Who: Leah Clearwater and Andrew Kenny
When: 5th November, 2008
Where: First Beach and Forests Around La Push
What: Leah gets a surprise
Rating: TBD

Once again, Leah found herself anxious and couldn't stand being alone in the house for long. Seth had school, Jacob had things to do with the Cullen's, preparing for when the Volturi decided to attack, and other things. He had a lot on his plate and Leah wished there was something she could do to help, but he was pigheaded and said that he would be able to do it all on his own. Being his Beta meant that she was there to help him, but he didn't let her help as much as she wanted to. Maybe it was because Nessie was involved and he wanted to feel like he was completely capable of protecting her and doing things without anyone helping him. At least, that was what she got when she had the opportunity to peek into his mind. Instead of staying in the house alone all day long, she went out into the forest to run around in the freedom she found while she was a wolf - if only she could feel this freedom while she was a human.

The pads of her feet hit the cold ground hard but didn't last there for long before they were off the ground once more as she ran. Everything around her was a blur and she loved it. Not being able to recognize much and feeling the wind rushing through her coarse winter coat made her feel good. Dwelling on losing Sam was something she started to get over, but the nostalgic feelings of the holidays often brought back that depressed feeling that she got. She hated showing that side to people, therefore she hid it and then got rid of it when she was alone. It wasn't long before the texture of the ground beneath her paws started to change from hard earth, to slightly muddy, and then to a strange mixture of sand and soil.

This feeling caught her off guard, therefore causing her to slow down. Her normally light gray coat was slightly darker; mostly for the fact that most wolves coats darkened a little during the winter months. Glancing around quickly, she made sure that no one was around before she started walking around the beach. She didn't like the feeling of sand between her paws, but that was something she could deal with. It looked odd for a wolf to have clothes tied to it's hind leg, but it didn't really matter much since there was no one around. As she watched the tide come in and out, Leah decided to chase after it a few times before it started to become boring. Then she ran the length of the crescent shaped beach several times before that also became boring. Since there was no one around when she had entered the beach, she didn't bother looking around as she phased back into a human. Quickly she untied the clothing that was attacked to her leg; nothing too fancy.

Once she was dressed in her faded jeans and tanktop, Leah rolled the jeans up to her knees and placed her feet on the wet sand that the tide just revealed. A shiver ran through her body when the icy water brushed over her feet. It wasn't like the cold really bothered her, but it was still a shock to her. She brushed a few strands of hair out of her face as she looked off into the distance. The gaze that she had matched the distance she was attempting to look at; she was deep in thought about everything that was going on.

Andrew had been spending most of the past few days trying to get used to being in a new city. He had moved around a lot in his past, so it wasn’t a new feeling to be completely unfamiliar with his surroundings. It didn’t make it any easier every time he moved to a new place, though. It was still just as difficult to get acclimated with the city as it was the first time when he left Brisbane. Andrew still missed home every once in awhile, and he missed his parents. He would briefly wonder what they were up to, how they were getting by, but he never let himself focus on the past for too long. It was all about the present and the future. And, presently, Andrew was in Forks.

Over the years and the many different places Andrew had lived, he found that the best way to get to know the area he was in was to walk around, get to know it all personally and up close. So, once he got bored just sitting in the hotel room he got for himself, Andrew grabbed some money and his keys and set off walking. He had an incredible sense of direction, and he assumed that came from the werewolf shit in his blood. He had no worries that he’d be able to find his way back to his hotel room when he decided he wanted to go back.

Throughout his wanderings, Andrew took in the sights and the sounds of Washington, it having been a place he’d never been before. The weather was a bit chilly, chillier than he was used to, but it didn’t bother him all that much. Shoving his hands into his pockets, Andrew just kept walking. After about an hour of just walking and thinking, Andrew happened upon a beach. Intrigued, he decided he’d take a walk along the sand. As he walked, he noticed a person sitting out by the water. The first thing he noticed was that the person was wearing jeans that they had rolled up, and a tank top, and that their feet were in the water. For it being the middle of the winter, that was a very strange sight.

Curious, Andrew made his way closer to the person, noticing as he got nearer that it was a female. He was even more intrigued, since the cold water rushing up onto her feet never seemed to bother her. The water had to be near freezing, it was very cold outside. Walking up to her, Andrew cleared his throat as he got nearer. “Aren’t you cold?” he asked, stopping a few feet behind her and shoving his hands into his pockets, raising a brow in her general direction.

In the little time that Leah was alone and able to think about everything that had happened. It ranged from what happened two years ago with the Volturi, to the death of her father from her and Seth becoming Shapeshifters, to events that had happened recently, and then to things that could happen in the near future. Leah's thoughts never went too far into the future. The last time she has thought about future events like that, her heart was ripped from her chest and it was still missing. Bitterness was something Leah had grown to love since it was the only thing that subsided the pain that she felt.

