18th of January 2009, Ryo, Hiroki, Mie and Miyuki
Yawning as he grabbed another shirt from the washing machine - Ryo's red one - to hang it up, Hiroki shook his head while asking himself out loud why he was so tired. It was in the middle of the day after all and he had slept really good last night. He hadn't really done anything tiring today either, considering he had the day off... maybe that was why. Mie had still wanted to hang out with Miyuki though, even without getting paid. She hadn't said so, but Hiroki definitely could notice that Mie was acting more and more like a real older sister to Miyuki than a nanny lately and it was really adorable to see.
Once Ryo's shirt was in place, Hiroki sighed as he looked down and saw that there were still tons of laundry left. Normally he would just do half of it and say that Ryo should do the rest, but sometimes he really just felt that he had to do all, like today.
The next shirt he took up though, made him blink a few times and then stare at it for another few seconds. He recognized the model and the drawing on the front of it, but the color was completely different from the shirt that he had bought a few days ago. That shirt had been white, this one was a faint shade of red.
"What the fuck...," he mumbled to himself and brought the shirt a bit closer to look at it before letting out an annoyed sigh and threw it back down into the washing machine. He could take mistakes being done and Ryo screwing up - he definitely could. But that shirt was new and it hadn't been very cheap either.
"Ryo for fuck's sake!"
Frowning as he tried to concentrate on playing his guitar, Ryo ignored Hiroki for now, which in the long run probably was really stupid, but he really wanted to get this song done, it had been sitting in his head for days now.
“What?” He called out after a while though, writing down some notes on a piece of paper that rested on the table next to him. Having not caught the anger in Hiroki’s voice, or the words he had used, Ryo was completely oblivious to what was going on and why Hiroki had called his name...
The lack of interest in Ryo's voice made Hiroki even more annoyed though and thus he grabbed the shirt from the washing machine before he walked into the living room and held it up so that Ryo could see it.
"What the hell is this!?" he then asked and as Ryo looked up, he threw the shirt at him so it ended up laying over the guitar. "I bought that three days ago and then it was white!"
Rather surprised as he suddenly got a wet t-shirt thrown at him, Ryo could only stare at Hiroki with a frown on his face.
“What the…” he mumbled, stopping halfway as he realized that the said t-shirt was now all over his guitar. Hiroki had just thrown a wet t-shirt at his guitar. Now, -that- was uncalled for.
“What the heck Hiroki!?” the older one angrily asked as he stood up, removing the t-shirt and placing his precious guitar safely on the table. “What the fuck did I do!?”
"What you did!?" the younger one asked then, the sarcasm in his voice impossible to miss. As Ryo didn't seem to understand though, Hiroki quickly pointed at the shirt to make things clearer.
"That shirt cost 18 000 yen and -you- ruined it! That's what you did!"
“The fuck you go and put it into the wrong basket then!?” Ryo immediately argued back, not being one to back off, not this time around at least, it wasn’t his fault anyways. Why the heck did Hiroki put his shirt in the wrong place if it was such a precious thing, how the heck was Ryo supposed to notice it, it wasn’t like the checked every goddamn shirt he showed into the machine!
"It was a mistake!" Hiroki yelled back, of course knowing that Ryo would say the same thing if he didn't say anything else quickly.
"But if you would use your fuckin' eyes it shouldn't really have mattered! It's not THAT difficult to tell white from red or purple!"
“Well it’s not like I planned to ruin it!” the older one tried to defend himself, what the heck made Hiroki think he could just go and snap ‘cause of a t-shirt!! It wasn’t like he hadn’t done the same mistake before!
“The fuck you come snapping at me about it, like I noticed the shirt when I filled the machine!!?”
"That's normally what people do Ryo!" the taller one continued, almost feeling that he should slap the older one so he would understand already. Of course, nothing could be done about it now, but still. It wasn't that difficult to understand that Hiroki was upset, was it?
"You're so fucking stupid."
“What the fuck Hiroki? It’s just a shirt!” the older one yelled then, clearly upset now. Really, it was just a shirt, why the fuck did Hiroki have to make such a number out of it? He could buy a new one if it was -that- important, wasn’t like that was the only t-shirt in the whole goddamn world.
