When Hiroki heard the door close, he closed his eyes with a sigh and turned down the volume on the TV. Miyuki was already sleeping in her bed that he'd put in their bedroom (simply because he wanted to be able to watch TV), but even so he still felt the need to be quiet. As it obviously was Ryo who returned home and Hiroki was convinced that talking would happen, he thus turned down the volume so they wouldn't have to talk over the voices from the TV. "Welcome home," the younger of the couple said with a dry voice, not really meaning for it to sound like that but for some reason not minding as he realized how it sounded.
Tiredly kicking his shoes off, Ryo hummed in reply as he passed the living room on his way to the kitchen. Throwing his jacket onto one of the chairs around the table, Ryo walked to the kitchen counter and filled a glass with water, drinking it all in one go. "Where's Miyuki?" He mumbled as he walked back into the living room, sitting on the couch next to Hiroki, nearly lying down as he rested his back against the armrest.
"Sleeping in the bedroom," Hiroki answered shortly, not really liking the atmosphere around Ryo right now. There was just something about it that was a little hostile and if there was one thing Hiroki disliked, it was when things were getting close to- or even hostile when things usually went really... awkward. "Did you drink?," the younger one thus asked, not really able to smell any alcohol but that didn't have to mean Ryo was sober... just that he hadn't had too much.
"Hm?" Ryo mumbled, looking up at Hiroki as he had been staring at the TV, trying to figure out what on earth was going on in the talkshow that happened to be airing just then. "Just a few," He mumbled, not really understanding why Hiroki had even asked, it wasn't like he was drunk or anything. "The guy's insisted on going for a few after work..."
"Hmm 'kay," the younger one replied with a nod, not really sounding too interested. It was nice to know though, that Ryo had some alcohol in him. Like always really... maybe he should just go to bed? Hiroki knew he was making a big thing out of something small right now, but he couldn't really help feeling stupid and out of place - after all, he hadn't been with Ryo yesterday. He hadn't seen him at all today and while he didn't really demand much... wanting to see your own husband every now and then shouldn't be so damn impossible. NEWS were touring and Ryo was shooting a drama, Hiroki realized that he was busy... but when he actually had some time off - like yesterday. Yesterday he'd had time off and how had he chose to spend that? With his friends. Of course, it was his birthday so who was Hiroki to say something else? If Ryo preferred being with the guys over being with his family then who was he to stop him?
"Mm," Ryo mumbled then, nodding a bit as he turned his eyes back to the TV screen, not really noticing Hiroki's discomfort. He was rather tired, having partied with the guys yesterday without really taking it into consideration that he'd had to get up the next morning. It had been fun though, to hang out with everyone, sure he saw most of the guys at work as well, but it was different.. and he had quite missed partying, it had been a while since he had gone clubbing after all.
Hiroki wasn't sure of what it was, it wasn't as if he didn't get attention after all. Ryo gave him a lot of attention all the time, as much as he could, usually. But for some reason, right now Hiroki just wanted to get asked 'how are you'. He wanted to get some kind of attention from Ryo but instead the older one was sounding almost as if he was about to fall asleep. If he wanted to fall asleep though, then Hiroki wouldn't be in the way for it.
"I'll go to bed," Hiroki announced as he rose from his seat. Maybe he was just lacking some sleep or something, maybe that was why he felt so lonely and... unimportant and everything else right now.
Yawning a bit, Ryo made a weak attempt at reaching out for Hiroki before lying down on the couch again. Why was the younger one in such hurry? And hadn't he just said that Miyuki was sleeping in the bedroom, so if they would go there then.. then sleeping would most likely happen, which of course was fine, sleeping was always fine, but he wouldn't mind cuddling with the younger one for a bit first ..or something, but with Miyuki in the same room the chances of anything happening were quite low.. "I'll come in a bit too.." He mumbled then, his eyes still on the TV.
"You'll fall asleep if you stay here much longer," Hiroki said then and turned as he stood in the doorway towards the hallway. "You're obviously really tired and if you're gonna get up in time for tomorrow you have to sleep already. Staying in that position will probably make your neck ache too." Hiroki wasn't sure of why he was being like this right now, but for some reason, looking at Ryo who was so carelessly laying in the couch, watching TV while looking more dead than alive... it made him angry. He didn't get to spend any time at all with his boyfriend lately, why was that!?
