Amy is wondering wtf ([info]amboot) wrote in [info]buggerallrpg,

Entry tags:amy boot, matthew kirke

WHO: Amy Boot and Matt Kirke
WHAT: Amy is visiting Matt at home
WHERE: The Kirke Resident
WHEN: Tuesday, June 12th.
RATING: TBA, both have potty mouths.
STATUS: Incomplete/closed.

Amy had never hung out with Matt outside of school. She actually had never hung out with Matt outside of the Gryffindor common room. They had struck up a friendship two months ago, and this was a big step in a weird way. She was a little private when it came to her homelife. People rarely came over, and she never introduced friends to her parents. Her mother meddled, her father awkwardly ducking out of the room.

Matt was cool though, and she figured that he didn't mind having people over. She pushed her lopsided fringe out of her eyes, hers flowing to the left, and Mona's flowing to the right. One of the differences between them, and their appearance. It was a nerve wracking thing meeting friends' parents. Oliver was much better at this sort of thing, but he was one of those typically good kids. She was not. She was the one that made off colour jokes, and ended up sharing something random and inappropriate.

She pressed the door bell with a red fingernailed finger, and stood back, waiting for someone to appear. Praying it was Matt or Teeny.

Matt was one of those people who just wanted to hang out and have fun, especially during the summer when there were no rules and restrictions against it. He made it difficult to avoid him during the holidays, since he tended to bully his friends into coming over. It wasn't that he didn't want to see their places, too - his numerous conversations with Liam about Ireland were proof of that - but he just felt his bedroom was superior. And he was right, regardless of whatever the other person's bedroom looked like. Nobody could beat two beds, a sofa, a big-screen television, and a bit of room to roll around the floor. His parents tended to stay out of his business when he was in his room, too, which was just that much better for him and whatever he was doing.

Fortunately, they weren't even home at that point in time. Neither was his sister, having gone to Germany with one of his best friends in the entire world. Matt was alone in the house and a girl was coming over. Bad signs for everyone involved, and for those who didn't even know they were involved. Maybe the house would be a complete mess, and maybe he wouldn't have any clothes on. Those were the risks taken with Matthew Kirke, a girl, and absolutely no one else around. It wasn't as though Squirtle could say anything about it, after all.

That was why, when the doorbell rang, he knew it had to be Amy. Unless it was some Muggle door-to-door salesperson, there was no one else to be expected. Putting Squirtle back in his tank, Matt ran over to answer the door, pulling it open with a smile once he saw the familiar dyed ginger on the other side. "You're really in for it today," he said, standing aside and letting her walk in before flinging the door shut behind her. "I brought my gun down, and I got paint balls yesterday with my Dad." And then, as if it was the best part of the whole thing, he added with a grin, "They're multi-colored on the inside and black on the outside. It's a surprise."

"You're really in for it today."

Those words echoed in her mind, and she wondered what kind of trouble was in store for her. Not that she minded, Matt was trouble, but the best kind of trouble. The kind she would pull with Mona, and then gently swift the blame back to her unsuspecting sister. She felt the corners of her mouth twitch up into a smile and she knew she would be agreeing to anything Matt proposed.

"Before you get us charged with a class A felony and I end up someone named Big Mama's bitch, I brought you something from the muggle world." She reached into her bag and pulled out an Aero bar. "These will fizz when you eat them, my da gave me a whole stack when I got off the train." She always ended up sharing her weird muggle food with those she considered a friend, and Matt was a friend.

"Give me the grand tour of your house, I want to see your mythical room rather." She slipped off her bright blue jacket and her mustard yellow handbag and dropped them on a nearby chair. Matt's house was nice, it was like a house, and she expected it to be much different for some reason. She didn't know what exactly, but something totally different. She wondered if he had a telly. Or what muggle things he had. It would be nice to have someone have one foot in the muggle world, and one foot in the wizarding world like she did.

"And I can't wait to hold your gun, as weird as that sounds, I've never seen a paintball gun before." She told him, smiling despite of herself. The Boots weren't big paintballers. At least not that she knew of, her da could be a closet paintballer. Anything was possible honestly.

