How To Save A Life
Title: How to Save a Life

"In a thousand years time, you won't remember me." Ianto whispered, eyes closed.

"Yes I will. I promise, I will," Jack promised, "Ianto? Ianto? Don't go, don't leave me, please. Please, don't." He held his lover close to him as he started to mourn.

"He will die. And tomorrow your people will deliver the children." The 456 commented. Jack turned his attention to the box of smoke and gave them a look of hatred that they didn't see at all. After a moment, he turned back to Ianto and kissed him gently before lying down next to him and let go of this life.

He wandered through the darkness and idly wondered how long it'll be before the familiar pull returns and he comes back to consciousness.

"Jack," A quiet, tired voice echoes through the darkness. It repeats. The pull comes, dragging him across the glass back into the world of the living.

Jack opened his eyes to ice blue ones above his face. A flicker of relief flashes through them before the worry replaces it again.

"Ianto? But you-" Jack whispers before the Welshman's lips touch his.

"You did it, somehow. Like you did after Lisa-" he lets the sentence fall as the door bursts open and people hurry into the room.
