They were asleep in front of the fireplace, curled up in a single mass of blanket and pillows and Noah warmth. Tiki had been there for at least half an hour before Debitt had come to curl up beside him, the older Noah basking in the warm glow of the hearth like a lazy panther. Debitt was pressed into the curves of the man's side like a kitten, head nestled into Tiki's side as he used the soft area between his ribs and hip as a pillow. Tiki had draped his right arm across the boy in his sleep, fingers hanging down his thin back and arm covering most of his gangly side. His other arm was stretched out above his head, cheek resting on the pillow beside it. The book Tiki had been reading was still held in that hand, finger between the pages to hold his spot. It wouldn't do to have to bother searching once he awakened, after all. When Tiki finally stirred, a small foot pressing against his face in running dreams, he didn't shove the boy aside. He simply moved Debitt's legs to rest in front of him, wrapping his arm around the pajama-clad sticks and settling back to rest. He didn't mind the peace and quiet, really. The holidays were approaching, and being nice couldn't cost him anything.
Besides, the little brat was warm. He certainly wouldn't say no to a source of heat.
