"It's just me." This murmured softly, reassuring. Now wasn't the time to worry about silly little things, and they all had good reason to be tense right now. It was a tense time and he didn't want to add to that at all. "Relax. Come and sit with me." His voice was still soft, concerned. He didn't want things like this to be happening around them.
"She's safe. Better having an adult than running off like last time, right?" Jackson eased himself and his friend back to the ground, not releasing him yet from the hug. He doubted anyone noticed the way they were acting honestly, and if they did? It wasn't their business.
