My recs: 

1.In the Dark (Conversations)

Characters:  Malcolm, Inara, Jayne, Simon
Pairings:  Jayne/Simon, Mal/Simon, Mal/Inara
Summary:  Mal has problems. More than usual, even.
Why you should read this fic: It shows a totally different side of Simon that you may find interesting! And a slightly OOC Mal that was done fairly well. 

"'Cause you're fucking Jayne." That was a mistake, and you knew that as
soon as the sentence left your mouth. That wasn't a reason. It was an
excuse, but it wasn't a reason.

Deep hazel eyes had crinkled at the edges. Was that a smile? A scowl? You
hadn't been able to tell. "I'm not fucking him tonight." 

2. Working the Midnight Hour

Characters: River/Jayne
Summary: Meeting your man's mother is stressful enough without a well meaning, but misguided crew budding in.
Why you should read this pic: nubesdelchocolate shows us Jayne's family, don't you want to meet his mom?!! What more could you want?? There is a slightly intimidated River and very curious crew mates. Even though this fic is seperated into 6 chapters, it's a very easy read. 

“They never said where they were going!” Kaylee piped up.

“No, they didn’t,” Mal’s brain was turning, “Zoe, can you handle getting the supplies on your own?”

“I dunno, sir, I will sorely miss holding your hand when I cross the street.”