Anything to get them out of that narrow, claustrophobic corridor directly behind the front door. "Wicked, thanks," he replied, taking the candy bar. He'd probably eat that later. It sounded like Fizzing Whizzbees without the levitation, which was always good by him (even if he favored chocoballs, but Matt wasn't one to knock any free candy). "But don't worry, Big Mama's already got a bitch. It's my sister," Matt joked, smirking before setting the candy bar on the table just inside the doorway. A tour of his house sounded rather dangerous, but there seemed to be no way to get around it, so Matt started leading her around, gesturing to things as he told her about them.

"There's the living room...couch...fireplace, shit like that. And that shit above the kitchen table...I've never known what that is. Mum calls it art." They could see all of that pretty well without moving very far, considering that - aside from the entryway - the whole first floor was pretty open. "There's more sitting space and another fireplace..." Wandering down further, he opened a door and pointed into the room that housed the family's computer. Up the stairs, Matthew bypassed his parents' and sister's rooms, heading down the extremely-familiar path to his own brilliant bedroom. Pausing, like it was a grand moment she had to savor, he rested his hand on the doorknob. "And this one's my room."

Pushing the door open, Matt headed for the lower bed. It was the bigger one, and his definite favorite of the two he had. Company/friends slept on the normal one, especially guys. His trunk was at the foot of the normal bed, the cover open and with all his things still inside it since he was currently too lazy to unpack. There were definite plans to get to it soon, but for now, he was enjoying being home in a room on his own, with his Mum usually nearby to cook for him. "And this is my paintball gun," Matt said, leaning all the way over his bed to the floor so he could grab the gun and show it to Amy. "Take it. Get a feel for it. You'll shoot it in a bit."

"Good to know, narrowly avoided that fate." She joked back, pretending to look relieved. Amy was...nosy. She liked looking at people's houses, mostly she liked looking at people's tastes, and comparing it to her own parents' house. And Matt's was definitely coming out on top, considering her own house looked like a vintage shoppe with a whole bunch of stuff crammed together and none of it matched. It was rather unfortunate honestly.

"A fireplace?" She asked him in awe, "how fancy, what luxury you live in." She loved fireplaces, it was just fun to teased him. She did find them rather impressive in all honesty. She looked at each other little bit, he pointed out, other than his parents' room and Teeny's, she wouldn't want to snoop around in Teeny's things after all. Teeny was her favourite of her younger brother's friends.

She did savour it, it was much cooler than the room she shared with Mona at home. One of them could have moved out by now, they had always shared a room when they were younger because they wanted to. Now, it was just a matter of who would pack their stuff up. "Your room is much better than mine." She told him truthfully. Her room looked like battle of the tastes, and Mona usually won out.

She sat down on the other bed, facing him. It would be nice to have two beds, well, one that Mona didn't occupy. "This is rather brill, and I'm not even taking the piss." She told him. The other bed did look more comfortable though. She took the gun from him, turning it over in her hands, getting used to the weight. "I'm really excited to shoot this, I've never shot anything before." She looked at the gun again. It felt remarkably different than a wand.

Of course Matt's room was much better than hers. He was extremely biased in its favor, and though he was sure Amy's room was adequate, nothing could compare to his huge bedroom. It was almost its own bachelor pad. Stick in a bathroom and a fridge, and he'd be set. At least he wasn't whipping out his porn, though. That was something he was saving for himself, sometime when Amy wasn't there. For now, he had a cool girl's company to enjoy, and they needed to take advantage of the fact that they were currently alone and would be until his parents were home. "Maybe one day I'll get a comparison, and I'll be able to agree with you."

Most people had never shot anything before, so Matt wasn't too surprised to find that out. He'd only been paintballing a few times, but he was seriously happy that Lynne had gotten him a paintball gun for Christmas. And the other two guns he'd gotten for Christmas and his birthday - the snowball shooter and the potato shooter - weren't half bad either. They hurt less than the paintball gun did, for sure, and the potatoes never went very far. He'd had loads of fun after Christmas hols, bringing the snowball gun back to Hogwarts with him to shoot at his friends. It was nice when there was snow.