Over the years the pain dulled, but it never faded. Leah wished that she could get passed the wound that Sam had left her with, but she was the type of person that held grudges even thought she didn't want to. There was also the constant remind her of the future that she could have had whenever she was with Emily and Sam. It was almost like rubbing dirt and salt into a wound and topping it off with some lemon juice. Leah honestly tried to be a good person about it and her time in Seattle had taught her to suppress the feelings that she had so that she didn't have to be a bad person when she was around the people that hurt it. It wasn't like they hurt her intentionally. It was just something that happened. She didn't want to believe it at first, but she had been the witness of Jacob and Embry imprinting on people. The love that she had shared with Sam was something she thought would never be broken, but how was it possible for there to be some other force of love out there that could break it.

Maybe she was never to find love like that; she was the only female Shapeshifter in all of history. Maybe imprinting and falling in love with someone was out of her reach. Some distant dream that she would never be able to reach. This caused Leah to look away from that distant point she was fixed on and look at her feet. A long exaggerated sigh escaped her lips and her shoulders slumped slightly. Even though the glum mood that had suddenly took her over was strong, it was quickly shaken off by she foot steps coming near her and then the voice that followed it.

It was the scent of someone she didn't know, and the voice that accompanied it confirmed it. Maybe this person was one of the werewolves that she had yet to meet? Turning her head slightly, she glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. Mostly using her peripheral vision, so she didn't get a good look at him, but it caused her eyes to widen and look away quickly. Her hand found its way to her chest as she placed it there to try and clam her heart down. How was it that this person behind her was able to pull forth such emotion. Doing her best to ignore it, she shrugged her shoulders and kicked the water around a little with her bare foot. "No, not really.." For once, her voice lacked the hard edge that it normally had. "The cold hardly bothers me anymore."

Andrew furrowed his brow at the girl in front of him, pulling his hands out of his jeans pockets and crossing his arms over his chest. The cold hardly bothered her anymore? It had to be about forty degrees, give or take a few. And that water had to be close to freezing. And yet, she was sitting there on the sand, in just a pair of jeans and a tank top. Her jeans had been rolled up to expose the skin of her lower legs, and her feet were in the water. How was she not shivering and freezing to death? She had to be at least a little cold, but upon a closer inspection Andrew didn't notice any kind of goosebumps on her skin or anything. He was even a little cold, and he had on long jeans, a long-sleeve shirt, a leather jacket, gloves, and a scarf. Something just didn't seem right about her answer.

"The cold doesn't bother you," he repeated her words, his brow furrowing a little more before he reached a hand up to run over the top of his head. Had he not had gloves on, he would have felt the smoothness of his very short, closely cut hair, but his gloves masked any kind of feeling that he would have had while he ran his hand over his head. "Forgive me, that just seems kind of silly, seeing as how it's pretty cold out here, and you're sitting there wearing very little clothes, with your feet in that water. I'm sure that water has to be near freezing," he added, crossing his arms over his chest again. He hesitantly took a few more steps closer to her, moving around so he was on the side of her instead of behind her. "It doesn't make sense," he added. Had Andrew known about the shapeshifters and their ability to be impervious to the cold, it would have made perfect sense. But Andrew hadn't been in town long enough to hear about her and the others like her.

Leah couldn't help but snort as she tried to hold back the laugh that wanted to come forward. Here was this stranger worried about her and yet no one that she knew personally worried about her that much openly. It was flattering in every way, but she wasn't use to people worrying about her; especially people that didn't know what kind of person she really was. Grabbing her hair at the base of her head, she pulled it all together before wrapping the hair tie around it quickly. Maybe she did it to spite the man now standing beside her, to show him that she truly wasn't cold or it was to get her hair out of her face. No one could be certain when it came to the way Leah thought about things and some of the actions that she did.

"What if I told you I wasn't able to feel pain?" Her eyebrow raised up slightly when she asked him that, but she didn't dare look at him again. The last thing she needed was her heart running off because of some strange guy. What Leah had said was a lie, but it was somewhat the truth. The pain that the water would have caused normal people wasn't felt by her; most of her wounds hurt like hell but they were already healing by the time she felt them. "I'd ask if you'd like to go for a swim with me, but I don't think you'd be able to handle it or if you'd want to.. It might be too cold for you." There she went, challenging someone already, but maybe it was just to tease him. She wasn't completely sure herself. "In all seriousness, the cold doesn't bother me.. I doubt it would bother me if I sat out here naked when its so cold the sea water starts to freeze."

Andrew watched as she pulled her hair into a ponytail, getting it off her neck, and he rose a brow. He wasn't sure if she was doing that on purpose to prove to him that she really wasn't cold, or what, but he wouldn't dwell on it too much. Crossing his arms over his chest again, he listened as she talked. "Unable to feel pain," he repeated, nodding slowly and uncrossing his arms long enough to run a hand over the back of his neck before he crossed them back over his chest again. Normally, it was a defensive position, that was why people stood like that. But with Andrew at this moment, he was just trying to be comfortable, trying to understand what was going on in the mind of the girl before him. He just ... he couldn't understand.

