lilah morgan is the new spike ([info]evilbitchqueen) wrote in [info]brightlightlogs,

Who: Lilah Morgan & OPEN Ethan Rom.
What: Staving off boredom with alcohol. Mm, healthy.
Where: Some bar in Las Vegas
Status: Incomplete
Rathing: TBD. Sexy.

Lilah wasn't really sure what she was doing here. It was some pathetic combination of bored and lonely, she reasoned, that was making her do it, come to the nearest dive and skip the fruity drinks in favor of something deliciously intoxicating. She wasn't unhappy exactly - unlimited riches in Las Vegas kind of one upped eternal labor in Hell. But somehow all this 'not working' thing was starting to get to her.

No Wolfram & Hart, no impending apocalypses. No Wesley. She was so bored, she had even considered brooding. Luckily, she'd been able to stop that train wreck before it started. There was sort of a trick to it. Every time she felt these little twinges of regret for her oh-so-evil ways, all she had to do was remember one thing: She was on top. She was alive. She was Lilah motherfucking Morgan, and she was gorgeous. That usually fixed it right up. And anyway, if she was bored now, imagine how dull life would be if she couldn't harass pregnant women or go private jet bowling.

The watering hole down the road was more her style- sleek and polished, filled with artistic lighting and mingling business men. She'd certainly have fit in better there, what with her four inch stilettos and perfectly styled hair. But she couldn't help but want to do something different. Mix things up. After all, last time she'd hung out in a bar like this, it'd been the start of something interesting. Maybe she'd have a bit of luck again.

Lounging at the bar, she ordered her drink (whiskey, because what the hell, she was feeling nostalgic), and looked around.

Ethan Rom had always had issues with his father. Horace Goodspeed had been the undisputed King of the Dharma Initiative, which was interesting because he never once took the initiative to do anything. As Ethan grew up, he witnessed his father browbeaten and bullied by other people....his mother....other Dharma members....and so he retreated into alcohol. He didn't show any interest in his son, far too concerned with other personal matters. So Ethan grew up with a resentment for Horace, leading to several major decisions in his life. The decision to become a doctor, the decision to join the Hostiles, the decision to change his surname to his mother's maiden name...

But it hadn't affected his ability to drink. And when you were stuck in Vegas with ingrates and people who hated you despite all you'd done for them...drinking was one of the only things left. He spotted Lilah Morgan, recognising her from her picture. He walked over, thinking the picture didn't really do her justice. She was utterly beautiful. "Lilah Morgan?" he asked, appearing next to her.

Lilah smiled. Wow, someone who she actually wanted to see. She wasn't exactly stuck here amongst friends either, and her list of allies was fading fast. Even people she'd never met seemed to have an opinion about whether she should live or die - and wasn't that just like Angel and friends. No respect for finesse. Now this guy, she didn't know that much about him. No Files & Records to pull up everything he'd ever thought about doing. But she liked what she'd seen. Anyone who managed to get adorable blondes that angry was all right with her.

"Ethan, right?" she asked. "Sorry, I didn't catch your last name." Taking a sip of her drink, she looked him over casually. He was young, or at least, younger than she'd expected. Probably a professional. Definitely not a lawyer, which was good because as far as Lilah was concerned, they were all obnoxious. "So," she smirked, tilting her head at him. "What brings you to this neck of the woods?"

Ethan gave an easy smile, sitting down next to her. “I don’t think I mentioned my surname. It’s Rom,” he said, “And I’m here for the same reason most people end up here; a combination of boredom and contempt for the people they know.”

His smile remained the same, easy and gentle, but his eyes had turned it into something much different. It was something bitter and savage, something that moved in the subtle corners of his expression.

"I'll drink to that," Lilah responded, raising her glass in salute. "I'm not sure what angle Zenner was going for, but they've sure got the annoyance down pat." It was actually pretty impressive, when she thought about it. All the people in the world, and they'd trapped with the ones who hated her the most.

She watched Ethan carefully, noticing a slight shift in his demeanor. Something around the eyes. There was a bitterness there, or maybe an anger, that was oddly frightening, and she was taken aback a bit. Then she relaxed, shifting comfortably in her seat. Everyone had baggage around here.

Ethan chuckled. "Yeah, they're not so much the Evil Empire as they are the Annoyance Comglomerate," he agreed, trying to force himself to relax, which just tensed him up more. He cracked the cap off his beer, and took a quick swig. "I'm from a place where giant monsters made of smoke and teleportation are commonplace, but I keep seeing some bizarre stuff here. Vampires, and....and aliens."