"Do you want to go out and shoot it now?" Matt asked, looking over at her from his lower position. "I know you just got here, but unless you want to watch telly or something, shooting a gun is always a good option." Matt was very much in favor of it, although he didn't particularly care one way or the other at the moment.

Amy wished her room was as big as Matt's, she felt it was the close quarters that probably made her want to kill her sister by the end of the summer. She couldn't help but keep glancing around, looking at the walls, the pictures. Two beds, she wished Matt would switch rooms with her, and maybe he could move in with Mona for the summer, and she could relax here for a while. "Maybe some day, it's very girly in there, could you handle that feminine prowess?" She asked him seriously. She wasn't kidding, well, she was, sorta. It really was covered in jewelry, makeup and perfume bottles, and girly little knick knacks.

Amy had never even seen a paintball gun, which surprised her, since many of the boys who lived hear her were the types to want to shoot at something. Not that she socialised with most of them, they were either ridiculous arty types who wore scarves and talked in a large vocabulary to seem smart, or they were football lads who pawed at you in the market place. Very unsettling. But still, with a paintball gun in her hands, she felt rather powerful, like some sort of bad ass who could shoot at anything.

"I would very much like to go out and shoot at something." She told him looking down at him from her upper position. The schematics of this bed arrangement was rather amusing to her for some reason. "No, shooting a gun sounds brill, I just watched a load of telly last night with Mona, apparently there are teen dramas we're just missing while we're away at school." She told with a slight deadpan. Mona did have awful taste. Matt was lucky he could overrule his sister, with the Boots it was an argument, and then Mona winning out.

"I've got no idea," Matt replied. "I'm not even sure how I handle being around girls at all at this point. They're so fucking hard to deal with and you just want to strangle every single one of them," he joked, his hands coming up, pretending to wring an invisible neck directly in front of him. He wasn't sure what Amy thought the problem would be. He'd been in girls' bedrooms before, and they were pretty girly girls. He'd survived in there just fine. It didn't mean he was going to transform his room to look just like theirs, but it was fine for a temporary period of time.

Matt was very happy Amy agreed to go out shooting. He could watch telly any time and wasn't missing anything; he was used to not watching because of Hogwarts, although that would change by the end of the holidays. It's how it always went. At the beginning of hols, he would rather play video games or do something else fun. At the end of hols, he wanted to watch television, and he missed it a lot when he got back to Hogwarts. There was only one more year of that, though, which was insane. He didn't even know how he'd gotten as far as he had. It must've been his mother's fault.

Standing up again, he grabbed the tub of paintballs from the small, circular table near his favorite bed, and stopped right in front of Amy. "Mona does know that Hogwarts pretty much is a teen drama, right?" Matt asked. "Next time, just tell her we're fucking living one." Sighing, he gestured toward his door with his free hand. "Let's go shoot it, then. I'll show you how, first, and then you'll get to wow me with how quick you pick this shit up." He expected she'd see one shot fired, and then do exactly the same thing without any problem whatsoever. It wasn't as if it was a real weapon, and shooting it wasn't hard at all.

"You seem to be doing all right, you haven't wrung my neck yet, and I'm pretty certain I count as a girl." She pointed out. The invisible wringing of the neck, that was a classy touch. "I'm totally taking the piss though, my room is seriously butchy." She told him totally seriously. "You'd fit right in." Matt was easy to tease, in the best way possible of course. Mostly because he didn't seem to mind it, and because he could dish it right back out.

Amy was so excited to try this shooting thing, thought, video games would be a close second, because she loved those too. "The first few days we were home, I watched loads of telly, and played a lot of wii bowling with my da." She told him. "He really loves it, he's not all that athletic." Amy loved it too, it was utterly lame. Possibly the lamest thing on earth, but it was better than playing one of those role playing games that were all involved and you ended up staying up for three nights trying to figure out how to get to the next world. "This is far more exciting than telly and wii bowling I'm going to guess."