Glancing out at the water as she suggested taking a swim, Andrew scoffed, shaking his head. "I don't think so. You may be impervious to pain, but there's no way you're getting my ass in that water. I'd probably turn into an icicle," he said, shaking his head again. He glanced back at her, noticing that she wasn't looking at him, and it made him quirk a brow. His hands moved to his hips as she continued, talking about the cold not bothering her again. He couldn't help the small smile that spread across his face as she mentioned sitting naked on the sand, and he rose a brow. "I wouldn't suggest sitting out here naked, if for no other reason than you'd probably get sand in some very unpleasant places," he said, unable to help himself, nor the smirk that crossed his face as soon as the words left his mouth.

Leah couldn't help but laugh when he said that he would turn into an icicle. She laughed so hard that she placed her hand on her stomach as she doubled over from the pain. "Oh.. I can see it now!!" With her free hand, she rubbed at one of her eyes. It took her a good minute or two to compose herself again and she stood up. "Now my stomach hurts.." She rubbed at her stomach and shook her head when she pictured getting sand in unpleasant places. "It wouldn't be the first time I got sand where I didn't want it to be." Biting on her bottom lip, Leah rocked from the ball of her foot and to the heel several times as she thought about what to do. It was rude that she wasn't looking at him as they talked and she was in a strange mood today - therefore making her want to be somewhat polite.

Carefully, Leah turned her body towards him and looked at him. She swore that her heart stopped dead in her chest when she managed to make eye contact with him. Fear came over her as she stood there unable to do anything it also scared her for she had never felt this way before. Several times she opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. It felt like there had been a piece missing from her and the moment she looked into his eyes she had found it. Everything felt right and somewhat perfect; even thought it was almost impossible with the way things were going.

When she was able to break eye contact with him, she looked down and tucked some of her lose hair behind her ear. She took in a deep breath and looked back up at him, there was a timid smile on her face. Leah bit on her lip to try and get that stupid grin off her face, but it wasn't working to well. "Are you.. New here..?" Her head tilted to the side slightly as she looked him over again. "I haven't seen you around before, so I don't know if your anti-social and reaching out there to talk with me or whatever the situation may be." She rubbed her hand on her jeans for it was dirty from running through the forest and extended it to him. "I'm Leah by the way.."

Andrew's already quirked brow quirked a little higher when she doubled over in laughter at his statement about turning into an icicle. He didn't think it had been that funny, but apparently she thought otherwise. Her laugher brought a small smile to his face, and he shook his head, his brow still arched as he watched her. After about a minute of her laughter, she stood and then rubbed at her stomach, complaining that it hurt. Smiling, Andrew shrugged his shoulders a little. "Sorry. I didn't mean to put you into stitches over what I said," he chuckled a little but, running a hand over his head again before his arms returned to cross over his chest. His smirk grew a little as she told him it wouldn't be the first time she had sand in unpleasant places, and he snickered. "Roll around on the beach naked often, do you?" he asked, unsure why he was asking her such personal questions. They were just kind of ... slipping out.

Watching as she turned to look at him, Andrew gave her a small smile and noticed that she seemed to be standing incredibly still, not moving, and it looked like she might even be having trouble catching her breath. His brow furrowed and he was just about to ask her if she was okay, when she finally looked down and then smiled back up at him, before talking. Clearing his throat, Andrew nodded. "Yeah, pretty new. I just got in town a few days ago. I'm staying at a hotel in Forks, though I'm not really sure why I came here," he explained, crossing his arms over his chest. "I have a tendency to move around a lot, not staying in one place too long, but something told me I had to come here," he shrugged. Smirking, Andrew shook his head. "No, I'm not anti-social. I just happened to be by the beach, trying to learn my surroundings here, and came across you," he told her. Taking her extended hand and giving it a shake, he smiled. "Leah, nice to meet you. I'm Andrew," he introduced himself.

Leah smirked a little more when he asked her if she rolled around naked in the sand often. Normally she would get mad at someone for asking such a question, but it didn't really bother her when he asked. "Only when it's a fool moon," she said jokingly. He smelt slightly different than most people, but she had no idea what he really was. She hadn't met very many werewolves, therefore she didn't know the scent to watch out for when she came across one. "Maybe you should try it some time, it's really relaxing." She laughed and winked at him a little.

Maybe it was just Leah's imagination and that was the reason why she felt this way. She had hoped that she would find someone to be with, but she highly doubted it. "There isn't much around here, I don't really understand why some people move here.. Especially people who use to live in big cities." She shrugged a little and kicked at the wet sand beneath her feet. A blush almost came across her cheeks when he said he had come across her, but it wasn't like she was anything spectacular. "It's good to know you're not anti-social.. I don't have much to worry about then." Her touch was a lot warmer than humans, almost like someone with a high grade fever. It was normal for shapeshifters, but for those that didn't know what she was it would almost scare them. "Nice to meet you too, Andrew."

