Happiness is coffee

[info]doctorwolf
[info]btvsal
Who: Jacob, OT Carly
Where: LAGH cafeteria
What: Coffee break!

Jacob made his way to the LAGH cafeteria, a tired look on his face. He was only a good four hours into his shift, and he'd already had one grueling surgery. Yup. Transplants were never fun, as there were a thousand different little details that had to be done just right, but in the end, it was rewarding to see someone's life made better. In this case, a dying man had a new heart. And Jacob couldn't be happier, even though he was falling asleep. He'd had a couple of busy few days. Not to mention the recent passing of the full moon, which was always a tough time for him.

He needed something to get him through the rest of his shift, before he could go home to Jane and the leftover Chinese takeout that they'd ordered the other night.

Entering the cafeteria, he made his way up to the small coffee stand in the corner. Time for some caffeine.

Treating a werewolf? Talk about a trial by fire...

[info]dr_todd
[info]btvsal
Who: Dr. Elizabeth Todd, open to all members of her "secret" team
Where: LAGH
When: Backdated to Saturday night

Talk about sheer, unadulterated CHAOS.

Wesley had called Elizabeth, in what (for Wesley, at least) amounted to a panic, saying that a very important, very public figure in both the regular AND supernatural community had been severely wounded, and needed her help. Quickly, Liz grabbed Carly McDonald, the one person she knew that had real experience treating supernatural beings (and the one who would be teaching the rest of them), and sent her to the scene for damage control. In the meantime, while she waited for Carly to get back with Ben in the ambulance, she ran to gather her team.

A few of them, like Jacob and Claudia, had already had a good idea what they were getting into. The others, like Danny, had more or less been told that something major, and top secret, was going on... and that if they wanted in on something huge, they had to trust her, be open-minded, and say NOTHING.

And now? As Carly swiftly rushed the gurney which Ben's unconcious form layed upon into the OR that Liz had reserved, Dr. Todd looked at the team that had managed to come together in here.

"Alright, people, I only have time to say this ONCE, and until this is over, you'll have to take everything I say as gospel. The moment our patient is out of danger, I will answer any questions: This is Benjamin Kenneth Bale. Most of you know him as a highly public owner of two local clubs, and a music promoter. He is also a lycanthrope, a human being who can, at will, change his form to that of a wolf, and a half-man, half-wolf beast. As you can see, victim is suffering from a GSW to the back, as well as having fifteen silver spikes stabbed into various organs of his body."

She began removing Ben's clothing as she spoke, to inspect the wounds.

"Looks to be possibly severe damage to the lungs, kidneys,  liver, gallbladder, and the tendons in his biceps & thighs. Luckily, his heart was totally missed. Dr. McDonald has already treated him a salve that will restart his rengererative system, which in lycanthropes is approximately fifteen to twenty times that of a normal human."

As Liz addressed the team, Carly began applying several types of medication that, frankly, not ONE of them had ever seen nor heard of, while Liz began helping apply pressure to the wounds.

"You are all here to observe. Because we need you. People like Mr. Bale here need to recieve care as well, as do people like us that are victims of supernatural attacks. Dr. McDonald is working on getting us government clearance to do this as well, so that we won't have to work as some secret society. But I trust each one of you with this. And we need to be a team here."

Who: Dr. Jacob Taylor OT Dr. Liz Todd and her posse of docs.
Where: LAGH Cafeteria
When: Saturday Evening, as the night shift begins

The cafeteria food here at LAGH wasn't much better than the food back at Boston Gen. The one night that Jacob had forgotten to bring his own dinner...he was stuck with mystery meat, looked and smelled a bit too funky for his taste.

Oh well, the food didn't matter right now. What matter was that he had some serious business to attend to-making sure that Dr. Todd and her team of doctors found him trustworthy. Normally, being the respected surgeon that he was, Dr. Taylor could care less he was respected by those less experienced than him. But, Dr. Todd was dabbling in areas that he'd had...prior experience with, to say the least.

A grin on face and a tray of food in hand, Jacob made his way over to the table where he spotted the young blonde doctor and her friends.

"Room for one more?"

New doctor on the block

[info]doctorwolf
[info]btvsal
Who: Doctor Jacob Taylor OT, Doctor Elizabeth Todd
Where: LAGH
What: Meet the newest addition to the LAGH staff...

"Excuse me, can I get my charts over here? I'm juggling a transplant surgery in less than two hours and I don't know who any of my damn residents are!"

Doctor Jacob Taylor, world-class surgeon, stood at the nurse's station of LAGH, looking just the slightest bit annoyed.

"Look," he said to the nurse that currently shooting daggers at him, "I was promised that everything would perfect for this surgery. I need those charts."

Yessir, Doctor Taylor was certainly a demanding man, as some of his old collegues back in Boston General would tell anyone that knew him.

Heaving a sigh, the nurse nearly shoved the charts in face, muttering something about "demanding big shot doctors" before turning back to her work.

Jacob gave the woman a quick nod of thanks, before flipping through his charts, half-humming to himself.