"An expensive one!" Hiroki immediately commented and then, instead of waiting for a reply he turned so he could get back to the washing machine and continue putting the clothes up. However he didn't get too far but just stopped as he was a few steps away from where he had stood before. Lowering his head a little, he leaned against the wall - still with his back to Ryo though - and took a deep breath.
He'd overreacted again, hadn't he?
Sitting back down on the chair with a sigh, Ryo rested his arms against his thighs as he looked down at the floor. What the heck had that been really? Sitting silently like that, Ryo glanced at the younger one. He knew he should apologize for the shirt, but right now he was too angry to say anything, it was just a shirt after all, was it really necessary for the younger one to throw a fit like that ‘cause of it?
Before long Hiroki continued to the washing machine again and continued with what he had been doing before. Of course there was no way he couldn't think of it though, right now Ryo and the yelling that had happened was all that occupied his mind. It was all his fault, wasn't it? Of course it was, it was... it was just like him - just like Uchi Hiroki to overreact and make a big deal about everything... and like...
Sighing, Hiroki put his hands at the top of the washing machine and closed his eyes while lowering his head. He probably should just apologize and admit that he had been overreacted... but at the same time, Ryo definitely should apologize about the shirt too, shouldn't he?
Licking his lips, Ryo let a minute or two pass before he stood up and went after Hiroki.
“Hey...,” he mumbled as he leaned against the doorframe, studying the younger one. Was it wrong of him to think that Hiroki looked really pretty when he got upset? Though on the other hand, when did he not look pretty? Pushing himself away from the doorway with a sigh, Ryo took a few steps and as he now stood close enough, placed his hand on the younger one’s waist.
“You okay?” he asked, the tone of his voice almost too soft compared to what it had been just a while ago. “Look, I’m sorry that I ruined your shirt but…”
When Ryo was standing so close to him now, speaking in a way that made it obvious that he actually was sorry but also a bit down about that he had gotten yelled at, Hiroki couldn't help but feel even worse. It was amazing how much could be said just by listening to the tone of one's voice.
Eventually Hiroki shook his head a little and mumbled a small apology too. He wanted to cry really bad right now, not because of the shirt of course but because of earlier... even if it wasn't a big fight or anything and they already had made up... for some reason it just felt as if he wanted to cry. He was really stupid after all, wasn't he? Yelling for no real reason and then making a scene and make Ryo bothered and angry and...
“Oi,” the older one then said, with a small and awkward smile on his lips.
“Don’t look so bothered about it…,” he mumbled, and without really thinking about it lifted his hand to the younger one’s face, stroking his cheek gently.
“Just go and get a new one, it’s not that big of a deal a'ight?” Ryo told him, hell, he could go and get that damn shirt for Hiroki if the younger one really wanted it that bad. “I’m sorry I screwed up okay?”
"It's okay...," Hiroki mumbled and shook his head once more as he tried to take a deep breath without having Ryo notice. He probably did notice though but as long as he didn't say anything it was okay.
Why had he been so stupid though, really? It had been really stupid and not really necessary and...
"Sorry..."
Watching Hiroki, Ryo couldn’t help but to feel like he deserved to get smacked on the head for causing him to look like that, so small and vulnerable. It was often like this though, no matter how furious he was when they fought, it often ended up like this, with Hiroki being close to tears if he wasn’t crying already and with Ryo feeling guilty for both making this happen and finding the younger one really attractive in his vulnerable state, this was something he didn’t really understand about himself, but when it came to the things Hiroki made him feel, there were many things Ryo couldn’t understand.
Leaning in, Ryo closed the distance between them by pressing his lips gently against Hiroki’s mouth.
Surprised Hiroki blinked then, and for a couple of seconds he was a bit lost at what to do. Though of course it didn't take him long before he answered the kiss and closed his eyes as well. He didn't mind this at all, somehow it just felt really great that Ryo kissed him because even if Hiroki knew that he wasn't angry about the yelling that had happened earlier, this sort of confirmed it even more. So this was a very, very good thing.