Andrew's eyebrow rose a little higher when she made the full moon comment, and he furrowed his brow a little more. He wondered if she was joking, or if she was ... maybe she was like he was? He doubted it, but there was always the possibility. He wasn't going to say anything, of course. Because if she wasn't, then he didn't want to make her think she was absolutely insane, and have her run from him, screaming. She seemed interesting, someone he'd like to get to know. Raising a brow and letting a small smirk cross his face, Andrew nodded. "Yeah, sure. I'll keep rolling around naked in the sand on my list of things to do before I die," he said, moving his arms to shove his hands into his pockets. "I think I'll wait for warmer weather, though," he added. The cold may not bother her, but it still bothered him enough for him to not want to be naked outside when it was this cold. No way.

Cocking his head to the side slightly at her comment about why people moved there, Andrew shrugged. "I don't know, I just kind of felt drawn here. I can't really explain it," he said, shaking his head. "But I've lived in many different places, and this place seems just as normal as the rest," he said, giving a shrug of his shoulders. That statement probably seemed comical to anybody who know what Forks was all about, of course. With the vampires and werewolves and shapeshifters. But to Andrew, he didn't know any better. For all he knew, he could have been the strangest thing in the town at that moment. And then, he shook her hand. The heat of her hand almost burned his skin at first, and he rose a brow at her. "Well, Leah, no wonder the cold doesn't seem to bother you. You're burning up. Maybe you have a fever?" he suggested, raising a brow again. "If that's the case, then it's really not a good idea for you to be out here in the cold, you'll just get sicker," he said, trying to comprehend any other reason her skin might be so hot.

"It doesn't sound too odd that you were drawn here.. Some people feel at peace in certain places.. Kinda like how people never leave the town they grew up in." Leah shrugged a little and placed her hands on her hips to support her back a little. She really felt like sitting down, but there really wasn't a place for her to sit down at the moment. When he sounded concerned about her running a fever, Leah blushed a little and looked down. How was she going to get out of this one; it wasn't like he would believe her if she said, Hey, it's normal for my kind.. I'm able to turn into a wolf at will so there is no need to worry about it. Unsure of what to say and feeling that she was unable to lie to him, Leah looked down so she didn't have to feel so vulnerable when she looked at him in the eyes.

With her eyes locked on the ground, Leah started to wring her hands as she thought about what to say. It was easy for her to lie to most people, but there was something about this guy that made her chest hurt when she even thought about telling him a lie. She couldn't stand the thought of chasing him off and never being able to see him again. A sigh came from her and she looked up at him for second before rubbing her face as she groaned. "I.. I don't know how to tell you the truth and I don't even know if I can tell you. Let's just say that it's normal for me and if I did tell you the truth you wouldn't believe me."

Andrew shrugged, giving her a small smile as he did so. "I guess so. I've never really felt a draw as strong as the one I felt to this place, though. It's kind of strange. I left Brisbane a long time ago, quite a few years. And there had always been this ... I don't know, this thing pulling me. And when I finally got to the states, it got stronger. And the farther west I went, it got stronger. Until I got here. It didn't really fade away, but I knew somehow that this was the place that I was supposed to be in," he said, crossing his arms over his chest again, before chuckling and shaking his head. "I probably sound like a crazy person to you," he added, giving her another smile. He wasn't sure why he found it so easy to talk to her, but it just was. If he wasn't careful, Andrew knew he'd spill all the strange details of his life to her, and he was sure that would just send her running.

Watching as she seemed to struggle with a way to answer his question about her being sick, Andrew studied her features. He memorized the way she wrung her hands and bit her bottom lip, tucking it away somewhere in the back of his mind to pull out again at a later time. Again, he didn't know why he was doing this, but he had learned to stop questioning the urges and things he did. Her answer put a confused frown on his face, but he nodded, the frown turning into a small smile. He wouldn't believe her? Pfft, that was almost a laugh. "I'm sure nothing you could tell me would surprise or shock me, but it's okay that you don't want to tell me," he told her, nodding his head as he crossed his arms over his chest again.

"Do you know what it is about this place that makes you feel at home?" Leah tilted her head to the side as she asked this question and walked a little closer to him. Now they were a foot or so apart and she was facing him fully. Something inside of her wanted, no needed to be closer to him. It felt like a heavy weight sitting on her chest and it made her very uncomfortable. "You don't sound crazy to me at all.." She tried to make herself sound convincing, but she didn't know him well enough to know if it would work or not. After a while something registered in her head; the schooling she got at La Push wasn't the best in the world and they didn't spend a whole lot of time dealing with specific places in each country but it registered to her that he was from Australia. Well, she would have been able to notice that before if she paid attention to his accent, but it sounded so familiar to her that she hardly noticed it. Now that she did, she happened to like ti a lot. "You lived in Australia before moving here? I'd think it would be a lot nicer there.."

The smile that was on his face made her heart flutter a little and she couldn't help but smile back. It made her happy to know, or at least see, that he was happy. "You would think that I am a crazy person if I told you the truth," she laughed a little as she said that and shrugged her shoulders some. Leah noticed the way he crossed his arms over his chest, he seemed to do that a lot. She wanted to know the reasoning behind it and frowned slightly. "Are you cold..?" Leah started to reach out towards him, maybe to touch the side of his face or his shoulder but one couldn't be sure since she pulled her hand back to her body. "We could.. go some place else if you're cold."

