Moonlight has officially been canceled by CBS.

To be quite honest, since this asylum gets very little traffic anyway, I'll be upfront and say I will not be putting effort into reposting information on the current "Save our Show" campaign. It's too much for one person and, because of the slow traffic here, rather unnecessary, IMO.

If anyone would like to do so, you're perfectly welcome to. This asylum has open posting. However, if you're not into taking initiative, I'd recommend following the moonlight_tv community over on LiveJournal. There is also an IJ RSS feed here: moonlight_tv_lj.

Rumors are beginning to stir that there's a very small chance of it being picked up by the CW since it's both a CBS and WB production. However, the chances are... very small. Cross your fingers and knock on wood.

But that said, after this Friday's episode, I won't be trying to initiate meta discussions on the show or it's renewal. I hope that you'll all read the feed for the LJ community, if anything, and keep up on what's going on. Hopefully we'll get our show back.

I'm a big fan of Moonlight. I admit, at first I was among the group of people saying "Another vampire PI series??" but I was quickly won over. My favorite thing on the show is the banter. The playful bits of dialogue never fail to make me smile. I sound like such a dweeb saying that, but it's the truth.

I had an inquiry! I was wondering, if I was to start a Moonlight RP here on InsaneJournal how many of you would be interested in joining and participating?

While The Price Is Right is running on Friday nights, the plan is to go to http://www.cbs.com and to all watch the same episode of Moonlight with the intention of sending CBS a message. We do know that they pay attention to what we're watching on CBS.com, so it should be obvious that we're not watching the available "current" programming.

And as someone commented there, even if you don't have time to watch the whole thing, you can just start the file and let it run in the background. Especially now that the writers are being paid for it! :)

News via moonlight_tv on LJ here and here, CBS has released a press release announcing the number of episodes left in the current season for all of their shows here.

Moonlight will be returning on April 11th with 4 new episodes. WOHOOO!!! :)

Hey guys,

The TV Decoder Blog has posted a list of how current shows have been affected and how they may (or may not) resume once the strike is over. It's not Moonlight specific, but it's definitely of general interest for TV fans in general.

Moonlight is currently listed as being "likely to return in the fall" (i.e. unlikely to produce new episodes this season), which I think most of us have been able to surmise at this point, but I thought I'd pass this along anyway.

Also, if you're interested in possibly upping the chances of us being able to get Moonlight on DVD, Amazon is currently taking notification requests, and Netflix has Moonlight listed to be "saved" (since it's not officially going to be released yet, you can't add it straight to your queue.)

So if you're interested in uh, helping the process along, it might be a nice idea to sign up for either or both of those to show that there's definitely a demand for the DVDs if (and when) they do decide to release them.

So now that Moonlight is on hiatus for the duration of the WGA strike and beyond, what are some other vampire shows that you all have watched over the years?

Personally, I was never that much into Buffy. The mythology never really appealed to me, neither did the actors... blasphemous, I know :D And I've got Forever Knight in my netflix queue. What about you all?