Ethan shook his head wearily. "You're a lawyer, then? Where did you...'law' before all this?" he asked, keeping his eyes locked on hers. As opposed to her lips, which he really wanted to look at.

"Smoke monsters." Lilah said flatly, though her interest was obvious in her eyes. "Can't say I've seen one. Smoke demon, though, we've got those. They're good people." She took another sip of her drink. "So obviously, they're not clients." Crossing her legs, she added, "Now, the vampires I'm rolling in." Aliens, not so much.

"Speaking of Evil Empires," she said with a bit of an eye roll. "That's me. I work for Wolfram & Hart. We more or less have a monopoly on soulless corporations." She paused for a second, clearly expecting some reaction to the name, though whether it would be positive or negative she wasn't sure. "Or at least, I thought we did. Looks like Zenner's got us beat. I don't know how the Senior Partners missed this one," she drawled, relishing the opportunity to get in a quick jab at her former employers. "Things must've really gone to shit after I died."

Ethan’s brow creased at the mention of evil empires, immediately picturing Lilah emerging from a spaceship and walking down a line of Stormtroopers with long strides. He didn’t recognise the name ‘Wolfram and Hart’, and supposed it didn’t exist in this…place. He had briefly thought about the multiverse theory, but didn’t know enough about it to really make any kind of educated guess. He simply accepted that this was a world that was the same as all others, with only miniscule changes in the grand scheme of things.

“You died?” he asked, a little inappropriately excited. “Hey, me too! How ‘bout that?” He realized he was a little too enthusiastic about being resurrected, and managed to tone it down somewhat. “Is it all right if I ask how you died?”

"Whoa there, cowboy," she said, eyebrows raised. "It's not that exciting. Though I've got to say, of all the coincidences, this isn't the one I expected. Luckily," she added, smiling wickedly, "It's not necrophilia if we're both dead."

Her tone carefully nonchalant, she continued, "I was stabbed in the neck. And eaten by a vampire. And beheaded. Man, that was a rough night." Clearing her throat, she ran her fingers lightly over the scarf she still wore, more out of habit than anything else. "Now, what about you? Tell me you died in a blaze of glory or something, because my death just depresses the shit out of me. No wait," she finished, "Wait. Let me guess."

Tapping her lip in mock puzzlement, she leaned forward, scrutinizing him. The she leaned back triumphantly. "Freak accident. No, stabbed in the back," she said confidently. "I'm going to have to go with stabbed in the back. Final answer."

Ethan returned her wicked grin with one of his own, and then faced forward to drink his beer as he listened to the details of Lilah’s death. His eyes rolled around to glimpse as her moving lips, then to her eyes. God, but she was beautiful. And they were both dead, so they had something rather exclusively in common. Then she reached the subject of vampires, which made Ethan set down his beer.

“Ooooh, I’m sorry, neither of those in the literal sense. Thanks for playing,” he smirked with a small laugh. “No, I….I didn’t expect to die in the way I did. Remember the pregnant girl? The one I….kind of kidnapped? Well, she escaped.” He shrugged with a calm sigh. “

I went back to get her, but got captured myself. Five guys got me at gunpoint, and then out of nowhere, I was shot. Six times, right in the chest. But the real insult isn’t that my killer is alive and right here, but that he was a junkie. A one-hit-wonder bass player who sneaked up like a coward, a coward who had spent all his time trying to get into the pregnant woman’s pants. So yeah, maybe I should start exaggerating a little. Say I went out taking down ten terminators at once. With some of the people here, it isn’t exactly a stretch.”

Lilah watched Ethan watch her, and smiled. She liked where this was going. She could practically hear the women of Angel Investigations calling her a whore as she thought it, but hey. Everyone needed to feel appreciated once in a while. Besides, she thought, inspecting him greedily, he wasn't half bad.

"Of course she did," she groaned, irritation obvious. "They always do." She winced as she heard the rest of Ethan's story. Well, that'd hit a nerve. There was always something death, wasn't there. The good guys'd go out with touching goodbye kiss or something equally saccharine and disgusting, but them? They were lucky if they went out with a bang. Half the time in was just humiliating. "Ten terminators, got it. If it makes you feel any better, I was killed by a cheerleader."

Ethan considered for a moment. “Yeah, it does make me feel a little better, actually,” he admitted, finishing off his beer. “Ever since I got here, though, I’ve been struck by a very prevalent thought: that I don’t want to die again. In fact, I’m pretty up for living.” He twisted in his seat to look at her, and leaned in before dryly stating, “Go, life.”

His smile was a mixture of playfulness and bitter resentment, and he stood. Lilah was not a short woman, but Ethan still towered over her like he did most others. He abruptly decided not to play games. “Lilah, would you like to come up to my room for a drink? This bar has such a constricting atmosphere.”