Shaking his head, Andrew gave a little shrug of his shoulders. "No, honestly. I have no idea what it is that makes this place feel at home," he said, then shrugged again. "But I won't question it. I like the way this place is making me feel, so I'll stay for awhile," he said, nodding. He wasn't sure how long he'd stay, usually he started to feel restless after about a month of being in one place, but he had never felt as at home in a place as he felt here. So maybe that restlessness wouldn't come. The only thing that could make him know that for sure was time. Andrew smiled as she told him he didn't sound crazy, and then he nodded. "Thanks, but that's only because you don't know me well enough yet. I'm a pretty crazy guy," he said, though he was mostly teasing. Mostly. Raising a brow as she seemed to register that he was from Australia, Andrew smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I'm impressed. Most people don't know what Brisbane is, let alone that it's located in Australia," he said, then shrugged. "It's a lot warmer, that's for sure," he laughed.

Running his hand over his face, Andrew contemplated her statement about thinking she was a crazy person, and then shook his head. "I doubt it, but okay," he said, nodding. He liked her smile, it was warm and it seemed genuine. She had this air of confidence that surrounded her that Andrew found extremely attractive. Giving her a small smile as she asked if he was cold, Andrew shrugged. "A little bit. Nothing that I can't tough through, but unlike you, the cold is starting to seep through my clothes and get to me," he told her, nodding. He rolled his lips into his mouth at her suggestion of going someplace else. "Someplace else? Like where?" he asked, cocking his head to the side slightly.

Leah parted her lips to say something but she quickly closed them. She didn't want to say what she was about to. Hearing that he considered himself a crazy person made her laugh a little. He seemed more sane than most people she knew and she liked that about him. She couldn't believe how comfortable she felt around him. It was like how she use to feel when she was with Sam. Leah's eyes widened slightly when she realized that she wasn't at all bitter about losing Sam; normally she would feel bitter about all of it, but it vanished. Why did it vanish so suddenly without her even doing anything. Her eyes lingered on his blue ones for a long second before quickly looking away once more. It couldn't be..

She was quiet for a long moment before something reminded her of what she said and she laughed a little. "Well.. Any place that it warmer than out here would be nice. I'd hate for you to catch your death out here." She walked away from the shore and rolled her pants down so they covered her lower legs and some of her feet. "There are a few places here were we could go; my house would be one of them.. Or we could go to someplace in Forks.. It's really up to you."

Andrew furrowed his brow as she seemed to be thinking about something, and he shoved his hands into his pockets again, rocking back and forth on his heels while he waited for her to answer his question. Listening to the options she named off, Andrew glanced behind him. "Well, I've seen most of that there is to offer in Forks, since that's where I'm staying. I'm staying in a hotel back there," he gestured over his shoulder, though he wasn't sure what direction it really was in. "So unless you know some special hidden place, I don't think there's anything back that way," he said, shaking his head. "But, you just met me, so I don't think inviting me into your house would be the smartest idea," he laughed.

"Not that I'm saying I'm some crazy psycho or anything, I just ... I don't know where I'm going with that one," he laughed, shaking his head. "Is there some kind of a diner or something? I've been walkin around for a few hours and I think it's time to refuel," he said, his hand pulling out of his pocket so he could pat his stomach. "I'm kinda hungry," he said, smiling. "My treat?" he suggested, raising a brow at her. He didn't know why, but he didn't want to leave her company just yet.

"Maybe I wanted to take you back to my lair," Leah said in the most surly voice she could muster up and threw a playful wink his way. At this point she knew that she was flirting with him, but she had no idea why. It just felt natural and the right thing to do for some reason. She wasn't the type that flirted with every good looking guy she met, so it must mean something since she was actually going out of the way to try and impress him. Turning her gaze towards La Push she sighed a little. "You may not be a psycho, but I'm a lot worse than you'll ever be.." Leah said those words under her breath, she doubted that he would have heard her.

Turning back to him, she placed a smile on her face and pointed towards La Push. "Well, there is a small diner in La Push if you'd like to go there.. I don't know if you've been on the res or not.. But if we're going anywhere, I need to stop by my house and change into some decent clothes.." She laughed a little. "Not everyone knows I'm some freak of nature that can withstand freezing cold temperatures." With her body turned towards La Push, Leah extended her hand to him for some reason. It wasn't like he needed to be guided or anything, but she did it for some reason. When she noticed what she did, Leah dropped her hand and brought it up to tuck some hair behind her ear. "I don't want you to die of starvation, so we should get going."

Raising a brow at her comment, Andrew couldn’t help the slow smile that spread across his face. “You have a lair?” he asked, unable to help himself. He cocked his head to the side for a few moments, studying the wink and the look on her face, and then he smiled again. “Superhero. That must be it. Impervious to pain, and a lair,” he said, then sighed. “It’s gotta be a superhero thing,” he added, nodding his head. He was flirting too, which was a little out of the ordinary for him as well. Andrew tended to not make any kind of lasting relationships, whether friendship or otherwise, in any of the places he went. He never knew when he’d get the urge to up and leave again, so he didn’t like having anything tying him to a specific place. But he couldn’t help it with Leah, she was bringing out a flirtatious side of him that he didn’t know existed. He didn’t hear what she said, no. So he didn’t make any kind of a reaction to it.

