Who: Dominic and Alexandria When: Saturday Afternoon Why: Alex loves Dom Where: Starting outside the Great Hall Rating: Maybe R
Dominic was striding toward the Great Hall, his steps hard and angry. His thoughtlessness had gotten him into trouble before, but this was a new level of asinine, even for him. He'd sent the owl off minutes after being hit by the stinging hex, which it turned out Alex hadn't even been responsible for. He'd been furious and in pain, and he hadn't stopped to consider exactly what would happen after the initial humor faded from the situation. The idea for a love spell had come from his off the cuff comment to Sam the day before, and it had seemed funny and random when it didn't involve him in any way. Now, it wasn't so funny.
All he could think about was how to get through the day without letting Alex humiliate herself any more than she already had. She was a pain in the ass, no doubt. But she didn't deserve this. Worse, he had no idea why he'd chosen to make her fall in love with him and objectively he could see how that looked bad. Maybe it was for the best though. She seemed determined to get as close to him as humanly possible, but he couldn't let that happen. He couldn't let anything happen.
His world was going to shattered into a million pieces when the spell wore off. Best case scenario, she would never trust him again. They weren't the best of friends now, but this wasn't something you forgave someone for. Worst case scenario, she could try to make him pay for his stupidity. He wasn't sure exactly what the school rules were regarding this kind of thing, but it was safe to say casting love spells on people was frowned upon. Her father, his stepfather, would be infuriated. His mother would be horrified. Worse, she would be so disappointed in him. He'd violated Alexandria's mind, controlled her at a basic level, and no woman would forgive something like that. It was cruel and wrong and he fucking knew it.
The best he could do now was get her through the day with as little trauma as possible and beg for forgiveness after this was all over.
He spotted her as he rounded the corner. She was waiting for him. He wouldn't be surprised if she'd been waiting the last fifteen minutes. He knew how horrible this situation could turn. She was beyond infatuated with him and it wouldn't take much for things to get completely out of hand. As he drew level with her he gave her a brittle, pained smile. He was so angry with himself that he was almost shaking.