"You and me both," Lilah agreed. "I think I've had enough of death to last, well, a lifetime." Saluting him with her glass, she polished off the last of her drink. "L'chaim and all that."

If Lilah was startled at the change of pace, she didn't show it. After all, playfulness and bitter resentment were two things she knew all too well. Her face mirroring his, she stood up from her stool and grabbed her purse. "You know, Ethan," she said, licking her lips. "I'd love to."

Ethan escorted Lilah out of the bar, and briefly glanced at his watch. Almost midnight, and in Las Vegas, the night was brighter than the day. Outside, neon gazed at them from all angles, car lights ran back and forth and the moon hung in the sky with an almost lacklustre air about it, as if acknowledging that it was being outshone by this viciously wonderful city.

They reached his car, and Ethan then moved in a very deliberate way that wasn’t entirely planned. He grabbed Lilah by the waist, and spun her around roughly to face him. He crushed his lips upon hers with a kind of savage hunger, pushing her against the car.

Lilah gave a small gasp at the roughness of the gesture, but it was hardly an objection. Catching her fingers in his hair, she pressed up against him, returning his kisses with an equal desperation, before moving her hands to run along his chest. Then, suddenly, she grabbed hold of his shirt, flipping them aggressively so that she was the one holding him against the car. There was only one person who she let take her control, and he was probably blowing his boyfriend in the library right now, so. But Ethan. Ethan was all hers. At least, for the moment.

"What a spacious room you have here," she murmured into his ear, her voice tinged with amusement. "I can see why you wanted to leave."

Ethan had planned to take a break to drive back to the building, but if Lilah was fine with fucking in an alley, who was he to disagree? You always had to respect other people’s opinions.

Ethan was a man used to being in control, a man who was used to holding power over others via whatever means possible. And he wanted to remain in control here, even if Lilah had different ideas. It was almost like a battle for control, for domination.

He grasped her shirt tightly, and tore it open with an audible rip of fabric. He savagely seized her breasts and mauled his lips against her neck, loving the feel of her perfectly shaped body moving against him with harsh yearning. His hands slipped around her back, his powerful arms moving down around her until he cupped her ass, easily lifting her off her feet and allowing her to fall against his chest.

Lilah shivered, silently thanking her lucky stars that she'd worn a skirt tonight. Her hands tore at his clothes, refusing to be the only one half naked in an alley because damn it, it was only fair that she'd get to feel his skin against hers, soft and warm and alive.

That was the kicker wasn't it? Alive. At first when she'd arrived, she hadn't even realized she'd been brought back to life. But she was done with that, now. She wanted to feel. Wanted to hurt.

She kissed him back with the same force as she pressed up against him, his lip in her teeth, his hands on her back. Her fingernails, elegantly manicured and painted an appropriate blood-red, raked against his back. Any semblance of self-control was gone as she fell against Ethan and lost herself in want.

Ethan allowed her to shed his shirt, revealing a chest tightly muscled from years of physical training. He pulled her harder against him, wanting to feel the curves of her body. He tasted blood as her teeth split his bottom lip, but only continued to move his mouth hungrily against hers. Her breasts pushed up against his chest, and he felt nails slice into his back.

His first thought was that her nails hurt like hell. But he felt her lips on his, the bends of her body beneath his rough hands, and a second thought occured: he didn't goddamn care.

Ethan pulled her pale, smooth legs up around his waist, easily supporting her as his free hand peeled her skirt up her thighs.

He was strong, that was her first thought. Because no matter how overwhelmed with feeling she was, she never could quite silence the running commentary in her mind. It was cold, dissociative, almost certainly unhealthy, but it was nothing if not true to character, and besides, it's not like anyone was complaining. He was strong and he was tall and she liked that in a man.

She bit her lip as Ethan maneuvered her clothes, hooking her panties on a finger and slowly pulling them aside. Her arousal was obvious, though not as overt as his as she pressed up against him, and slid her hand into his pants.

Ethan grunted with a sharp intake of breath as he felt her hand reach down to grab his hardened length. He began to kiss roughly along her neckline. He liked this woman. She didn't bullshit, she didn't play ridiculous games, and she was honest. She was honest about who she was, honest about what she wanted and honest about who she (had) worked for. Ethan had forgotten how to be honest. He'd chosen a civilised profession, chosen a civilised facade...and he always had felt more at home hunting or fighting. Maybe he ought to be more...honest.

His hands reached down to grasp ass, and with an easy heave he lifted her, spun around and slammed her impatiently against the car, entering her simultaneously. Again, his hands mauled her breasts while he kept her pinned to the car, his mouth tearing at hers.

