SUMMARY: Hugh hasn't slept since Rhett's arrest, Henry finds him and gives him some fatherly advice.

Labor Day Weekend brings the celebration of Milly and Ronnie's anniversary, so the entire Cox family was invited out to the farm for grilling and an afternoon of relaxing and celebrating Grandpa and Grandma Cox's life together. Hugh and Marceline had discussed telling her family and decided that this would be a perfect opportunity to share the news of their engagement. Marceline has not worn her ring since she has been back, as she has not wanted to accidentally give anything away to customers or around town, if anyone was looking.

They arrived around the time that had been given them with several salads that Hugh had put together and a ring on Marceline's finger that had not existed there before. In typical Marceline fashion, she went to grab a beer and used this as an opportunity to show off that ring, turning to the person nearest her, and announcing off-handedly: "So I'm engaged now."

The moment they arrived, Grandma Cox's eyes zeroed in on the engagement ring because she has discreetly been checking Marce's hand for AWHILE now. Her eyes bugged a little, but then she quickly glanced away in any direction but the engagement ring and got a little too enthusiastic about Hugh's salads. It was a huge relief to her that she did not have to wait long for the announcement, and she spilled one of Hugh's salads, dropping it on the table to go hug Marceline. She hugged Marceline and then she hugged Hugh. Her eyes were a little teary because now ALL her granddaughters have found their Ronald. She thought this was the best possible day they could have made the announcement and is already plotting their wedding quilt. Once the announcement and reactions were over, Milly thought this had become the perfect time to bust out the good liquor, add some music and dancing, and make this an even bigger celebration.

Having talked to Hugh earlier, Ronnie was not surprised by this announcement, but was glad that it was now official, and he took some cigars out after the announcement to congratulate them. Clea was super happy and supportive of her sister's engagement.

WHERE: Isaac Blumenkrantz's Bellevue Office.
SUMMARY: Hugh stops by Isaac's office with the intention of giving him some life updates and he ends up making some decisions.
WARNINGS: Poor family relationships, unhealthy self-talk, and mild emotional manipulation. Use of present tense.

( Over the years, he's been trained to expect very little from these sorts of announcements. )

WHEN: Sunday, August 26, evening
WHERE: Henry's home
SUMMARY: Henry has set up a family dinner with the children. And lets the children in on some March family secrets.
WARNINGS: Discussion of child death, loss, abandonment

WHO: Hugh Christian & Marceline Cox
WHEN: Thursday, August 23 & Friday, August 24
WHERE: Treehouse Point, Burl Treehouse.
SUMMARY: Hugh planned a romantic getaway better suited for 76 degrees than 96 degrees, but he will make it work.
WARNINGS: I can't think of any.

[1] Can I ask a favor?

Today at around 11:30 a.m., MARCELINE COX and HUGH CHRISTIAN received frantic phone calls from Milly Cox. If they did not answer, she would leave them voicemails to CALL HER BACK IMMEDIATELY. IT IS AN EMERGENCY.

If they picked up, they would have received the message that Milly is completely out of ARNICA!! She desperately needs to create an ointment for one of the horses, but Milly's arnica supply has completely run out. She cannot make the remedy without it. Milly knows where there is some growing in the woods, but she's so swamped that she cannot go out and get it herself. IT IS AN EMERGENCY! PLEASE DROP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND HELP. SHE CAN GIVE YOU DIRECTIONS TO GET THERE. IT SHOULD ONLY TAKE AN HOUR.

If they followed Milly's directions to the spot in the woods where the arnica grows, instead of finding Milly's herbs, they'd come to a nice clearing. A big quilt has been spread across the ground and there's a picnic basket stuffed with food and a music player nestled on top of it.

WHO: Hugh and Blaze
WHEN: August 6
WHERE: Wolfe Farm, then the March House
SUMMARY: Hugh wants to explore some March history on his day off. He enlists Blaze to help, first by having Blaze show him some photos and then by asking for a tour. Some talk of ghosts occurs.
WARNINGS: Maybe a ghost story.
( He wasn't even entirely certain how he'd ended up here, and yet, he had questions, and Blaze was willing to answer them, and to show him around, and while he knew some of the locations and had been there with Marce, this was different. )

WHO: Hugh Christian & Diamond Mayweather
WHEN: Lunchtime, during one of Hugh's recent day's off.
WHERE: Matt's in the Market, Seattle
SUMMARY: After business talk, two siblings get to know each other a little.
WARNINGS: None that I can think of.

( Okay I didn’t believe in the whole nature vs nurture thing until now but damn, some things just have to be hard-wired. )

Lunch in the near future? Warning, I want to talk business, but also there are some places in Seattle I know you'd like if you haven't been there.

As noted on the filming schedule most of today's shots will involve HUGH CHRISTIAN and RUTO WEXLER almost exclusively, and there is some tongue time.

After the kissing scene has been gone over a few times MAXINE RYAN gets so sick of watching Ruto Wexler and Hugh Christian kiss that she “accidentally” walks through the scene requiring a reset, and new take.

While the reset is being organized MAX and RUTO vanish into RUTO’S trailer where several loud sounds can be overheard including …

“That was a long time ago!”

HUGH asks for a bottle of water.

“This is literally my FUCKING JOB.”

Upon receiving the bottle of water HUGH drinks half of it with what can only be described as a neutral expression.

“I would never do that to YOU.”

Glass breaking.

He finishes the bottle of water and thanks ELIZA for bringing it to him.

Overlapping LA LA LA LAAAA’s as they try to out-loud one another.

“That’s disgusting. Take that back, you bitch.”

“YOU FUCKING MAKE ME.”

HUGH retreats to his chair to ask Serena for a makeup touch-up, cause it's kind of hot out here isn't it?

Scuffling noises. A loud thump.

Eventually both emerge looking cool, calm, and collected and acting as though nothing had happened. Mention it and get an icy stare from Maxine. Ruto will need Serena to touch up her hair, which is a little frazzled, and make-up, which is a little smeared. While waiting on Ruto, Hugh will review camera angles and the best way to position his jawline so the camera can get the best view of Ruto's face, before they start up the retake.