Shaking his head, Andrew glanced towards where she was pointing. “No, this is as far as I’ve gotten from Forks. I’ve never been on the res,” he said, shaking his head again. He couldn’t help the smirk that crossed his face as she talked about having to change clothes, and he nodded. “I see. Well then, lead the way,” he said, gesturing with his hand. He noticed that she stretched out her arm towards him, and he rose a brow. Watching as she pulled it back and tucked some hair behind her ear, Andrew pulled off one of his gloves and shoved it into his pocket. “I’m sure your hand will keep mine warmer than any glove can,” he said, remembering how warm her skin was. “And it’s a good thing you can’t feel the cold, because my hand probably feels like ice about now,” he said, holding his now ungloved hand out towards her.

He was playing a long with her and she loved it; she had a feeling that she would be able to get along with him better than she would have thought when she first met him. Then again, everything felt strange and Leah felt like she knew him a lot longer than she actually did. "Didn't you know that I'm the Bruce Wayne of Washington state?" If only she had a utility belt with all the cool gadgets and what not. "You know, Superheroes aren't the only ones who have lairs you know.. Bad guys have them too." She said in a know it all kind of fashion, but it was followed by her laughing a little.

Leah was faced the other way when he pulled his glove off, therefore she didn't see him pull it off. She was muttering to herself under her breath again. This time it was about her being foolish and doing all these strange things while she was around him. When he started talking once more and saying that she would be ale to keep his hand warmer than his glove would, Leah's heart skipped a little and she turned towards him. Her eyes caught sight of his hand and then they flashed to his face. "You're right about that.. I'll make sure your hand doesn't get cold." Reaching out, Leah took his hand in hers. Instead of just holding his hand like a normal person would, her fingers weaved between this and interlaced their fingers together. It felt like the right thing to do and instead of dwelling on all these things she was going, Leah started walking with him towards La Push. "So.. Tell me some more about yourself, Andrew."

Smiling when she told him that she was the Bruce Wayne of Washington state, Andrew nodded his head. “Bruce Wayne? Ah, I see. So it all makes sense now,” he said, smiling over at her. He knew of the whole Batman thing through the movies that had come out over the years, not because of the comic books. Andrew never read comic books as a child, it was just something that never really appealed to him. Raising a brow as she told him that bad guys had lairs too, Andrew couldn’t help the small smile from crossing his face. “Yeah, that’s true enough. I just don’t know that you’re really ‘bad guy’ material,” he said, shaking his head. “Though, I don’t know you very well, I could be very wrong,” he added.

Andrew nodded as she took his hand, and then she laced their fingers together. She was definitely right, her hand was nice and toasty warm, it would keep his hand warmer than any kind of a glove could. Gloves just blocked the cold, but her hand was generating warmth and it kept him warmer than he thought it would. The warmth seemed to move up his arm and then through his entire body, and he understood why she really didn’t need to wear much clothing when the weather was like this. If her entire body was that warm, then she wouldn’t need hardly anything. Raising a brow and glancing over at her as she asked him to tell her about himself, Andrew raised his still gloved hand and scratched his head. “Um, there’s not a whole lot to tell. I was born in Brisbane, a small town in Australia. Lived there with my parents until I was about nineteen, and then decided to see the world,” he said. He knew he was lying, but he couldn’t tell this girl that he was a werewolf that changed with every full moon, and that he left home because he killed two innocent people. She’d probably run screaming for the hills. That, or try to institutionalize him.

“I went up to England, and stayed there for about two years, just moving around to a bunch of different cities, and then I came over to the States,” he cleared his throat, scratching the side of his face. “I moved around to many different states for a few years, before I ended up here,” he said, then shrugged. “And that really is my life in a nutshell,” he shrugged, lifting their joined hands to his face to press the back of her warm hand against his cheek. “This is really a useful little thing, just so you know,” he smiled at her, nodding. Clearing his throat, he cocked his head to the side. "Your turn," he smirked, raising a brow.

Leah grinned when he said he was able to see her being Bruce Wayne; the only things she new about Batman were the things that she watched on television and the movies. "If you're good, maybe I'll take you down to the Batcave and take you for a ride in the Batmobile." It wasn't like she actually had a car, but it he didn't have to know that. She hoped that he wouldn't mind that part; not that he was interested in her or anything. Even though it sounded nice that she could have imprinted on him, she highly doubted it though. Nothing ever went the way Leah wanted them.

As he told her about his life she listened to every word that he said; it was like she couldn't hear him talk enough. She couldn't help but squeeze his hand occasionally. Maybe she was making sure that he was actually there or maybe it was the fact that she was very comfortable with him and enjoyed his touch. She didn't want to dwell on it right now, sh would enjoy his company and possibly think about all of this at another time. When Andrew brought her hand to his cheek, she brushed her thumb against his cheek without realizing it at first. When she did she stopped and looked away from him for a moment. "I'm glad that I'm able to keep you warm," she said as she turned to him.

