This year’s Christmas card had the usual family portrait on the front, with the nice black and white tones that an expert photographer had produced. Tiki was seated on a chair to the side in the image, legs crossed politely and hands folded in his lap. Rhode stood just behind him, a hand resting on his shoulder, a pair of content smiles on their faces as they posed. Lulubelle was standing just beside the Earl in the photo, not bothering to look as though she was enjoying herself. In the center of the image, the Millennium Earl stood- happy as could be with his family surrounding him. Of course, the photos came back with surprises of their own sort, leaving the three normal members of the clan standing around the kitchen table with expressions of disgust on their faces.

There the twins were, etched in the annals of time, grinning like idiots and flipping off the camera. Jasdebi was snickering hysterically as they looked at the photos, ignoring the enraged vibes coming from the other members of the family as they pointed at themselves. Tiki flipped through a small stack of the photos slowly, each flick of a picture making an ominous sound in the silence. At last, Rhode picked up a pair of glittery pinecones from the bowl in the middle of the table, examining them carefully before chucking them across the table at full force.

The twins went down with identical cries of surprise, the spiky nuts bouncing off of their foreheads with small puffs of glitter and powder from dried glue. “Nice job, assholes! Ruined the fucking card again!” She stormed off with a shout of frustration, leaving the rest of the family standing- or sprawled- in the kitchen, silent as they listened to her march up the stairs.

“I wouldn’t sleep tonight if I were you, boys.” Tiki remarked nonchalantly, setting down the stack of photos with a soft smirk. “She’s going to do even worse than last year, I’ll bet…”
