Lucas Scott, James Lucas Scott and Kara Thrace - Plotlocked kthanz
Lucas had taken Jamie to the basketball court here. He wanted to bond with his nephew. He was teaching Jamie how to play basketball. They'd been out there for a while.

Jamie threw the ball at the hoop and it went it.

Lucas picked Jamie up and started running around the court with him.

"That's my guy. Nothing but net J Luke," he said smiling.

Jamie started to laugh. Lucas set him down gently.

"My turn now. I have to teach you how to dance," Jamie said.

"OK little man, show me what you got," Lucas said.

Jamie started to dance and Lucas started to copy his moves.

Kara was out for a jog. She saw the familiar shape of someone on the basketball court, and squinted. It was Lucas, definitely, but there was someone else with him. A kid. And they were dancing.

Well, the kid was. Lucas was trying to.

She slowed to a stop beside it and smirked at them. "Hey. So... you really can't dance, can you, Luke? Thought that night was a fluke."

She looked down at the kid. Damn, he looked like Lucas. Except for the dancing ability.

She looked back up to Luke and raised an eyebrow questioningly, not sure how to phrase 'where'd you pick up the kid from' tactfully.

Lucas stopped when he saw Kara and blushed. He stopped dancing.

"Hey Kara," he said smiling. "No, no fluke. But J Luke here has some moves. High five for the little man," he said.

Jamie smiled and high five-d Lucas.

He looked at Kara when she looked at him.

"Oh introductions. My bad. Kara this is James Lucas Scott, my nephew."

"Age 5," Jamie added proudly.

"Jamie this is Kara Thrace, my friend."

"Oh. You're nephew?" That was odd.

She smiled at the kid. "Hey," she said. "Can I call you J Luke too or is that a special Uncle thing?"

"So you got here just like us, huh?" she asked, more to Lucas than to him. It hadn't occured to her that kids might just do the puzzle. But it was a toy. A frakking hard one, but still a toy. She wondered what happened to kids that arrived Here who didn't have a handy relative already Here.

	"I guess that's up to Jamie," Lucas said. Jamie was looking at Kara carefully. He was still a little scared of new people. He took Lucas's hand and held it tightly. 	She could sense the kid was uneasy, frightened. Figures, she was freaked enough by this place, and she's not five. "Then I will." She smiled at him. "You know, I gave your uncle a nickname, too. 	"Earth has a coffee chain with my name?" she asks, shaking her head, completely bemused. "That's weird." She smiled at Jamie. "Really? Lucas married someone called Lindsay?" "Yeah," Lucas said.

Lucas didn't know what to say to that.

"He almost married Lindsay but she ran off an the altar. Then he got really sad and went away for a while. I missed him a lot. Then he came back and tried to get Lindsay back. He gave me money to tell her he missed her. Then I heard Momma saying Peyton had wrote something on the Rivercourt. Then they both went away. When they came back Uncle Lucas said he was moving in with Peyton and they were getting married. I asked if he'd ever loved momma and he said not like that. I asked if he'd ever loved Auntie Brooke and he said it was a long story."

He pointed at his ear.

"I have big ears," he said. He'd said something like this to Layla already.

	Kara's eyebrows were close to her hairline by the time Jamie was done talking. She grinned. "And a good memory, too," she said. She looked up at Lucas. "Yeah, maybe we should," Jamie said giggling.

"Thanks Kara. Any time you want a game just let me know," Lucas said.

He grabbed his basketball and passed it to Jamie.

"Why don't you show Kara what you got Jamie," Lucas said.

"OK," Jamie said before taking a shot. The ball went through the hoop.

"Woah huh," Lucas said. He grabbed Jamie and slung him over his shoulder, running around the court with him chanting 'Jamie' over and over. Jamie was giggling like crazy.

Kara cheers and claps when Jamie sinks the ball - a fantastic shot for someone so small. He giggles and laughs when Lucas pucks him up and runs around the court with him, and Kara laughs at them.

"Wow, well done, Kid. That was amazing."

She grabs the ball and dribbles it herself, before taking a shot. The ball sailed through the hoop and she grins.

"I still got it too."

	Lucas stopped running and held Jamie upside down. "Thanks," Jamie said still giggling. Jamie clapped from his upside down position as Kara got the shot in. 	"It is a shame," Kara agrees, shaking her head and grinning widely. She's really impressed by how the kid teases Lucas, which probably isn't something that should impress her so much.
