Andrei was sitting outside Sasha's door, giving it a few thumps with his hand. He waited a while. No answer.
Hmm. It worked well enough for cats.
He needed food. Better yet, money for food. He had be careful with his words. If he just asked for food Sasha would probably take it literally to be maddening, and feed him brussel sprouts or wheatgrass or something equally repulsive.
He stood up and knocked again.