Getting up from the couch with a sigh, Ryo reached for the remote and shut down the TV before turning to look over where Hiroki stood. He didn't really mind the younger one nagging on him, it was really only for his own good anyway, he knew he shouldn't fall asleep on the couch, but right now he would lie if he'd say he wasn't just a little bit irritated about it. "Yeah okay fine," He mumbled as he got up and walked towards the bathroom, feeling awfully bothered about pretty much everything right now, why couldn't they just lie down on the couch and have some fun? This was so bothersome, and why was Hiroki so cold? After having not seen each other too much for a few days, this wasn't something he expected to get from him.
Hiroki stood still even after Ryo had passed him. It wasn't until he heard how Ryo had turned on the water in the bathroom that he moved and as he did he only walked to stand in the doorway while looking at the older one. "What?," he asked, annoyance clear in his voice. "You don't have to sound so damn annoyed, it's not -my- fault you got back late and have an early morning, is it?"
Glaring at Hiroki with his toothbrush still in his mouth, Ryo bend over the sink to spit and then turned to look at the younger one again. "No, did I say it is?" He shot back, not at all in the mood for this. Right now it felt as if Hiroki was trying his best to make things even worse. Sure, he knew it was his own fault that he was so tired, of course he could've skipped going to the bar for a few with the guys, but he already did that a lot, and he didn't really want his friends to think of him as one of those guys who, when they get married and build a family, just sit at home and quit 'having fun' and all that, he already got teased for being "the family guy", so was it too much asked if he went out with them once in a while?
"Not everything needs to be said out loud," Hiroki said in reply to that, crossing his arms out of pure habit. "If you had a bad day at work or with your friends or whatever, could you please not bring it with you home? It ruins the mood." Hiroki knew that wasn't true - he wanted for Ryo to tell him what happened at work if something happened. If he was annoyed at some friend and wanted to talk about it, then Hiroki would love to listen, but right now he couldn't help but feel just a little bit hurt and thus said things like these. He'd regret it later though.
Angrily placing his toothbrush back into it's mug, Ryo washed his face before grabbing his towel with him as he pushed through the doorway past Hiroki while drying his face. "You know what?" He turned to face the taller one as they stood in the hallway. "As far as I know this is my fucking apartment, and I can bring whatever I want home with me," What right did Hiroki think he had to say things like that? That really sounded as if he couldn't care less about him, like Ryo could suffer alone all he wanted but on the second he stepped in that door he was supposed to be some perfect happy go lucky husband you only saw in TV commercials? That did not settle very well inside him. "If you have some troubles with that then feel free to leave, no one's demanding you to stay here if it bothers you so damn much to see me like this."
For a few seconds Hiroki just stared at Ryo, wondering whether or not the older one was actually serious. As he realized that he was though, Hiroki nodded slowly. "Good," he said and with that turned to walk towards the door. Before Ryo had had a chance to reply, Hiroki had taken on his jacket and his shoes so he'd be able to leave. When walking down the stairs, he felt how tears burned in his eyes and he mumbled curses over and over again, cursing just how selfish and idiotic Ryo was. Where he was going? Probably walking around for a while and then he'd call Kazuya or maybe Keiichiro. Had it not been for that Yui was living with Jin, he would call her. Maybe Saki wasn't sleeping yet... but she lived with her parents, didn't she?
Staring at the now closed door, Ryo cursed out loud before kicking the wall to his right. Hiroki had actually left, he had actually -left-, was he really that awful? That Hiroki really couldn't look at him right now? A minute or two passed with him standing in the hallway, until a quiet but rather unpleased sound woke him up from his thoughts, and with a sigh Ryo walked to the bedroom. "Sorry," He mumbled as he walked next to Miyuki's crib, leaning over the rail to soothingly stroke her hair. "Did I wake you up?" Ryo asked as he lifted the little girl up, holding her safely in his arms, she was so cute though, clinging onto him like she did. At least there was someone in the apartment who didn't mind him around.
"It's understandable, isn't it!?," Hiroki asked as he walked around with the phone against his ear. Listening to what Hikari had to say. She was so wise, always knew what to say. Right now she was telling him how Ryo was probably stressed and missed hanging with his friends - Hiroki knew all of that already. He knew that Ryo treasured his friends more than anything and he knew that he was demanding a bit too much with wanting him around all the time, but he simply couldn't... do without him right now. He had, for some reason, gotten into a period when he wanted to be with Ryo all the time and it was difficult to even walk a day without seeing him. "Mm...," he hummed as Hikari asked if he was still listening. "Sorry for waking you up... talk to you later, sleep well," he finished the call and then put his phone into his pocket again. There was no way he was walking home just yet though - maybe he wouldn't. No, he probably wouldn't at all actually - he'd just... find some hotel or something.
