Endless days had been spent wandering the streets of L.A. in the hopes of finding her father from this time and place. Her search, though, had proved fruitless as Mitchie was no closer to finding Joshua Cromwell then she had been that first day she found herself in this world of the past. Having given up, finally, the teen turned her attention to another avenue. Find, and hopefully connect, David Cromwell, her uncle.

The small bell above the door chimed when Mitchie opened the door to the tattoo place and walked in. This was the second stop she was making that day in hopes of finding out any intel on her uncle. The biker bar she had visited previously had produced no leads, but did get her more then a couple sexually insinuated invitations to visit an upstairs room.

Almost three months ago, Kayla was walking into Saints and Sinners looking for her soon-to-be girlfriend's BFF, to get to know the woman and to set her mind at ease. Now? Well, now things were different. Kayla had more confidence than she could ever remember having in her life, and a large part of that was her relationship with Deanna, of that she had no doubt. She'd quit her job at the coffee stand and had arranged for workable shifts at Saints and Sinners (given that she was still a student), and had started her Slayer training. Slowly but surely, it seemed that things were looking up for the tattooed beauty.

She was currently clad in waist-high black jeans, black docs with a matching corset, her hair styled to one side and a smile on her face as she poured drinks like a pro. That was the thing about college, it was one of the first things you learned...

This was the single worst day of Chloe Van Warren's life. The day she'd only imagined coming in her worst of nightmares. Chloe had seen people close to her die before: Ami was a classic example. And Bella was missing, and who knew if the blonde would ever see HER again... but this? Was unlike anything else. 

This was her baby sister. Her best friend in the entire world. The person who loved her and understood her more than anyone in the universe.

The affair itself was typical Van Warren: huge, ritzy, glamorous... basically, a spectacle befitting of her family's reputation. Chloe stood in front of the heartbreakingly small gold casket, almost unable to look at it. She had to hold it together, for her parents (who sat in the front row, frustratingly calm), and for all the people who loved and adored Lucy. If anyone was going to be the first to say something about this beautiful, amazing girl.... Chloe had the right to be first.

"H-Hello, everyone. I... I stink at this stuff... this... talking in front of people. But Lucy deserves the best of everything. And if we... have to say goodbye to her, we're gonna do it in the best way possible. Lucy always told me that I was her hero. That she looked up to me, wanted to be just like me."

The blonde turned around, choking back a sob as she dragged her fingertips along the casket, lingering there for a moment.

"You were wrong, kiddo... YOU were MY hero. I love you so much, Lucy... my life will NEVER be the same without you. And I swear on all you and I believed in... I will never, EVER forget you. Your life, your... your energy, the vibrance with which you lived your life... will endure in so many ways. I'm going to make sure that people never forget your name, your beautiful face, your boundless energy. You weren't just my sister, Luce... you were my best friend. The best friend anyone could ever be lucky enough to have. I miss you so much already... just like everyone sitting here today does. The world... is a lesser place for losing you. One day... I just hope... I just hope I'm lucky enough to see you again. Because I know right now... heaven has itself one more angel."

Chloe sniffled there, hurrying back to her seat, unable to take anymore.

Besides... other people needed to say their goodbyes, whether privately or into the microphone.