Pulling away for a few seconds, Ryo let his eyes linger on Hiroki. A tear was running down his cheek and for no reason really, it made the older smile at his husband. Kissing the trace it had left, Ryo wrapped his arms around Hiroki’s waist as he let his lips brush against the younger one’s ear, whispering sweet words to him as he pressed his lips down on the sensitive skin of his neck.
Hiroki closed his eyes hard then, for a few seconds just allowing himself to enjoy this as it was very, very enjoyable. Humming lowly in reply, as he knew that it didn't really matter and that Ryo liked him and all, Hiroki then leaned a bit closer to Ryo so he eventually could rest his head against the older one's. It was just a shirt, wasn't it? It didn't really matter that much...
“Sorry… really,” Ryo mumbled after a while, feeling a bit mean for having ruined Hiroki’s shirt like that, it was a really nice shirt too actually, though if you asked him, of course Ryo would prefer his man shirtless.
“Was tired when I did the laundry and I’ve had that song in my head for days so I wanted to get it done soon… Shouldn’t have been so careless…,” he then went on, trying to at least give some sort of an explanation, it was true though… but really, it wasn’t his fault alone.
"It's okay," Hiroki assured the older one again, because it really was okay by now. After all, it was just a shirt and not really that big of a deal. It wasn't worth fighting over and honestly Hiroki had no idea of why he had allowed it to become such a big deal.
"I'll get a new one, it's no big deal..."
”No..?” Ryo asked, grinning. ”You got my guitar wet,” he reminded the younger one, not that a wet t-shirt could really do any damage but still, Hiroki had thrown a wet t-shirt at him… which was actually really cute now that he thought about it, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t be a bit mean about it, mean in a loving way of course...
Thinking back of that, Hiroki let out a small 'ah' before lowering his head a bit while tightening his grip around the shorter one.
"Sorry...," he mumbled, knowing very well that it really hadn't done any damage but even so feeling bad about it. After all, it probably wasn't any fun to suddenly get a wet shirt thrown at you...
Laughing softly, Ryo shook his head and tightened his hold around the younger one’s waist. This was so random, good kind of random of course. It was really cool though, how they could easily end up like this even after a fight, of course it didn’t always happen as they had had their share of some really unpleasant fights as well but that was just life, and what mattered was that in the end, right now he had Hiroki in his arms and despite having had a really pointless fight just now everything was good.
“Can I have a kiss?” the older one asked then, his eyes still closed as he was resting his head against Hiroki’s.
Hiroki smiled softly at that and just let a few seconds pass for now. He didn't really mind, of course not, but for some reason he really just enjoyed staying still like this.
"Do you really want one?" he asked then after a while, of course not doubting that Ryo really wanted a kiss, but at the same time feeling a bit too lucky for it to be true. After all, he had caused a fight over a shirt and they had yelled at each other and now Ryo wanted a kiss? Really!
Was Hiroki really asking that? Really? Since when did he -not- want a kiss?
“No,” Ryo said then, leaning back in order to look at the younger one, for how long had they been together again?
“Why would I? It’s not like we’re married or anything, why am I even holding you in my arms?” he then said, looking at Hiroki with a serious expression on his face, despite his words though, the older one didn’t remove his arms around Hiroki’s waist but only tightened his hold around him. “Just give me that kiss already…”
The small smile on Hiroki's lips grew a little then as he leaned in to kiss Ryo again and this time let it last a bit longer. He really didn't mind, of course not, he loved kissing Ryo. But it wasn't as if everything could just happen 'like that' all the time... there would be no fun just doing things easily all the time, would it?
Mie's eyes widened a little and then she hurried to turn away in embarrassment. She knew of course that Ryo and Hiroki had been a couple for a while and she knew that they kissed and were close quite a lot but she had never had to witness a kiss before and she would have been rather happy not to do it now either.
"Sorry," she hurried to apologize, of course not thinking of how Ryo and Hiroki probably hadn't even noticed her before. Now they obviously did though but neither of them got a chance to say anything before Miyuki - dressed in her winter clothes - walked as fast as possible up to her parents and pulled a little at Ryo's pants.