Amy was fairly certain Mona knew that, but she never seemed to have much drama, so maybe the fake drama was more exciting. "I think she might, but her dorm is pretty drama free, as is Mona." Amy thought she was anyways. She never talked about boys, or friends or whatever in a negative way. She hopped down from the other bed and followed him to the door. "I hope I do not disappoint you with my shooting skills, but seeing as you seem to have a real handle on things, I think I can pick this up quickly enough." Amy really had no idea if this was going to be hard or simple. She just wanted to see the little paintball splatter.

"And I'm totally taking the piss, too," Matt said. "I quite like being around girls, actually. Especially when they're in less than what's allowed in public." Subtlety was Matt's specialty, of course, so his remark was most likely missed by Amy. She'd never understand a word he said, which meant he was free to talk about naked girls whenever he wanted to, as long as he just hinted at the nudity. Anything else and she'd either leave, or - in another dimension - get naked herself. Neither would happen, though! It wasn't even on Matt's mind. He was just looking forward to some paintballing in his back yard.

Matt's dad wasn't athletic, either. That's how Matt got his amazing skills in Quidditch. Andrew Kirke had almost fallen backwards off his broom when he was in Hogwarts, and his son wasn't any better at flying. They both preferred to watch the sport from the ground, and neither very much liked to play any other sport. There were too many other things to do aside from wasting time, running around on a field and crashing into other guys. Matt left that to the people who were good at it, and he sat back and watched the carnage, only when it was Quidditch. "Sometimes I do that with Dad, but not very often. He's not the hugest Wii player."

Heading back down the stairs, paintballs in hand while Amy carried the gun, he whipped through the kitchen and to the back door. After throwing it open, Matt slowly walked past the loads of shrubs and crap that was growing back there. It was like a jungle, ivy on the house and everything. It was an overgrown pile of crap, but at least it was good for shooting paintballs. "Here," he said, stopping in front of a tree and staring up at it. "This one's the best to shoot at." He'd already tried it out, too, which Amy would notice by the paint splatters on its trunk. After opening the tub of paintballs, he reached for the gun with a smile. "You'll want to do this whenever you get fucking aggro at something. Trust me."

Amy mulled over that remark for a moment, and decided it was best to say nothing. Not act offended, or amused, which she was slightly. Matt amused her. He was strange, and said things that no one else in their right mind would, and she admired his bravery, because Amy could play at being brave, but it mostly wasn't happening really.

Amy hated Qudditch, Terry hated Quidditch. Oliver might like Quidditch, but she wasn't exactly sure. Terry Boot was nerdy, bookish when he was in Hogwarts. She was actually pretty amazed on how normal Mona, Oliver, and herself turned out. She thought at least one of them could have gotten Terry's genes. Maybe they all lucked out, and took after their mum and Aunt Karen. "My da loves to bowl, sometimes we actually go real ten pin bowling, but I suck at it, and only go to eat all the bowling alley food since their chips are the best." She told him.

Amy saw the paint splatters, and wondered how often Matt got aggro. She watched him take the paintballs out and get the gun. "I do have some aggro tendencies at home." She smiled at him. "And shooting at something could be helpful." She wondered if there would if there was kickback. She saw that on tv once when someone shot a gun and it went back and hit them in the face. "Is there kick back on these?" She asked Matt. "I was just curious really."

Bowling. Matt had never even been bowling. He didn't know what the inside of a bowling alley looked like. As far as he knew, bowling was only something Muggles did when they were old, especially when they were Americans. He'd heard of loads of old Americans getting together for 'bowling leagues,' but it had never interested him considering the fact that he wasn't 50. "I've never been bowling," Matt announced, the smile having faded into a rather blank stare once she started talking on that topic. It wasn't because he didn't care about it, it was just that he'd have nothing worthwhile to say about it. He couldn't even crack some stupid joke like he probably would've.