His life sounded a lot more eventful than her life did. Well, the parts that she was able tot ell him at least. There was the part of her that hurt badly when she didn't tell him everything but she didn't understand that part. She had never felt like that towards anyone else, but she had to think about it a little more or the just caught her at a vulnerable time. "Well, I grew up here on La Push and had a normal life.. There was this guy that I went to school with and we fell in love.. We were going to get married and everything, but when my cousin Emilie came down to visit everything changed.. He imp--" she stopped there for a second and then started up again, "they fell in love.. Kinda like love at first sight and didn't even care how I felt. Then something happened to my brother and I.. When we told my father he died of a heart attack. I'm the only female in history to have this happen to, so.. I'm out of the loop and people often wonder whats wrong with me." Leah frowned a little before looking at Andrew to smile some. "I've felt so alone since Sam left me.. I've got some great friends, but no one really understands me.. I'm just so different.. I don't fit in with the guys and everyone else I knew doesn't really want to have anything to do with me." When their hands were between them once more, Leah brought his hand to her cheek and closed her eyes for a second as she enjoyed the contact. "Your hand it fairly warm now.. Guess I could offer myself as a portable heater."

Andrew snickered, raising a brow at her as she made her comment about the batcave and the batmobile, and he scratched the back of his neck again. “That … could sound bad. If I had a dirty mind. Which, of course, I don’t,” he said, then glanced over at her and gave her a slight grin. He didn’t have an overly dirty mind, but who didn’t think about things like that every once in awhile? Unless they were extremely prude or just weird, everyone thought about it. It was just normal. Glancing over at her as she brushed her finger against his cheek, Andrew rolled his lips into his mouth as she glanced away from him. He waited for her to look back at him, and then smiled at her words, nodding. “Well, I’m glad that you’re glad,” he said, giving her a smile.

His life really wasn’t that eventful, all he did was move around. He never formed any lasting relationships, friendships or otherwise, so he was really just alone in the world. He’d move from one place to another, never meeting anybody and never getting any kind of a job. His parents kept putting money into his bank account, and he knew that it was because they felt guilty for what had happened to him. Andrew didn’t want their money, though. He was older now, and he was thinking about staying in one place and getting a job, doing something to be independent and live on his own, without help from his parents.

Listening to Leah as she told him about her life, Andrew frowned when she mentioned that the guy she had been in love with, engaged to, ended up falling in love with her cousin. He furrowed his brow, lifting a hand to run over the back of his neck again. He didn’t say anything yet, waiting for her to finish talking. The way she was talking … something happening to her and her brother, causing her father to have a heart attack … her being the only female in history to have this thing happen … it was all making Andrew insanely curious. His brow furrowed again and he rolled his lips into his mouth as she went on about how she felt ever since she broke up with Sam, who he assumed was the man she had been in love with. “I’m sorry that happened to you,” he said softly, glancing over at her. He hesitated a moment as she lifted his hand to her cheek and then cleared his throat. “Well, I could always be your friend,” he offered, giving her a small smile. “I don’t have anyone, since it’s difficult to form friendships and the like when you’re constantly moving, never staying in one place,” he said, glancing back in front of him and giving her hand a small squeeze. “I don’t know, I feel like I’ll probably stay here for awhile,” he added. “Why would I leave when I could have a portable heater?” he smiled at her, his voice taking on a teasing tone.

"Maybe I've said too much," Leah said mostly to herself but she didn't bother concealing her voice in any manner. She didn't like the feeling that she go when she didn't tell him the truth. When she felt his hand squeeze hers, Leah couldn't help but squeeze his hand in return. She was going to look like a fool when he went to remove her hand from hers and she wouldn't be able to. Maybe she was only feeling this way because she was vulnerable and now that someone was actually paying attention to her, she felt somewhat wanted. She knew that she was needed in the pack but being needed and wanted were completely different things.

When he said that he would be her friend and that he didn't have anyone, it almost broke her heart. How could this amazing person have nobody. She knew that he moved around, but she still didn't like knowing that he was alone in the world. "I'd like it if you'd be my friend," Leah said as she turned to him and smiled. "It would be a shame knowing that you're all alone in Forks without anyone to be there for you." It was the truth, but she could have said a lot more. Especially with the way her heart was lately.

When they started getting close to the woods that would allow them to get to La Push, Leah looked over at him and smirked a little. She wasn't sure if he was the out door type, but she wanted to make sure he would be alright going through the forest. Then again, she didn't really know how he'd feel if she had to carry him on her back. "Are you gonna be alright? I don't want you tripping over everything and almost getting yourself killed."

