Rhode was quite adorable when she was drunk.

Tiki was well aware that he shouldn’t have known what Rhode was like when she had tasted any kind of alcohol, but every time they were snuggled up beside the fire with some eggnog, she always wanted to have a sip from his glass. The akuma always made his with brandy, and hers without as the Earl ordered. Even Rhode could see that his had a more golden color to it, and how much he enjoyed it, and she was a little beggar. He just couldn’t say no to those big, blue eyes.

One sip, he’d tell her, and she’d take a tiny sip, licking her lips like a happy little cat and smiling like an angel. A few minutes later, another request, soft and pleading, and he still couldn’t refuse. It took at least two hours, but eventually she’d have downed half of his eggnog, wavering back and forth as he read aloud from his newest book.

She sank against him slowly, a soft hiccup escaping, eyes half-shut as she watched the words quiver on the page in front of her. Rhode squeaked a bit more than normally when she slept after having brandy, and sometimes she’d start to suck on one of her fingers. She’d stopped doing that about a year ago, but when she was really tired he could catch her at it.

He shifted her weight so she was resting comfortably in his lap, sitting back in the chair with a soft yawn. He’d have to carry Rhode up to bed later, but for now getting completely trashed sounded like a wonderful idea before falling asleep. A tap to the table brought a quiet akuma to his side, ready to take his glass and refill it at a moment’s notice.

“Put more brandy in this time, please.” The request was acknowledged with a nod as he drew a blanket over the girl in his lap, tilting his head back and closing his eyes. Home: The place where the liquor was best and never stopped coming. He’d come back more often if the Earl didn’t cut him off when he deemed Tiki was drinking too much.