Matt couldn't help laughing when she said she had some aggro tendencies. Everyone did, unless they were supernaturally nice people, which was a very rare thing. "Sometimes it's just fun to shoot, period. Without being cheesed off about anything." A lot of those splatters on the tree were because of Matt just having fun shooting. "There is a bit, but not much," Matt replied. "You'll be fine." Even if she did hit herself in the face with the gun, she'd be fine! They could run into the house and get something cold if she needed it, but it wasn't like her eye would pop out.

After pouring a bunch of paintballs into the hopper on the back of the gun, he replaced the cover and took aim at the tree, keeping both eyes open before pressing the trigger five times. Five paintballs shot out at the tree, splattering blue twice, orange once, and yellow twice. "There," Matt said before handing the gun to Amy. "Your go. Try to hit one of the marks I just made if you want, but try not to go too far from the big mass of paint."

"We will go then someday, and eat all the bowling food, because that is the best part honestly." She told him. "And watched all the old drunk desperados trying to pick each other up, which is the second best part." She smiled thinking about it. Old people were totally gross when they were sad and desperate.

Amy could be a little aggro, she was more aggro than Mona anyways, she was usually the one beating up on Oliver when they were younger, which was the best part about being an older sibling. "Seriously right?" She told him in agreement. "Its like throwing things, even when you're completely pissed off about something, it's just satisfying." Amy wasn't that concerned by kick back, she just wondered how bad ass she would look if she had a black eye. And how intimidating she would down in Greece with a black eye.

"That looked easy and slightly intimidating." She took the gun gently from him. "I can totally do that." She tried to imitate his stance and pulled the trigger. It felt stronger and there was a little kick back, but she did hit just below one of the targets. "I did it!" She squealed excitedly. "Yes, that was quite awesome." She composed herself, trying not to look like some girly, idiotic fool. She pulled the trigger again and watched an orange ball spatter against the tree. "That is so cool." She pulled the trigger twice more, blue, then green. "What else can we shoot at?" She asked him.

Going bowling with Amy sometime sounded like a good idea. He was teaching her how to do this, and she could teach him how to bowl. They could both stink up the alley. Shit, maybe they'd even get bumpers pulled out for them so they could have the illusion of playing well. It wasn't as if he'd care. He was the one who was semi-secretly afraid of water, so bumper bowling would be a bonus and probably a boost to his ego. "Bowling someday sounds like a deal." Even just going to eat the food sounded cool, if Amy liked it so much. He could do with or without the old people trying to hook up, although laughing at them could be fun. He and Amy walking around the alley, pointing and snickering at the old folks thinking they were cool. That sounded fine to him.

"Throwing things, blowing things up, it's all good." He really didn't do too much of the blowing up, though. Throwing and shooting were fun, especially when it involved the prepositional phrase, 'at his sister.' Whenever Teeny was a target, Matt was happy enough to just throw it at her, whether it hit or missed. Hitting her wasn't even the important part. Her reactions when something whizzed past her face were just as good, since it was still unexpected.

Matt couldn't help laughing when she started squealing and getting all excited about shooting a gun. When she mentioned wanting other things to shoot at, Matt tried to think of what they could shoot at. "Uh...I could get some bottles from the house and line them up?" he suggested. "Like the bloody carnival." He didn't even have to wait for her response before he'd decided that was a good idea. "Be right back. Keep shooting at the tree if you want." And back to the house he went, grabbing any empty bottles and cans he saw before he came back with his arms full of 12 empties, ready to line them up once Amy stopped firing.

"Brilliant, I can't wait to go bowling and be total rubbish with you." She smiled at him. Going bowling with Matt sounded like a lot of fun, even if they were going to eat the food. And watch the over forty-five set try and pick each other up. She was just good enough to have the bumpers pulled away, but not quite good enough to where her score was over 100. She was working on that though. She would have totally pointed that out. "We'll have to get the frachos, they are honestly the greatest food on this planet." She told him. "Seriously, you'll never eat chips the same way ever again."