Staring at his phone, Ryo drank what was left of his fourth (or was this fifth?) bottle of beer. He had called Hiroki at least seven, okay so maybe nine times already and every single time the line had been busy, which meant the younger one was on phone with someone else, someone else that wasn't him and probably didn't have anything nearly as important to tell to Hiroki as he did. Miyuki had fallen asleep at least an hour ago, which had left him alone, and awake, and now drunk, and it was an underestimate to say that he felt lonely and in need of company, not anyone's company but especially Hiroki's, if only the idiot would answer his phone though. Ryo felt awfully guilty for having said what he had and therefore sent the younger one outside, in the middle of the night, alone, yes he did feel like panicking, though maybe that was just the beer causing him to overreact. Feeling rather desperate, Ryo let out a whine as he dialed Hiroki's number yet again, waiting for him to pick up...
When Hiroki saw Ryo's name on the display, he wanted to cancel the call immediately. He wanted to ignore it and not pick up - but no matter how much he wanted -that- he couldn't ignore the feeling in his stomach that was slowly killing him. He missed Ryo after all, he missed him so much and now he was outside - further away from him than he had been in the apartment. Drying his cheeks one more time, Hiroki stopped and leaned back against a house before answering. "What?," he asked, his voice not as annoyed as it had been earlier but not really showing any signs of happiness either.
"Come back?" Ryo blurted out as soon as he heard Hiroki pick up, not really knowing what else to say or in which order to say what he wanted to say. "Come back..," He mumbled, he didn't want for Hiroki to go and spend a night over someone else's place, and he certainly didn't want for him to go to Osaka, a tiny shot of panic ran through him as he realized he didn't know where the younger one was, to think that he could currently be on his way to Osaka, sitting in some train and then he would go home and then Hiroki's father would hate him even more than he did already and- "Hiroki? Hiroki I'm sorry," He went on hasty, holding onto his phone tightly. "Please come back home, I'll.. I'll.."
Hiroki could immediately tell that Ryo was drunk as he slurred his words together and it was difficult to tell what he actually said. Though, of course Hiroki understood and it would be a lie to say that he didn't get a little affected, of course he did. Ryo was begging him to get back home after all. And he wanted to, Hiroki definitely wanted to but... "Ryo..."
Biting his lip as he heard Hiroki say his name, Ryo held back the rather desperate whimper that had been about to escape him. The way Hiroki had said his name didn't sound good at all, it sounded like he was about to tell him that no he wouldn't come back but that it was okay or something stupid like that and he didn't want to hear it. "I'm sorry, I really am!" He slurred, cursing the fact that he could feel tears gathering in the corners of his eyes out of frustration. "Will you come home..?" He asked, his voice a bit more quiet than it had been a while ago. "Miyuki is sleeping and I..." He looked around where he sat on the living room floor, beer bottles scattered around him as if to make sure that people would notice how pathetic he was. "Hiroki please come home," He begged as he collected as many bottles as he could in his free hand and took them into the kitchen. "I love you, just come back okay?"
How long had he been gone? Hiroki didn't know, but it couldn't possibly be more than maybe two - possibly three - hours and Ryo already sounded as if he was at the edge of tears. If he wanted to be with him this much, then why was he out so late and got so tired so he practically only had time to sleep before he'd get up again? "Ryo... how much have you had?," Hiroki asked carefully as he turned around and headed back to the neighborhood where they lived.
Blinking a bit at Hiroki's question, Ryo counted the bottles he had just brought to kitchen in his mind, there hadn't been more than five of them had there? They probably didn't even have more than that... But that meant he had drunken all they had in the fridge? That didn't sound very good. "..Four.. Five?" He mumbled, hoping Hiroki wouldn't get angry at him, since hadn't this whole thing started because he had gone drinking? Why was Hiroki asking such stupid questions anyways, couldn't he just tell him where he was, or if he was coming home, what if he wouldn't come home? That would be bad.