Everything had happened a bit too quickly for Hiroki to manage to react to everything but once reality caught up with him he felt awfully embarrassed and hurried to turn around and continue hanging up the laundry. Despite knowing it was a lie, he repeated 'Mie did not see us' in his head over and over again until finally giving up and then let out a bothered sigh.
"Hi Miyuki," he greeted eventually though as the little girl kept calling for 'dad' and while Ryo was there to answer to it, it obviously wasn't enough.
Then he hesitantly glanced at Mie who was standing still with her head lowered.
"Thank you for today..."
When she heard that, Mie hurried to shake her head and hesitantly looked up at Hiroki. It was easy to see he was embarrassed but somehow it made her feel a bit better - at least she wasn't the only one.
"It's okay, I enjoyed it..."
Grinning widely at what was going on in front of him, Ryo then put his arm around Hiroki’s waist for a moment as he leaned in to kiss his cheek quickly before turning to lift the little girl into his arms. Maybe that was uncalled for in Hiroki’s opinion, but he didn’t know how kissable he looked with that faint blush on his face. Besides, that was what parents did, and they were totally the parents here so there was nothing to be ashamed of.
“Let’s go get you out of these…,” Ryo said and smiled at Miyuki, the poor girl was probably suffocating in her clothes. Walking past Mie on his way, Ryo also thanked her for the day as he headed towards the hallway. Sitting down on the floor with Miyuki so that he could easily get her out of her winter clothes, Ryo looked up at where the rest of the family was, because by now Mie felt very much like family despite being too old to be either of their daughter really.
“Would you like to stay for dinner?” he asked then, probably interrupting her and Hiroki’s discussion.
Hiroki blinked a couple of times in surprise at that. He didn't dislike having Mie over - she was a nice girl and they were more or less family by now, cousins or something - but how could Ryo ask that now? How could he ask that after what she had seen and... It would be totally awkward!
Mie was just as surprised as Hiroki, only not for the very same reason. She had had dinner with them before and it was nice to sit down and talk. Mostly they would talk about Miyuki of course but both Ryo and Hiroki were interested in her life as well. But wouldn't it be awfully rude to interrupt like this? They were both really busy, surely they would spend that time with each other and not with her?
"...but wouldn't that be..."
Having by now gotten Miyuki out of her clothes, Ryo let her go as he then got up as well, walking behind the little girl.
“It’s totally cool,” he said and ruffled the girl’s hair on his way to his husband, picking Miyuki up from the floor again as he didn’t really think it was good to let her play with the washing machine. “Right Hiroki?”
Cool? Yes of course it was cool if they wanted to give Mie ideas and then sit right in front of her knowing that she had seen them kiss and while kissing wasn't that big of a deal - they had done that in front of the members countless of times - doing it without really knowing, was!
"Yeah, sure," he eventually answered though, of course not about to tell Mie to get lost if Ryo wanted to have her here. He'd kill a certain husband later though.
”Yay~” the older one of the two parents then said as he lifted his daughter high up in his arms.
“Isn’t that fun Miyuki? Mie-chan will stay for dinner with us~” he talked to the little girl, ignoring how Hiroki didn’t seem just as excited as the little girl he held in his arms, he really loved this girl so much, it was amazing how she could get so excited with just this. Letting her back down and giving a gentle push on her back so that she’d start walking, Ryo then turned to talk to Mie who still stood by the doorway.
“Could you look after her while we fix something…?”
"O-of course!" Mie answered immediately and then took off her shoes so she instead could step into the slippers that were hers. After all, she stayed so much at this place so she had eventually ended up getting her personal slippers. Once her jacket was hanging on a hanger, she smiled down at Miyuki as she walked up to her.
"What should we doo~?"
Hiroki and Ryo left for the kitchen then and once they were there, the younger of the two let out a frustrated sigh.
"Why?" he asked lowly. Of course he didn't dislike the idea of having Mie around but this was so embarrassing and Ryo just enjoyed all of it. Miyuki loved Mie though so she was thrilled of course, but it really wasn't fair to do this... was it?
Leaning back against the counter, Hiroki looked at Ryo who was just looking way too pleased with himself right now.
