Who: Rachel Black, Kim Connweller, Emily Young
When: 5th December, 2008
Where: La Push, Washington: Spears Residence
What: Sleepover!
Rating: G

Kim didn't actually know the other imprintees very well. She had never been very popular or outgoing during high school and her shyness had carried over as she grew older. Sure she knew the girls, but it was through Pack parties and gatherings and never through actual girl bonding time.

The times were growing more dangerous and Kim figured that everyone needed something to keep their minds from exploding with anger or worry. She didn't want to call it a sleepover, but there was junk food and some romantic comedies laid out on her coffee table while she was dressed in PJs. Most people would call what she was organizing a sleepover. Kim wasn't sure what possessed her to invite the little hybrid as well, but the more the merrier right? And even if the girl wasn't apart of the tribe, Nessie was still connected through Jacob and it just wouldn't be nice to exclude her. Leah had been invited because the Pack girls, imprintees and shapeshifters alike, had to stick together.

She looked up at the clock on her wall as her grandparents entered from the kitchen and walked in the direction of the stairs.

"Goodnight," Kim said, smiling as she hugged her grandfather and kissed her grandmother on the cheek. "Just let me know if we're being too loud or if you need anything." Now that she was growing older, it was more about her sticking around so she could take care of them rather than them taking care of her. The shift in responsibilities had quietly sneaked up on them and they still were unaware of it.

"You just enjoy yourself, Kimmie. It's good to see you inviting friends over," her grandmother said, as she patted Kim on the cheek and smiled. "Come on Edgar. Before you fall asleep standing up," she said, a mock scowl on her face as she tugged her sleepy eyed husband up the stairs. Kim watched them go until they were out of sight, before she plopped down on her couch and looked out the window.

She smiled when she thought she saw fur just beyond the bushes near the forest outside of her house.

Emily knocked on the door in front of her politely, trying to be no louder than necessary. She was aware that Kim lived with her grandparents, and didn't want to disturb anyone. It was extremely nice of Kim to set this up for them, and Emily didn't want it to cause her any problems.

She balanced her plate of cookies carefully, the paper plate ready to collapse at any moment under the large number of treats it held. At first she thought it would be nice not to be the one preparing food for a house full of people, but she couldn't help but want to contribute. She was looking forward to the evening, as she didn't get much chance to be surrounded by anything but giant teenage boys.

Looking away from the window to the front door, she muted the television that was playing the local news and got off the couch. She peeked through the window next to the door and saw Emily standing there. Smiling, she unlocked the door and stepped back. "Hey Emily. Thanks for coming. You're the first one to arrive."

Kim was nervous because she was almost positive that no one else would be coming, but she pushed that aside as she let Emily into the house. Even if it ended up being just her and Emily, she would be happy with that. "You really didn't have to bring anything," she said, as she leaned toward the plate of cookies. She sniffed at them, smelling the deliciousness of the baked goods. Emily really was a goddess in the kitchen.

Like Rachel was going to miss something like this. She needed a little girl time anyway, and the idea of ice cream had only made her want to come more. So a sleep over was a little junior high...but it was still fun. Bag slung over her shoulder, she headed toward the house, glancing to woods and rolling her eyes slightly when she saw a familiar furry wolf staring at her for just a moment. Boys, they were so ridiculous.

Reaching the steps, she raised her hand to knock on the door. She was also aware of who Kim lived with, and Rach wasn't sure if they were still awake or not. Maybe it would have been better to have this at her house, where there was no one to disturb? But somehow, Kim inviting people over seemed like something she didn't want to mess up.

Shifting her weight to her other leg, she waited for someone to call or answer.

Kim wasn't against having this at someone else's place, but she didn't know Rachel or any of the other girls well enough to ask them to host this get together. Maybe, if this one worked out well enough, they would have an opportunity to try this somewhere else.

Kim grinned when she heard the second knock on the door and opened it even before Emily had a chance to sit down. "Hey Rachel," Kim said, smiling a little wider now that she knew that Emily wasn't the only one that decided to show up to this thing. It, at least, proved that Kim wasn't a total social reject. "Emily's already here. I don't know if Nessie or Leah are coming, but if not, at least there's the three of us?" Kim asked rhetorically, as she waved at the wolf in the forest before shutting the door on him.

While she was sure that the shapeshifters meant well by being there, she now knew that she would need to censor the gossip due to their superhearing.