"I have not yet blown something up." She told him interested in that completely. Blowing something up sounded like a lot more than bowing. When Amy was upset, and yelling with Mona, since she was good at keeping her calm wasn't an option. Throwing things around their room was a good second choice. She had broken a stereo, which she told her parents she accidentally knocked off a bookcase. Threw a shoe into the wall and made a giant scuff. Slammed the door into the wall, and made a hole. Amy wondered how their room was still standing actually. "I might actually have more aggro tendencies than I previously thought." She couldn't help but smile at that.

"That sound brill." Her eyes lit up. She imagined shooting a bottle like they did in the old western movies. "Absolutely I would like to line the bottles up and shoot them." While Matt went to get the bottles, she shot a few more times at the tree, watching the little paint splatters. She liked when the little blues mixed with the little lines, and they made green. Once she saw Matt came back, she put the gun down and watched him line them up. "How many do you think you can hit?" She asked him.

"What the fuck are frachos?" Matt asked, the question burning at his mind and making it impossible for him to concentrate on anything else at all. He had to get that off his chest first, and then it was onto the next part of what she'd said. Obviously, they were some sort of chips, but that didn't help him a damn bit. "But being rubbish, with or without frachos, sounds fantastic. I'll probably make you look damn amazing in comparison." Matt paused, considering what he'd just said, and realizing he was dissatisfied with it. "Well, at least at bowling." That was better. Matt was too amazing in general to look like the rubbish half of any team, after all.

Smirking when she mentioned how many aggravated tendencies she had, Matt couldn't help but be amused. She looked pretty non-threatening, and basically like she wouldn't really have anything to be angry about, but yet here she was shooting a paintball gun and talking about how pissed off she got sometimes. "Neither have I," he replied, about blowing things up. "I've wanted to, but never actually done it." Who didn't want to blow something up every once in a while? He couldn't imagine going through life without wanting to blow something up or shoot something. Doing that crap with magic was just not the same.

After lining the empties up, he stepped back towards Amy, getting out of her way so she could try and hit all of them. "All of them, probably," he answered. He didn't see why he couldn't hit all of them. It was his gun, of course, and he'd had plenty of practice "But it's your go, first." He wanted to give her a chance to shoot the gun as much as she wanted. He could do it whenever, but it wasn't leaving his house, so Amy could only do it when she was with him. "Whenever you're ready!"

"Oh yeah, I should have told you what frachos were both squeeing over them." She laughed. "They're fries with nacho cheese. Get it, frachos, fry nachos." She told him. "Im totally rubbish, but it's really fun, and you can rent bowling shoes." She loved bowling shoes, she always got the cobras. Very shiny. "Probably not, I'm sure you wont make you look any more amazing than I all ready look." She teased him. "But seriously, I suck, and it's just fun, sucking or not."

"Me too, I think it would just be fun to blow something up, like on the telly." She told him. Not that she would want to hurt anyone, just for fun really. Amy had used firecrackers before, her cousins on her mum's side had some, and they said they were pretty exciting. They were just stupid magic ones, but still. "It would be way more exciting to blow something up rather than just throwing them around." Amy wasn't usually a completely angry person, she tried to keep that all in check. But still, every so often, these things just snuck out.

"That's rather impressive." She told him. Amy wasn't sure she could hit all of them, maybe at the very least she could hit half. She had her target in sight, and tried to hit the bottles. She hit about seven of them, and just sort of grazed the rest. "That wasn't all that on." She looked at the bottles again. She passed him the gun, and wanted to see what he could do. She was sure he could hit them all. Matt seemed to be a good shot. And watching someone shoot the bottles was rather exciting.

"Shit," Matt exclaimed, right after Amy started shooting all the bottles down. He'd realized he left his wand in the house, which wasn't the biggest issue in the world, but he'd have to set the bottles back up the Muggle way. Doing it with magic would just be so much easier, but whatever. No sense in running all the way back inside to do something he could do with fewer steps. That was how lazy Matt was at the moment, with it being summer and everything. He was slightly more active during the school year, walking to class and all around the grounds. Until he got a job, he just had lazing around the house to do all summer, and Matt wasn't looking forward to the idea of working. He wanted to be able to laze around and do nothing.

