Maureen OTA
Maureen was enjoying the last of the summer outside near the pool. She wasn't going to swim she had a pad and a pen resting on her knees and she was humming to herself before scribbling the occasional line to herself.

Lucas took Jamie to the swimming pool. Layla was minding the fur kids and Jamie wanted to swim. Lucas had asked her to join them later if and when she could and hoped she did. He was holding Jamie's hand and both of them were wearing swimming trunks. Jamie also had on inflatable arm supports.

"Ready to go swimming Jimmy Jam."

"Ready," Jamie said letting Lucas' hand go and pulling his arm supports up further on his arms.

	Maureen hears some voices and there is Lucas with a little boy she hadn't seen before. She half wants to disappear after the last time seeing Lucas and Layla and being abandonned but she's fairly sure she's been seen so has to tough it out. Lucas looked over and Maureen and smiled a little, looking a little guilty.

"Jamie, can you stay here for a minute?" he asked Jamie.

"Sure Uncle Lucas."

Lucas walked over to Maureen. He placed his hands on his hips just above his swimming trunks.

"Hey, I just wanna say I'm sorry about the last time we met. It wasn't fair to you with both of us running out on you like that. I hope you can forgive me."

	Lucas apologises and Maureen relaxes. "Hey no worries it was a bit weird and its past so I'm good if you are." She smiles to show she's okay. "So you and Layla are okay?" she asks carefully. "Yeah I'm good," he said smiling back.

"Yeah, we're okay. Layla and I have been through a lot as a couple but somehow we manage to work through it together. She's my girl, always will be. I love her."

He walked back over to Jamie.

"I"m James Lucas Scott," Jamie said proudly when Maureen asked who he was.

"No, not mine. He's my brothers and best friends. He's my nephew."

Maureen nods. "Good to hear, you know?"

The little boy introduces himself.

"Well hello there, James Lucas Scott. I'm Maureen Johnson and I'm pleased to meet you. So are you Here looking after your Uncle?"

Lucas clarifies that Jamie is his nephew. "Wow and he ended up Here? Tough gig, good job you're Here for him."

Maureen turns her attention back to Jamie. "So are you liking it Here Jamie?"

	"Yeah," Lucas said smiling warmly at her. "Yeah he did. And yeah it is." "I miss my Momma and Daddy," Jamie said. "But Uncle Lucas, Chester, Aunt Brooke and Peyton are Here. 	She hadn't really been planning on swimming but why the hell not. "Sure!" she says. She unbuttons her shirt and slips out of her skirt to reveal a purple tankini. She ties her hair into a ponytail. "Well I'm ready." she grins. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	"OK, cool," he said smiling at Maureen. He did his best not to look at her as he took off her shirt and skirt. "Ready Jimmy Jam?" Lucas asked. "Ready Uncle Lucas." 	Maureen can't help but laugh at Jamie and Lucas. She swims a little towards them. "I'm kind of in awe of you there Lucas." She says and she is, he's a young guy and has taken on responsibilty for his nephew, not something she'd want to do. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"I'm just glad that he's not here alone. He has Layla, Peyton and Aunt Brooke Here too."

"Well we have the same Dad and different mom's. We did grow up together. So we didn't know each other. And he didn't like the fact that I existed. Then I joined the team and ended up with his spot on the line-up and I had a thing for his girlfriend. He didn't like that. But then we got to know each other better and became friends."

He swam to Jimmy Jam and picked him up into his arms.

	She came down to the pool looking for Lucas and Jamie and the first person she noticed was Maureen. She gave her a tentative wave. She hadn't wanted to leave her that day, but Lucas was, well, that was a whole other story. She began to back up and walk out of there. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Maureen shifts in her seat to face Layla properly. "Its fine really, I'll let it go if you will? Come sit down." She gestures to a lounger near her's. She smiled and nodded to her, taking a deep breath then. "All right, sure. I can let it go." She stated, even though she still felt terrible. She slid into the seat that Maureen suggested. She folded her hands and watched Maureen's face for a moment. "Yes, it does and I adore the tyke to bits. It is just taking so much with all of our marriage troubles lately, some that I was not sure we could come back from the brink of. Still, Jamie is and always will be a priority."

She smiled and nodded to Maureen then. "Noble choice, most people have kids for all the wrong reasons and the child ends up unloved, hurt or messed up. Not saying you would abuse a child, just that you know what you want or don't want. I jus hope that people don't push you to do things you don't want to do, it always backfires on everyone."

Maureen is pleased that Layla hasn't run off, she smiles warmly. She listens hard and can sense its been a tough time for Layla recently.

"I can imagine, I can't say that I've got the best track record with relationships, but if you want to talk...?"

Maureen gets a wry grin when Layla talks about choosing to have children. "Oh honey, no one pushes me into doing something I don't want to do, maybe one day I'll want to have children but right now, I'm a struggling artist in the East Village.... at least I was and now I'm Here and I'm not a mother, I don't have the instinct, far too selfish."