"Ryooo..."
”Whaaat?” Ryo then asked, imitating the tone of Hiroki’s voice. Walking up to the younger one he immediately placed his hands back on Hiroki’s hips where they had been when Mie had gotten back with Miyuki.
“You don’t mind her staying do you?” he asked, kissing the side of Hiroki’s mouth before moving to kiss his neck, it was okay do stay like this for a bit wasn’t it? Not like Mie would randomly walk in again…
"I...," the younger one started then but didn't really get to say much more before Ryo started doing stupid stuff again. Not that he really minded, but as soon as he realized that Mie and Miyuki were just in the other room he hurried to push Ryo away.
"Ryo it was emb- don't you think it was embarrassing? I don't mind her staying but..."
Only laughing as he got pushed away, he had kind of expected to after all, Ryo shook his head as he went to check what they had in the fridge.
“No, but I think you look really cute when you blush,” he told Hiroki, a bit amused at the younger ones reaction… Though maybe that was a normal way to react and it was really Ryo who was the weird one here? Whichever it was, it didn’t change the fact that Hiroki was really cute when he blushed.
Hiroki fell silent then and just watched Ryo's back for a while. How could he be so careless about such private things? Would he be like that when Miyuki grew up too? Of course, now that she was so young it didn't really matter, but when she would be five or six years old? When she would be a teenager? Would he be that careless then too?
"You're so stupid...," Hiroki eventually said, his voice still low and it was rather obvious he didn't really mean that. Or... he sort of did, Ryo really was stupid, but... not in 'that' way, just in every other.
“No, really, it’s irresistible!” Ryo said, closing his eyes tightly as he made a face, still very much amused with the whole deal. Maybe it was bad, finding someone so irresistible… not that he really cared though, he just felt lucky for having someone as gorgeous as Hiroki, why had he invited Mie over again? It was really hard to concentrate on food for some reason.
“That’s the second time you’re calling me stupid today though, idiot,” he then mentioned, not really hurt at all but feeling like Hiroki should be told about this. “What’s up with that?”
"But you are!" Hiroki immediately argued, of course not about to take anything back now that Ryo pointed it out. Ryo was really stupid though, he could be really careless and when he wasn't he often took notice in the wrong things and it was all just really... what most people would call stupid.
"You can't seriously tell me you think otherwise?"
”Are you telling me I’m stupid for finding you attractive?” Ryo asked as he closed to fridge and turned to look at the younger one. Realizing that they had been here for a while now without even touching the food, the older one frowned. Had it been just the two of them he would’ve just ignored it, but they currently had two girls in the living room who were most likely both starting to get hungry, which meant that they should just get down to it now and save this for later…
“What are we going to eat?”
When Ryo put it like that, Hiroki couldn't help but feel really embarrassed. Of course he loved that Ryo found him attractive and he found Ryo just as (probably more though!) attractive too, but when the older one said it like that... somehow it was really embarrassing.
"Don't... don't say it like that...," he thus mumbled in reply, forcing himself to keep his chin up as there was no way he was going to show to Ryo that a comment like that could make him embarrassed. Though it was probably really visible already, but right now Hiroki was hoping that maybe he was just imagining it.
Grinning at the reaction that had come unexpected, Ryo decided that food could wait for a bit longer as he walked up to the younger one.
“Say it like what..?” he asked, eyes slightly narrowed and his voice low as he didn’t want Mie to hear them right now. Standing really close to the younger one, Ryo put his hand on the counter.
“You know, you’re making it really hard for me to concentrate on cooking…”
Whenever Ryo was close like this and Hiroki was embarrassed, the taller one couldn't help but look down in embarrassment. He could be bold of course, but right now he just wasn't in that kind of mood. He wasn't even close to bold right now, but just... embarrassed and he felt really stupid for even having said anything to begin with. And all of this because of a stupid shirt...
"S-sorry..."
Laughing a bit, Ryo shook his head.