Andrew smiled and shook his head. “Nah, I don’t think you said too much,” he said, glancing over at her. It didn’t stop his mind from trying to think of all the possible things that could have happened to her to make that huge change in her life, but he wouldn’t be rude and ask. It wasn’t exactly the nicest thing to do, and he didn’t like to be rude. She didn’t have to worry about him removing his hand from hers, since he didn’t really feel the need to. Not only because her hand was keeping his warm, but because it kind of felt right to have their hands linked together like that. He couldn’t explain it, but it just … it felt right.

Glancing back over at her, Andrew gave her a smile as she said that she’d like to be friends, and he nodded. “Good, then we’re friends,” he stated simply. His decision to leave his hotel and take a walk around the area had proved even better than he thought it would. He’d come out of the experience with someone to talk to, which was a good thing. He liked Leah so far, she seemed like a pretty down-to-earth person, someone he could talk to. Hell, he’d talked to her more than he’d talked to any human being in … he couldn’t even remember how long.

Andrew almost laughed out loud as she asked him if he’d be okay going through the woods. Instead, he reached his hand that wasn’t holding hers up to run over his face, hiding the wide grin that had spread across his face before nodding. ‘Yeah, I’ll be fine,” he said, glancing back over at her and giving her a smile. If only she knew what shit his body went through every full moon, how often he took walks in the forest, she’d probably never have asked him that question. But he didn’t feel like scaring away the only ally he’d made in the Forks/La Push area, so he kept his mouth shut. Heading into the woods, Andrew kept up with Leah as they walked, his hand never leaving hers.

Leah liked that being in the wilderness didn't bother him and now that she thought about it, it was a little funny to ask him if he would be alright. He had come out here and it seemed to her that he didn't have a car. But, she wanted to be cautious. The last thing Leah needed was Andrew getting hurt because she wanted to go out and about through the forest without making sure it was okay for him. For all she new he was human and very fragile. If only she knew she could actually manhandle him a little; be slightly more rough with him than humans. Hell, she'd like that idea a lot if she knew what he was.

Squeezing his hand in hers, Leah grinned and started to walk a little faster. She wanted to see how far she could go without him lagging behind her. If they were going to be friends, then she needed to find out more about him. "Are you sure? I'm an outdoorsy type girl, so I can handle pretty much anything out here." Leah have him this daring look and looked in front of her. It was true, the only thing she had to worry about was getting bitten by a bloodsucker because that would be the end of her, at least that was what she remembered they were thought to be the werewolves.

"Do you have a favorite band, type of music, favorite color, favorite food, drink, book, movie, type of girl, things you like going on a Saturday evening, place to eat, kind of candy?" She somehow managed to say all of that in one breath. She wondered just how much of it he would be able to understand.

Andrew smiled as she told him that she was the outdoorsy type, and he nodded. “That’s good. It’s always good to get some fresh air and take in some nature,” he said, following her through the woods, surprisingly able to keep up with her pretty well without lagging behind too much. He was, at this point, pretty much only human. He was a little bit stronger and faster than normal humans, but he was only not human when there was a full moon. Though, Leah didn’t know that. And he would prefer it if she didn’t find out. He didn’t want her thinking that she was some kind of a freak, though he kind of was. It just wasn’t something he wanted to bring up just yet.

Glancing over at her as she named off all these things she wanted to know, Andrew couldn’t help but laugh. “What is this, the Spanish Inquisition?” he asked, raising a brow at her. The smile on his face showed that he wasn’t annoyed or anything, he was just amused. “I only caught the first few of those, so I’ll answer the ones I managed to catch. The others, you’ll have to repeat,” he laughed, shoving his hand into his pocket. “My favorite band is Breaking Benjamin. My favorite general type of music is rock, anything I can headbang to,” he smirked, giving her a smile to show he was kidding about the headbanging. “Um, favorite color is green, favorite food is steak. Drink is pepsi, book is A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, and I think that was all I managed to catch,” he laughed, scratching the back of his head. “I hope you realize that you’re going to answer all these, too,” he smirked at her.

It was good to know that he liked the outdoors and eventually Leah stopped pulling him behind her. She wanted to enjoy the walk with him and there was no use in her rushing anything. The last thing she needed to do was make him feel like she wanted to get rid of him - the fact was that it was far from that and she wanted to spend as much time with him as she was able to. That might sound very strange, but it was the complete truth. She wanted to find out the reasoning behind the way she was feeling and Leah thought by spending more and more time with him she would be able to find that out a lot faster than if she were to just go home and think about it.

When he told her that she was also going to be answering these questions, Leah smirked a little and nodded. It was comforting to know that he wanted to know more things about her. Most guys didn't want to know anything about her, but he was different. She liked that he was different. "Well.. I don't really have a favorite band; I like a lot of them and I like rock music myself." She grinned a little more and laughed a little. They were a lot more a like than she would have thought upon first glance. "My favorite colors would have to be green, blue, or gray.. All depends on my mood. I like a good steak myself, but I like my carbs so things like lasagna and spaghetti are on the top of my list. I like to drink water and try to stay away from most carbonated beverages, but I like Coke. Favorite book would have to be American Gods by Neil Gaiman." She squeezed his hand and laughed a little. "Anything you want to know before I start back up with fifty questions?"
