened the portal? It's OK for me to go back with you?" he asked her. He his his arm draped around her, knowing she would find saying goodbye to a lot of people hard. He knew he was going to find it hard too. (Reply to this) (Thread)

"Yes, or I can go back with you? We can go home though, I have everything packed. " She looked at him hopefully, showing him she had everything packed, even the furry kids. "We just need to make sure we are both touching everything, together." She stated, looking at Jamie. "We need to take him to his cube, so he can go back to his parents." She looked at Lucas, not stating the fact that she didn't want to give up the child that wasn't their own."

	She began to cry, shaking her head that she didn't know and she was keeping those tears silent for Jamie's sake. "Doesn't your family and friends need you? "Then you can go back with me," he said softly.

He moved closer to her and whispered in her ear "I know you're going to miss him, but if you go back with me, we'll get to watch him grow up."

He placed his hand on the back of her head and kissed her temple gently, then he gently hugged her to him.

"How does that sound? You go back with me and we watch him and my baby sister grow up?" he asked. "I love you Layla and I want to make you happy."

She nodded, listening to him. She looked over her shoulder at him, wanting to hug him and care for him forever.

"It's just not the same, I mean it is and yes, yes I want to and I will. we can see my parents, I know this now, just...he isn't ours and yet here he is...it is just, this place has taken so much from me. All my friends and now this. Just, please, please, don't ever leave me? I've lost so much, too much, I can't lose you! I just can't."

She leaned into the kiss to her temple and hugged him back intently.

"It sounds good. It does. When we get back, can we please have another wedding? This time with both of our families? I just need it, I need them and you, I need it so much.

	He hugged her closer to him. "I am never ever gonna leave you. You're not gonna lose me, I'm going nowhere without you. I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Layla buried her face against his chest and held onto him tightly.

"OK, good. That is good. That you won't ever leave me. I just feel like this is a proper family and now it is going to be over." She looked up into his eyes then.

"I should be so happy that he is going back to his own mother and father, but I feel so close to him, like I am a part of his family."

"I just really care for him, for you both. What I am trying to say is it will be hard to let his mom be his mom without feeling like I am giving up a big, big part of myself that I never imagined happening." Layla leaned into the hair stroking.

"Look, we should do this, before I change my mind and before things become too late. It's time for us to go home. To really be with our families and to start our own. Let's leave all the pain and worry behind us."

	He walked with her over to Jamie. "Hey Jimmy Jam, you ready to see your momma and daddy again?" he asked him. Jamie looked up at him and smiled. "I'll see them again?" he asked. 	Layla turned her head in toward Lucas and nearly broke from the stress of holding it all in. She wanted to be so far from this place, it just destroyed things. Lucas was the one good thing, next to Jamie that she got out of this place. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Layla clung to Lucas, pushing at him and trying to get closer to where Jamie had been. All the loss had been too much on the sensitive girl. Layla was sobbing hard, almost inconsolable.
