My friends,

I must apologize for not sending you a hand written letter, but I thought this would reach you faster. There was an incident involving Emmett, Rosalie, and Nessie when they took her to New York City recently. An unknown vampire tried to attack them. I find it all to coincidental that an attack was made on my granddaughter's life while the Volturi are also taking up residence in Forks. I cannot bring myself to ask you for your help again; you've been so generous to stand with us before, as well as allowing us to stay with you in Alaska. However, I will extend the invitation if you would like to come down to Forks for any given amount of time.

I feel I must tell you that along with the Volturi, some new werewolves have gathered in town as well. We are trying to make peace with them in order for the sake of being civil. I have no qualms with the wolves, and thus I do not wish to engage in any sort of conflict with them. However, I understand that not all of our kind feels this way. If you would prefer not to come, it is with my complete understanding. That being said, it would be lovely to see all of you and for you to allow us to let you stay in our home if you so wish.
