Observations
I'm in the middle of reading book 4 and I had some observations I would like opinions on. Cut for spoilers.
So, I read the scene where Riley and Catherine get married and I had major problems with it. Not so much that they would get married, but that they would get married publically, with Catherine in uniform. There were women of the settlement on the ship who attended the wedding and considering how desperately the Corps wants to keep it quiet that there are women serving, I wonder why they would choose to have these civilians present at a wedding - knowing Cathering wouldn't be able to procure a dress and knowing that even if she did she would put her uniform back on and be recognizable. I know it was extinuating circumstances, but given the close proximity, wouldn't it have been more wise for her to stay out of sight as much as possible and for them to have as private of a wedding as possible - attended by the other aviators and the officers of the ship who could be trusted to be quiet? There was just something about the entire arrangement which seemed to me to prove false and I couldn't help but wonder why she wrote the scene that way and why they would trust it not to filter back out into society at large.
Anybody else's thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