Honesty, now there was a concept. People always assumed she was lying, that the combination of her sex and her career meant that she was incapable of straight talk. That is, until they got to know her. Oh sure, she was manipulative, but Lilah had always found that there was nothing more brutal that unadulterated truth. And if that frightened people, made them call her a bitch, a man, a whore, well. All the better.

She could tell, at least, that Ethan appreciated it. Her ran ran over his body, exploring him the way he had her - chest, ass, neck. She gave a small moan at the explosion of sensation, back against car, body against body, her head tilting upwards involuntarily. Her face was carefully relaxed, but her breath betrayed her, coming in heavy gasps as her hips rolled in time with his.

Ethan pressed his lips against the crook of her neck, then brought his mouth up to join hers in a searing kiss. All the while he thrust deeply into her soaking warmth. His movements were rough and brutal; unsubtle pounds that came in rapid thrusts varying in speed and power. His hands once again mauled her breasts, caressing the creamy skin beneath his grasp.

This woman was like him in the most roundabout way possible. After his wife's death, he had adapted rather well to a savage isolation on the island. For this woman...she had adapted to a more subtle, devious savage isolation. But what they wanted was the same, even if Ethan still considered himself a good person. However, his idea of a good person had shifted so many times to fit his own motivations he had little idea who he was.

Lilah squirmed as Ethan kissed her neck. Considering the number of time Angel and Co. had choked her, she was surprised she still had feeling there. Really, she'd forgotten how sensitive ... her train of thought fled as his lips met hers. Leaning forward, she kissed him back aggressively, all tongue and teeth, her fingers twined through his short hair as she writhed. She bit back a cry of pleasure as he thrust against her. Well, damn. For someone who prided themselves on being an unfeeling bitch, she sure was feeling a hell of a lot.

It was just, all this touching. Didn't get that in the afterlife, or not the one she went to, anyway. Being with someone who didn't despise her didn't hurt either. Normally she was all about the hate - it added an edge, but once in a while it was nice, not having all that anger and frustration aimed at her. Not that she'd ever admit it.

There wasn't a sliver of light between them, Ethan moving his body to fit against hers. He felt his bottom lip split in a red streak against the slice of her teeth, and he responded with the same aggression. One hand slipped across her ass, squeezing as the other hand kept her pushed up against him, and he continued to move powerfully within her.

He drew himself out, but after a few more minutes he climaxed amid barely surpressed grunts of intense pleasure. He slowed for a moment, and then thrusting hard inside her, now yearning to hear her own orgasm-induced gasps and moans.

Lilah's back arched, and she couldn't help it, she moaned. She had been called 'impossibly loud' for a reason. Her breath heavy with anticipation, she watched as Ethan withdrew, eager for him to return his attention to her. She pushed her hair out of her eyes, silently vowing to have him killed by morning if he didn't -- oh.

She climaxed hard, her legs giving out from under her for just a second. Catching herself, she stood up again, wobbly on heels she'd never removed. For a minute, stood there, looking up at the sky and catching her breath. Then, as proudly as one could look after have rough sex in an alley with a near stranger, she began to gather her things.

"Well," she drawled, dabbing at her own split lip nonchalantly. "This is going to hurt in the morning."

Ethan grinned, buttoning up his shirt only to find several buttons missing. He didn't remotely care, and zipped up. "Yeah, in my professional opinion, that's....gonna hurt." He walked around his car to the driving seat. "But no pain..."

He opened the driving seat door, but didn't enter. He did like Lilah, and not just because she was amazing in bed (figure of speech) or because she was utterly hot...although both of those things helped a great deal. He just...liked her. Simple as that.

"I'll give you a lift home, but if a cop stops us, be prepared to defend me in court," he said.

No gain. "You got it," Lilah smirked, picking up the remains of her blouse. She inspected it carefully. It was completely unwearable, but she shrugged it on anyway. Better than riding home in her bra. She'd liked that shirt, too. Bummer.

She idled over to the passengers side of the car. She could walk, of course, it wasn't far, but hey, less work for her. "I don't work pro bono," she said with a laugh as she pulled open the door and slid inside. "Of course, if I remember correctly, you lost that licence after running over some brat. So maybe this isn't exactly public good."

Ethan tried to avert his eyes from the glimpses of cleavage encased in Lilah's bra, the shirt doing little to hide it completely. It was a little odd to avert his gaze from the body of a woman he'd just had rough sex with, but he couldn't entirely help it. Such conventions were programmed.

"Oh? Would it hurt your social conscience?" he smirked, turning out of the alleyway.
