how does your character look like?: Aziraphale's been in human form since the beginning, but only his current appearance is described, scarcely. He's very British, probably in his mid thirties, with blond hair and wearing glasses that he doesn't need. Handsome in an old fashioned way, he looks "gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide" all dressed up in tweed and tartan, with impeccable manicure. Or, as Crowley said, on those occasions when the angel managed to get his mind into the twentieth century, it always gravitated to 1950.

does the character have supernatural/magical/preternatural powers? Well, he is an angel, so he can do pretty much anything he likes. BUT: o1. he tries to keep his identity hidden, so he will avoid showing any supernatural power in front of humans, or, in case it can't be avoided, deny it with vehemence; o2. he has to let humanity solve its own problems so he won't do anything grand scale.

does your character have any ‘normal’ talents? He's more of an anti-talent, really.

describe your character’s personality As angels go, Aziraphale is almost always amiable and courteous, but not necessarily nice; one gets the impression that he oozes over helping Anathema out of the ditch more to the purpose of keeping up appearances in front of Crowley than out of severe genuine concern. While he cares about humanity and all living creatures (especially Crowley, to his repeated and agitated internal admission), he can be surprisingly careless, as in the case of the dove he lets perish in his coat sleeve. Also, Aziraphale gets easily wrapped up in his thoughts and affairs, often to the point that he becomes blind to the painfully apparent need of others.

He's a pretty nonchalant liar, he even lies to God, pretending he forgot where he put his flaming sword.

One of the reasons why he likes humans is rather selfish: their free will keeps him entertained. Actually, Aziraphale's convinced to work on avoiding the Armageddon by the thought of watching Sound of Music on repeat for eternity.

familiarize us with your character’s history Aziraphale was the angel guarding the Eastern Gate of Heaven and showed a fondness for humans since the beginning, giving his flaming sword to the first people.

He spent the centuries under different names (i.e. Mr. A. Fell) and different occupations, with a constant: he gathered as many first edition books as he could. In present times he owns a little Soho bookshop, his way of keeping all of his books conveniently because if he were totally honest with himself he would have to admit that his bookshop was simply somewhere to store them, as he uses every means short of physical violence to prevent customers from making a purchase.

He was recently involved in adverting the Apocalypse, despite the wishes of both Above and Below.
