Hi Everyone!

I'm Steph, I'm new and I'll be playing Jimmy's ex-wife, Elizabeth Martin here at Bump. More of her info is here but she is a fast-rising Prosecutor working in the DA's office and has strong political ambitions. Basically, she's a victory-at-all-costs, workaholic. Stubborn as a mule in a lot of ways and very cagey when it comes to the deeper things about herself. She comes from a money family - her father was a self-made tycoon, her mother was old money which, in spite of how much she rebelled growing up still shows in her dress and her polish in public. Most of the time she presents herself as very elegant and controlled but distant. She does dote on her goddaughter Grace, as much as she is oil and water with Jason and still harbors a lot of hidden feelings for Jimmy. Looking forward to playing with you all!

So after looking at the feedback (thank you, all), we're having Monroe win by a very slight margin. When we say slight, we mean it. As in one of those where it's not over until everything has been counted, and there was a question about a couple of polls so they had to recount. That sort of election. So even thought it's a relief that Monroe won, it would still be an area of concern that so much of the voting public wanted Reems.

Also keep in mind that Reems is still in office by his own right and that he has his supporters. There will still be opportunity for limiting legislation to be brought up so we can still have politically based plots.

We'll have an IC closed announcement posted soon, and feel free to react/refer to the election in posts.

Okay, loves, election would have been Tuesday (aka 11.05.12) so we need to pick our president. Rather than just flipping a coin or something, we thought it'd be better to have a for serious vote.

ETA: And I should have thought of this earlier, but just because we don't go with Reems doesn't mean we won't have some political anti-Spook legislation to deal with since Monroe isn't exactly Pro on the issue so much as non-committal. It's very possible that people in the Senate and Congress will be working their own agendas and things can be brought out and potentially passed that way.

Quick mod announcement;

1 - Can I direct everyone's attention to this post here? I'm compiling birthdays, mostly because I am lame and anal about dates. If you could drop a comment there with the birthdays of your characters, I'll get everyone added up.

2 - We're working on time updates right now - would anyone object to us skipping forward (after the current week ends) to the week leading up to Halloween? It still gives pups time to be oogly and boogly in the runup to Goth Christmas, but it means we can advance plotlines a little. Either comment here, or contact one of the mods on AIM to let us know what you think. :)

H'okay people, there is the first of (hopefully) many regular party posts at Dead Until Dark up here. Now, just because Gabe's started the post, doesn't mean you have to talk to him. He'll be very hurt if you don't, though.

Gabe's basically there to open up the post. He'll be around all night, head up to the bar and chat if you want. Otherwise, you can post your pup in - either wanting to talk to someone specific, or just to be sociable. Go wild. Mingle. That's why we're here, after all.

Monday is karaoke night, so there will be a mix of good and not-so-good singers up on stage. Join in if you like, and if not, feel free to critique any and all comers. Just remember this is a were-heavy bar, which means a) excellent hearing and b) lots of very strong, potentially deadly folk around.
