Who: August Ridley
OT: Anyone
Where: The Brig (bar)
When: Evening, Tuesday, September 28th
The Brig wasn't far from where he lived in Marina Del Rey, the closest marina to Los Angeles where his houseboat was located. He was still waiting on the glass he'd ordered after the disaster of both fire and earthquakes that did damage to the marina and his home. There was still plenty of mess for him to clean up, which was why he was in the bar before stopping by the boat for a few hours to continue making the place habitable again.
August was grateful that Jamie offered his old apartment to him for the duration of the detective's repairs, but he missed the sound of the ocean, the usual noises of the marina, and the subtle sway of the boat. He spent the last few nights wandering around the apartment and coupled with the fact that he'd just finished dealing with the funeral of his parents and a strange freak accident at Charlotte Valentine's apartment building...the detective needed a drink.
He sat at one of the tables in the bar, the Sam Adams he'd ordered untouched. Auggie stared intently at it in thought, his arms crossed and his chin resting on his forearms. The coroner's report had come back and apparently Ms. Valentine was right; Ronald Archer fell from the top of the building. All the physical evidence, despite the unusal comment about the man's heart, pointed in that direction.