Blowing things up would easily be more exciting than throwing things around. "Fucking right it would be. Too bad it's not easier to make shit explode." Fireworks weren't the same. They were supposed to blow up. He'd rather make regular things blow up, like his sister's bedroom. The cruel side of him wouldn't mind if she were in it when that happened, but the normal side really didn't want her dead. He just pretended, and it wasn't like anyone would know.

After setting up all the bottles again, Matt picked up the gun once more, having set it on the ground so he could fix the line and actually enable himself to shoot them down. Taking aim, he shot the first one, then the second, then the third, missed the fourth, and shot all the rest down. "One out of twelve isn't bad at all." It was actually quite good, but since she'd only gotten seven, he thought he'd be nice. "You'll get more eventually. Seven for the first is pretty good." Holding the gun out for Amy again, Matt shrugged. "Want another go? I can set them up again. Maybe you'll get a few more."

"That wasn't that bad, could have been better though." She told him looking at the bottles. "We're going to have to set them back up the muggle way." Amy looked at the bottles. "I can set up the next round if you like." She offered. She was lazy, everyone knew Amy was lazy. She could barely get out of bed most days, but even she knew that it wasn't fair to make Matt set up all the bottles, all the time.

"It really is, and I don't exactly know how to make things explode the muggle way." She told him. She saw people on the telly blowing things up, but usually a bomb was involved, and she could find things over the internet on how to make one, but it wasn't that worth it to be honest. "Fireworks are bollocks for real. They just sputter out, and the colours aren't that cool."

"That was brilliant." She was quite impressed watching him shoot down most of the bottles. She thought Matt had good aim, but that could be because he had done this many, many times before. "All right, I'll have another go." She took the gun gently out of his hands and took the aim stance he did. She hit the first, not the second, the third, fourth, missed the fifth, sixth, and hit the rest. "That was loads better!" She was actually quite excited for that. "Do you want me to set them up for you? Have another go?"

"Yeah, you can set up the next round," Matt replied. Walking back and forth after shooting down the bottles would get old, so he'd gladly let Amy do it for part of the time. He was also willing to let her shoot the gun for the rest of the time, though. It was his gun, and he could shoot it whenever he wanted. She needed to make the most of it until she finally hit every single bottle. "We've got all fucking day for this, so whenever you want to find something else to do, let me know and we'll make some shit up." Most likely, the next activity would involve sitting and watching television, but that was just a hunch because they were both pretty lazy people when given the opportunity.

Making a bomb was just too complicated for Matt, so if he wanted something to explode, he transfigured something into a stick of dynamite (or tried to, usually it was still patterned as whatever it had been before, or sometimes still had other attributes) and lit it. "Good job," he replied with a tone of excitement when more bottles were shot down by Amy. Just one more round and she was already better. "Nah, I can shoot later. It's all your go," he added as he walked towards the bottles, changing his mind on what he'd said before.

Once the bottles were all in a row again, he took the gun from Amy to put some more paintballs in, making sure it was adequately stocked and wouldn't run out or ruin her fun. "A few more, then you wanna go inside?" he proposed. As cool as shooting paintballs were, he hadn't planned on that being the only thing they did. "I've got some shit we can do in my room if you want."

"Its no problem, I figured might as well share in that chore." She offered. Amy was lazy, but she wasn't so lazy she was going to let Matt, who was kind enough to let her shoot his cool paintball gun, and come over his house do all the work. She really wanted to get this down, and be able to shoot them all. She needed the aim for when Oliver and Peirce decided they wanted to get fresh with her, or when they dug out their paintball gun. She would rather Mona, no offense, be the easier target. "Sounds good, whatever you want to do, it's fine with me seriously." She also figured they would slug out, and then end up watching the telly, or a movie or something.

