Of Snowballs and Studies Title: Of Snowballs and Studies (1/1) Author:blue_siofra Rating: G Characters: Hermione Granger/Charlie Eppes (of Numb3rs) Beta: Cazzadragon Summary: Hermione notices someone in class.
“The first snowfall is always so magical.” Hermione thought to herself as she pulled her collar closer together and hurried up the steps of the school. After leaving Hogwarts, she decided she wanted to go to an American college for a degree. She took the tests and made it into a prestigious east coast school, and was in the middle of her first semester. She was heading off to her math class, homework completed and ready to take notes.
Once class started, the professor started the lecture on the subject of the day; Hermione couldn’t help but notice the boy in the front of the class, feverously writing notes. “He looks like he’s only about fifteen.” Hermione thought to herself. She kept an eye on him the rest of the class, while taking notes herself. Once class was dismissed, Hermione hurried to the young boy. She caught up with him outside in the courtyard between buildings.
“Hello. I’m Hermione. I’m in your math class this semester.” She stretched her hand out. The boy looked up from his notes and looked at her.
“Hello. I’m Charlie.” he shook her hand. She smiled at him.
“I noticed that you were taking lots of notes today. Would you like a study partner?” Charlie was quiet for a moment.
“I am perfectly capable of studying by myself.”
“Oh, well would you like to get a cup of coffee in the student cafeteria then? It’s pretty nippy out here.” Just then, a snowball came out of nowhere and hit Charlie square in the back, causing him to drop his books.
“Hey Eppes! Go back to Kindergarden!” one of the students shouted out. Hermione rolled her eyes. She turned around and made a few snowballs herself and threw them all at once, using a little bit of magic to make them hit their targets.
“W-wow. That was fantastic. How did you do that?” Charlie asked, picking up his books. Hermione bent down to help.
“Let’s just say that I’ve had some practice in that area.” She smiled as she helped Charlie back up. He nodded.
“Well, thanks for the help and the offer. I better go do my homework now.” he hurried away before Hermione could call after him. “How strange.” she thought as she watched him scurry away.

Hermione continued to watch little Charlie. The last class before Christmas break, she gathered up her nerves and asked him out. He stuttered, and said he would have to ask his mother. Hermione offered to walk him to his dorm, where she met his mother. Mrs. Eppes and Hermione got along great and she told Hermione that she could date her brilliant son. So after Christmas break, Hermione and Charlie had their first date, and they stayed together until they both graduated.