"Where are you?" Sighing as he heard the number, Hiroki shook his head and sped up his pace a little. "I'm on my way home," he mumbled in reply, "I'll hang up now and I'll see you in ten minutes, okay?" Ryo only got to hum in reply before Hiroki hung up and once the cell phone was in his pocket he started jogging. He wouldn't run superfast back home, but if he wanted to be back any time soon he ought to get there a bit faster than just walking. Twelve minutes later, Hiroki took a couple of deep breaths before he opened the front door and walked inside. "Hello?," he asked out loud, locking the door as he waited for a reply. He didn't honestly expect Ryo to still be up though - it was late and he had been drinking... more. For some stupid reason... it'd be natural and normal if he had fallen asleep.
Perking up as he heard Hiroki arrive, Ryo took a deep breath as he pressed the palms of his hands against his eyes. He didn't get up from where he sat next to Miyuki's crib though, but instead shouted back at Hiroki in a low voice, letting him know where he was. He didn't feel like standing up right now, nor walking into the brightly lit up hallway. But surely Hiroki would come there, now that he had finally gotten back, and then Ryo could apologise properly and all that, and just hold the younger one in his arms, he really wanted to hold Hiroki right now.
A small smile formed on the younger one's lips as he heard Ryo's voice and after having stepped out of his shoes and put his jacket on the hanger, Hiroki soon found his way to the bedroom. Staying just a few steps away from the door though, Hiroki looked down at Ryo and their sleeping daughter. "Hi..."
"Hi.." Ryo mumbled back, not looking up to Hiroki just yet, but instead letting his eyes rest on the little girl that slept peacefully. He didn't really know what to say or do now that Hiroki was here, a part of him wanted to just get up and walk up to Hiroki and apologise to him and hold him close, but then a part of him knew he wasn't the only one to blame here, the fight wasn't his fault alone. "I'm sorry.." He ended up mumbling though, as he turned to look at the younger one, hoping his eyes wouldn't give him away immediately, it was a bit embarrassing after all for him, to cry like that, he was so tired though, and now this - one couldn't really expect him to be able to handle it all at once, he had his limits too, he did get exhausted too.
As Ryo looked at him like that, there was no way that Hiroki couldn't feel guilty. He had probably overreacted, he'd been acting like a baby perhaps and then just stormed out like he had. But at the time it had felt like the right thing to do - to just leave when all he wanted was to be close to the older one. "Mm...," Hiroki hummed in reply, easily noticing the traces of tears on Ryo's cheeks in the dim light of the lamp on the bedside table. But probably his own was visible too so it didn't really matter, all that mattered was that Ryo was there now and that Hiroki was too. "Me too... I'm sorry..."
Smiling a bit awkwardly, Ryo motioned the younger one to join him on the floor, wrapping his arm round Hiroki as the younger one sat down next to him. "I'm sorry I'm drunk.." He slurred, though not as badly as he had on the phone, and leaned to rest his head on Hiroki's shoulder. He shouldn't have had drunk though, it wasn't only stupid of him, but also irresponsible considering he had been home alone with Miyuki. And he had work tomorrow too.. man he just knew how to screw things up didn't he? Tomorrow he would refuse every damn offer to go out for a few though, and proudly be the boring family guy he was, family was best after all, not like the others would know though, their loss.
"Nn...," Hiroki hummed as he shook his head. It wasn't fair of him after all, to demand this and that of Ryo all the time when he knew how busy the older one was. He knew he was busy and he knew that it was difficult to cope with sometimes and he knew, he knew very damn well just how much Ryo loved hanging out with his friends after all. And it was a rule Hiroki had set for himself - not to be selfish and not be one of those who demands their husband to be home all the time. "I just... miss you... a lot lately...," the younger one whispered in reply and put his both hands on Ryo's arm. "And... you're... busy and...," Hiroki cut himself off as he felt how tears threatened to run down his cheeks again. He didn't like being like this, he didn't like it at all so instead he just leaned against Ryo and closed his eyes, somehow feeling as if that made his pathetic, possessive self disappear a little bit more. "Sorry..."
Humming lowly, Ryo shifted around a little bit, trying to get comfortable. It didn't feel right though, to just sit like this, somehow he wanted to have Hiroki even closer, to have hold him tighter and closer. Removing his hand from around Hiroki's shoulders, Ryo sat up slightly before moving so that he was now straddling Hiroki's lap. With a weak smile on his face he wiped the tears off Hiroki's cheek with his thumb before leaning forward and closing the younger one in a tight embrace, hiding his face in the crook of his neck. "Stupid," He mumbled lowly, "I miss you too.."
On any other day, Hiroki would think of this position as suggestive, but as tonight was -tonight- he really couldn't think of anything else but how he just missed having Ryo around all the time. To hear that Ryo missed him too, immediately brought tears to his eyes and before long they'd started running down his cheeks again. "You're out all the time...," Hiroki sobbed as he held on to Ryo tight.
