Lee OTA Library
Lee was reading in the library, he'd been quiet recently just getting on with being HEre and trying to find various ways of getting out. Looking for pieces in vain.

He was reading a Caprican novel but wasn't able to concentrate.

He looks around the library but it seemed really quiet.

He sighs and goes back to his book.

	Kara hesitated at the door. So ... quiet but she resisted the urge to shout and jump around. It would be childish. It looked like there wasn't many people besides Lee around, though. 	Lee was reading getting quite absorbed in the narrative, when he felt a pair of cool hands and fingers slip over his eyes. He couldn't help the smile that spread across his mouth when he heard the silky whisper in his ear. "Kara," he says matter of factly. "Feeling ok? You are in a library." 	He grins cheekily. "You do?" He knows she does read occasionally, doesn't mean he won't stop teasing her. She asks what he's reading and he holds up the book to her. She rolls her eyes at him.

Her smile fades when he says its the Old Man's favourite.

"Yeah, I think I will."

She stands up to go get a book, and runs her hand along his arm as she passes his chair, not sure how to comfort him.

She browses the shelves, looking for something that catches her interest. She grins when she sees the red book, slides it off the shelf and makes her way back to her chair, holding it in front of her face so Lee can make out the title: The Collected Works of Kataris.

	Lee leans his head towards her hand as she runs it along his arm and shoulder as she passes. But doesn't say anything. He doesn't need to he knows she understands. Lee smiles again as she wafts the book so he can read the title. "Well you always were the poetic one." He enjoyed mocking her and loved it when she surprised him. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She smirks at him over the top of the book, happy to see him smiling. "My Dad had a ton of poetry books. Said it helped him with lyrics." She flicked through the book, eyes scanning the poems she remembered and the odd one she didn't. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Lee nods, looking up from the book and smiling at Kara as she gets herself comfortable with her book of poetry.

It was unusual to hear Kara talk about her father Lee didn't know that much about him other than he hadn't really figured much in Kara's life.

"So you got a favourite?" he asks. "One that get's you through a dark lonely night?" His tone is light but he's genuinely interested. Poetry wasn't really his thing neither was fiction but there was something comforting about a book that meant a lot to his father, he glanced at the cover, it seemed to be the same edition too.

She looks up at him, hesitates a second. She flicks through the book, more to buy herself time since she knows it by heart.

She takes a breath and reads it out.

"Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public man, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death."

She looks up at him and shrugs. "Cheerful, I know..."

	Lee can see why she likes the poem, it kind of resonates with the way all pilots live in the fleet. "Its beautiful." he says simply. Not sure why he's feeling so emotional today. He reaches his hand out towards Kara. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	She wraps her arms around him, this she can do. She knows how it is to have bad days. She reaches for the book in his lap and moves it to the floor, and crawls onto the chair beside him. She's not sure what to say, hopes that the contact will help. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Kara knows what he needs and its her close to him. She positions herself next to him. Lee squeezes her tightly and breathes her scent in, just finding her presence a bit of a comfort. They stay like that a few minutes, Lee just getting his head back together. "Thanks," he says a little thickly. "Never thought I'd miss the old man or the frakking ship." 	She smiles. "Yeah, I know." She wonders how everyone's getting on. Have they found Earth? Has there been more attacks? Are they even all alive? But that train of thought is too depressing. 	Lee get's up after her and they walk together out of the library to mixed leaves. He looks over the beverage and cake menus before settling on a large vanilla latte and a slab of chocolate cake. "To-go" he asks the waiter. He waits for Kara to order. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