“Like I mind?” he said then as he looked up at the younger one again. Nope, he didn’t mind the distraction at all, not when it came in such a pretty form at least. Grinning, Ryo moved so that he was now resting his arms against the counter on both sides of Hiroki, trapping the younger one like that. Not wasting any time, the older one pressed his lips against his husband’s, slowly taking the kiss a bit further until finally pulling away, lingering close as he rested his forehead against Hiroki’s. “Now help me with the cooking…”
Hiroki hummed lowly and then when Ryo stepped back, he let out a breath he hadn't noticed he was holding. It surely was because Ryo had been so close though - of course it was.
"I'm too weak for you...," the taller one of the couple mumbled then as he finally moved from where he had been standing and instead went to the rice-cooker and grabbed the bowl from there. No matter what they'd be eating they would need rice so he would do that.
Leaving the subject behind, Ryo moved back to the fridge and went through it again but turned to face Hiroki as he didn’t quite know what to make.
“What are we making?” he then asked, grinning at the younger one just for the heck of it, really, Hiroki knew nothing about being weak. But he didn’t have to know that, at least not now, though maybe it was just for the best that he kept his weaknesses to himself.
"Hm?" Hiroki asked as he was putting some rice in the bowl before he went to pour some water in it. "I don't know... nabe?"
Once the rice was taken care of, Hiroki hummed and shrugged as he turned to look at his husband. He honestly had no idea of what to eat, which was one part of why he didn't think it was too good of an idea to invite someone for dinner. They didn't even have anything planned!
But more than anything, he didn't look forward to actually sit down and eat... Ryo would probably say the most awful and embarrassing things.
It didn’t take too long before all the four of them were sitting by the kitchen table, Miyuki excitedly poking her food and even getting some of it in her mouth too with some help from Mie, Hiroki sitting next to Ryo, probably waiting for the worst, while on the other hand Ryo watched over his small family with a proud expression on his face.
“So what did you today?” he asked eventually, it was always fun to hear what Miyuki had been up to during the day, though all the same it also made him wish he could be there with her as she experienced new and exciting things.
Mie smiled up at Ryo and Hiroki, having forgotten (more or less) about the little embarrassing scene that had happened earlier.
"We went to the playground like usual," she replied cheerfully, looking at Miyuki and quickly corrected her hold around the spoon. Then turning to look at Ryo and Hiroki again she continued.
"She played with Rika-chan and a boy named Masa... for a really long time today actually."
Hiroki smiled at that and then looked at Miyuki who was too busy eating to listen to stories about what had happened today. It always made him really happy to hear that their daughter had friends though. To hear that she was having fun and all... of course he never thought otherwise, but as a parent you think a lot of your child and his or hers relations to other children... or at least that was what Hiroki thought and had been told.
“Ah, that’s awesome!” Ryo said excitedly, smiling widely at the image of their daughter playing outside, they really should go to the park, him and Hiroki and Miyuki together.
Listening to Mie’s stories about what had happened that day as they ate, asking about this and that and listening to Miyuki’s opinions that she made clear she wanted to get across – she might have been small, but her voice was rather powerful – it didn’t take long before they were all nearly done with eating.
“You should take the camera with you sometime, we haven’t really had the time for that but it’d be cool to have some pictures of her playing out no?” the older one of the parents suggested then, it was a shame that they hadn’t gotten many chances to do things like that, but it was the fact and there wasn’t much that could be done about it. Smiling at the two girls, under the table Ryo searched for Hiroki’s hand, entwining their fingers together.
Holding on to Ryo's hand tightly, Hiroki hummed in agreement and then glanced at Miyuki again.
"We don't have much time to take photos and such ourselves...," he commented and then looked at Mie who seemed to understand more or less everything they talked about. When they mentioned work and not having time, she was always so understanding.
"Still want some photos to put in the album for her, you know?"
"I understand!" Mie happily replied and nodded. "I'll bring my camera tomorrow then and will start taking pictures! I'm sure she will be really great on all of them."
“Of course she will,” Ryo said then with a wide smile on his face, looking at the small girl who still looked rather focused on her food. Of course she would look good on all of them, she was their girl after all.
“Thank you,” he added after a while, nodding a bit at Mie, he really appreciated how understanding and helpful she was. It was really awesome.