Amy had her targets in sight, she aimed the gun like Matt showed her. She kept her eye on the prize. Ten out of twelve this time. And she was about to jump up and down and hug him all girly style, But decided that would have been so lame, they would have needed a new word for lame. "That was pretty all right." She decided to go with. Not showing Matt how weirdly excited she was about the whole thing. "Just one more go, I really think I can get them all down this next time." She set them up evenly spaced. Amy was incredibly lazy, until she got something in her brain, then she actually focused on doing it just right. This was a rare occurrence, but it did happen occasionally.

"Im almost ready for sure." She told him pushing red fringe out of her eyes. She was certainly growing this out over the summer holidays, she decided in that second. But this was not the time to play beauty parlor, she was Amy Boot, bad ass with a gun. It made her little plaid skirt and polo shirt not seem so much like a school uniform in that very second. "I would love to see the shit you have in your room for us to do." She told him. "Just in one second." She didn't even mind the kick back as she managed to get all twelve down. Some, were barely grazed, but she still counted them. "I think we're good." She hid that girly surge of excitement again.

After Amy shot her last and hit all the bottles, Matt grinned before going to scoop them all up. "Knew it was only a matter of damn time before you at least hit all of them." Scooping up all the bottles before heading back towards her, he figured he'd let Amy carry the gun back inside, just to let her hold onto it some more. "So there's shit to eat and drink in there, and we can probably get into whatever we want. Dad's got some DVDs and I've got a huge telly in my room. Basically, we can do whatever we want because we've got the whole damn house to ourselves.

Leading the way back into his house, Matt set all the empty bottles on the kitchen counter, ignoring the bits of dirt they'd dragged with them as it all landed on the otherwise-clean surface. His mother would chide him later for it, and ask what he'd been up to, but his dad would just ask how the shooting went. None would be the wiser to Amy being there unless she was still there when they got home from work.

Oddly enough, Matt was hardly thinking about snogging her. They were having fun, and he'd told Danielle he wasn't after Amy. He still had that promise to her that he was going to try and hold himself to it. Sitting together and watching a movie in a platonic manner for a change would be really, really different for him.

"That felt so good, I can't believe I hit all the bottles like that." She smiled at him. Amy still couldn't believe she had gotten all the bottles, she felt very accomplished. She never felt accomplished by this time of the summer. It took weeks for her to feel anything but well rested, and sluglike. This was shaping up to be a good summer. She could feel it. "Cool, sounds good. That's probably how I would be spending my day if I weren't here." She told him. That wasn't a lie, she would be eating something, and probably watching the telly with Mona.

Amy made sure to the wipe the bottom of her moccasins off before coming into the house. Her mother would be shrieking if she saw the dirty they were dragging in. "My mum would be beating the tar out of us if she saw what we were tracking in. She's insane about keeping everything clean. She even wipes our dogs paws off before they come in." She laughed. It was so sad.

Lisa had badgered her a little before coming here. She never heard of this Matt character, and she assumed that Amy was hiding something from her. Not that she was. Matt was a friend, and she wasn't planning on doing anything she shouldn't Not yet anyway. Matt was fit, and she liked just how strange he was. That was actually her favourite thing about him. Just how different he was. She knew in the back of her mind she fancied him, and it felt different to actually fancy a boy because she liked him, and not because she felt she had something to hide. It was nice.

"Individually wiping paws? What the fuck is she on?" Matt asked, rather crudely referring to Amy's mother. That sounded like a rather pathetic woman with no life, though. Matt's mother had been dealing with him tracking dirt through the house for as long as he'd been able to walk, and with him drawing on the walls before that. She'd become an expert at cleaning charms, which were already one of her stronger points. Despite the fact that she had a job in the Muggle world managing the book store, she was still most definitely a witch at home. Scolding, sure, but cleaning charms were easy.

Whatever else she said was heard as they walked up to his room, after grabbing whatever they wanted to do there. For once, it wasn't going to be shagging he wanted to do with a girl in his room. There was nothing saying he couldn't just hang out with Amy, however awesome she was and however well they got along with each other. Maybe, if he didn't have that promise to Dani, he'd take advantage of how friendly they already were and start trying to chat her up, but until then, all they'd do was watch a couple films until she wanted to leave.
