Damn and Damn
Who: Jack and Anyone.
Where: The Residence - his and the Doctor's room, first floor.
When: As the Announcement is made.

To say that the alarm was alarming would've been redundant, so he didn't say anything.

Jack rolled out of bed, pulled his revolver from under the mattress and stood in the dark, listening. Thunder was still rolling in the distance and the alarm wasn't really an alarm, so much as an announcement. He pulled on his jeans, wondering where the Doctor was and what the hell was going on now. He didn't want to go naked into the hallway and give anyone a scare.

He opened the door and stepped outside, gun at the ready.

	"OK, cause I can't lose him Jack, I can't." She sounded freaked, remembering the explosion, his heart attack. She cradled the back of Jamie's head and cooed to him. "Um, he said he was going to go to the library, but he always heads out for one place and winds up in another, like the basketball court." Layla stated, her voice warbling slightly. Lucas was looking for Layla and Jamie. He had been in the library when he heard the alarm. He then ran upstairs to their room but neither of them where there.

He was frantic looking for them.

"Layla," he called out. Then he spotted her familiar red hair. He ran to her and hugged her tight. He reigned kisses over her forehead, temples and the top of her head.

"Oh thank God, you're alright. You're alright," he said hugging her tighter. "I was so worried. Both of you."

"We were worried about you too Uncle Lucas," Jamie said.

	Layla nodded at that, then looked between them both and realized that they will never be able to settle their difference or their problems. "Yes, as long as we all do it together, it sounds fine." Layla stroked Jamie's hair and kissed his temple. "You got all of us to look out for you kid." Then she looked to everyone and waited for them to make the next move. 	"Well," Jack said, trying to be decisive. "We can start with checking in on the rest of the guests and maybe explore the grounds a bit. That roll of thunder sh- stuff sounded interesting." "Always and forever," he said softly, with a warm smile to Layla.

He leaned in and whispered in her ear "I love you."

He turned to Jack and smiled at him.

"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. We could try to figure out what is going on."

He picked Jamie up and smiled at him.

"How would you like to go exploring Jimmy Jam?" he asked.

Jamie grinned at him. "I'd like to explore Uncle Lucas."

"Always and forever." Layla said back to Lucas. Then she walked over to jack and offered him a hug. "For everything you've done for us, thank you. You have been a blessing and a miracle." Layla pushed into his hand her cell number and information. "Just in case you can, you never know? This way you can be in touch with us both." Layla said to him, Jamie was now with Lucas so she had the time to talk to just Jack.

"I say we pick a direction and look around, see who, what and may be why this is happening? Has anyone noticed that this place seems dead again?" Layla asked them all softly.

Jack watched the happy reunion continue and nodded his head in agreement about exploration. When Layla hugged him, he wasn't expecting it. Holding his gun to the side, pointed down, he hugged her back as best he could with one arm.

"You're pretty special, too, Layla," he said softly. He smiled at her, then at Lucas and Jamie and placed the piece of paper into his shirt pocket.

He wouldn't lose it. Anything was possible, right?

"It's quiet, yeah." Jack grinned. "Let's explore!"