Holding onto the younger one even tighter as he heard him sob, Ryo mentally kicked himself for making things like this again. But he hadn't really thought of it like that, he didn't go out all the time did he? He didn't really, it wasn't like he went out with the guys every night or something, or even every week.. He was just busy, there was a lot going on at work, and Hiroki should know it.. Though, he couldn't really blame work either could he? If he had a lot of work then he should spend the little free time he had at home shouldn't he? Instead of getting wasted.. though he was home now, and wasted, way to go really. Was he really 24 already? Somehow he didn't feel mature at all.. "Seems like," He started, pausing to let out a shaky breath he hadn't even noticed he had been holding. "Seems like I haven't grown up at all.."
Hiroki closed his eyes then and tightened his grip around Ryo a little. It wasn't his fault, was it? It was really just Hiroki acting too much like a possessive boyfriend who wouldn't want for his boyfriend to enjoy himself. That wasn't true though, it definitely wasn't! He wanted for Ryo to enjoy himself and have friends and hang out with friends... "I'm sorry...," the younger one mumbled again, "I'm asking too much... I'm sorry..."
Shaking his head, Ryo leaned back from the embrace and instead rested his forehead against Hiroki's, watching the younger one from behind his bangs. "No you're not.." He mumbled silently, lifting a hand to cup Hiroki's face in to his hand as he ran his thumb over the wet cheek. "I'm the worst really..," He whispered, that was the truth though, he was probably the worst husband ever. "..I can't even make you happy..." He had promised hadn't he... And now look at them? Certainly, Hiroki didn't seem happy at all, and neither did he.
"No you're not...," Hiroki started, looking back at the older one. "I don't want to be together with 'the worst' because I don't like those people but I really, really want to be together with you and thus you can't possibly be 'the worst' because... because you just..." Moving away his head so it rested against Ryo's shoulder instead, Hiroki again held on to Ryo tighter. "You're not the worst..."
Ryo couldn't help but to smile at Hiroki then, there he was, being silly again. Wrapping both of his arms around Hiroki's shoulders, Ryo sighed a little. "Wanna go to bed?" He mumbled after a while, not knowing what else to say, and lying down did sound like a good plan right now, though he didn't look forward to waking up at all, not when he knew he had work in the morning. Working with a hangover two days in row, something he would not like to repeat ever again.
The two of them moved from the floor so they'd get up to the bed and once under the covers, with much less clothes on, Hiroki hurried to cling on to Ryo again. "Sorry...," he mumbled in a low voice once he'd managed to make both of their covers to act as just one big. Maybe they should just get one big cover? "I ruined today... I didn't mean to..."
Pulling Hiroki closer against him, Ryo closed his eyes as he hummed lowly. "You haven't ruined anything," He mumbled, not slurring so badly anymore. Was he really supposed to wake up in the morning and go to work? This most definitely would be the last time he drank so much when he had work to do. "It's me who should apologise, for always screwing this up.."
"It's not a big deal really...," the younger one mumbled in reply then, very careful with keeping his voice down as he didn't want to wake Miyuki up. "I'm just... stupid..." Because that was what the problem here, wasn't it? It was he who was stupid to overreact just because he didn't have his boyfriend with him all the time...
Moving to lay so that he rested on his elbow, Ryo brushed some of Hiroki's hair off his face. "You're not," He mumbled before leaning down to press his lips against the side of Hiroki's mouth. Hiroki was faraway from stupid, he might be silly, but stupid? Not really.. Or well.. "You're stupid for marrying someone like me," He mumbled, hiding his face in the crook of Hiroki's neck as he brushed his thumb over the younger one's cheek.
For a couple of seconds, Hiroki was silent. He wasn't quite sure of what he wanted to say right now. He didn't think of himself as -very- stupid, but his behavior was really stupid sometimes, but to say that he was stupid for marrying Ryo... that was almost as if to say that he was stupid for liking him in the first place. If that made someone stupid, then he'd gladly be. "I love you, stupid...," the younger one answered after a while and smiled a little. "A lot..."
Lying there silently for a while, Ryo just held the younger one in his arms before moving so that he could softly press his lips against Hiroki's neck. "Thanks.." He whispered, lips brushing against the sensitive skin. He didn't really know what else to say, and he was thankful though, really thankful and.. "I love you too."
