Life has moved on.

It's been about two years since the events of Breaking Dawn. In that time, the Cullens have moved to Alaska and Jacob Black has followed them to be with Nessie. Sam is still Alpha Male of the Pack, with Seth having rejoined them temporarily and Leah striking out on her own in Seattle. With two of the original Pack missing from La Push, there are now fourteen wolves.

Except they aren't really werewolves. It wasn't much of a shock to realize that they aren't the werewolves legends are made of, but the La Pushian Pack never really thought about the men and women that they got their names from.

The Children of the Moon. The real werewolves of the world.

Two years have passed since the Pack has learned about them and in those two years, word has gotten back to various Children of the Moon about the shapeshifters of La Push after the witnesses the Volturi had brought spread the word. Seeing their chance to find out if the shapeshifters of La Push can teach them about control, various Children of the Moon have been making their way to La Push and Forks.

This, of course, concerns the Volturi greatly. They have bid their time and left the shapeshifters alone. That is, until now.

Lines of communication have been opened up between those in Forks and the those in Alaska in order to deal with this new Volturi threat. The Cullens are trickling back in pairs and small groups, wondering if it's time to resettle in Forks so soon.
