| Renee and Saoirse - 5:30ish, Hogsmeade |
[Aug. 12th, 2009|07:07 pm] |
Renee Zabini had had an excellent day so far. She'd worked out. She'd managed to completely avoid Jeremy, who kept bugging her for sex whenever Peyton wasn't around, like she was some kind of gross sex-crazed person, like a boy or something. She'd done her nails, and her hair looked fantastic. And best of all, she'd gone in for an interview at the Hogsmeade Fire Brigade office, which was really more of a chat than anything else since the head warden guy loved her. Even if she had to make small talk and listen to boring facts about Majorca, it was all worthwhile. She had a job! Or training at least, and she started next week, and it was brilliant.
And now she was going to buy healthy food for dinner, which was way harder than it needed to be around Hogsmeade. No greasy yucky pub meals for Renee Zabini, thanks! That Rosmerta woman didn't know the first thing about good diet. No one else seemed to, either, which was why Renee had started buying produce and making things herself. So far she had... salad. And sandwiches. It was only a matter of time before she got sick to death of both, but for now, she was feeling very grown-up and responsible as she walked down a street in Hogsmeade, going shopping for her own food to make her own dinner with in her own flat. That she shared with her best friend and her not-exactly-boyfriend, but still, independence to a degree. |

[Jan. 18th, 2009|04:51 pm] |
Who: Saoirse McLaggen, Eric MacMillan When: Predawn 18th January Where: The Outskirts of the Forbidden Forest What: Talking mostly, some walking, some comforting. Death isn't very fun, is it? Status: Locked/Complete
Saoirse was used to not being able to sleep. Some nights she didn't sleep more than a few hours, or fell asleep and woke up very early, before the rest of the castle. She'd get up and go out into the quiet common room and read, or work on her studies, in the odd, middle of the night world that seemed more friendly sometimes than day.
She felt exhausted though, and she knew today was going to be another long day. Some tea, maybe, at breakfast might pick her up, but for now she just wanted quiet and time to walk in the semi-fog along the grounds, the boots she'd had on at the quidditch match still on her feet as she crunched through the snow, hands in her sleeves to keep them warm and her bright hair falling around her face like a shroud.
It was impossible to not feel something for this, she thought. And she wasn't sure what to say to Eric, other than I'm sorry, and somehow that was woefully inadequate. But still, she wanted to see him, to talk to him like they talked on patrol sometimes. Just to be... before the day started up again.
When she reached the snow covered outlines of the Professor's garden, she stopped and leaned against the wooden fence, her eyes focused on the trees of the forest. |

| Hogmanay: Saoirse and Eric Style |
[Jan. 1st, 2009|05:58 pm] |
Saoirse wasn't one hundred percent certain whether having the MacMillans here for the night was a good or a bad thing, particularly as she wasn't certain any of them other than Eric (and really maybe he was just being polite) were actually glad to be here. Certainly she imagined his mother wasn't when her own mother cornered her, and there were some cousins here and Eoghan and two of his friends (they were in Ravenclaw and she couldn't remember their names, really, was she expected to know EVERYTHING?) were here to help keep the sisters entertained. A small knot of men had formed around Eric's father, and she was certain her mother was delighted about that... the potential Minister in their house for New Years? Who cared if he was Progressive? And that left her and Eric.
She dealt with him all the time as Head Boy and had known him really since they started school as much as anyone could know a Hufflepuff, but she was coming to the startling revelation she'd never really talked to him before.
Of course since she'd invited him she couldn't exactly abandon him, particularly since her mother was watching. And so, after some chit-chat and some appetizers, and one glass of champagne, because one wouldn't hurt hopefully, she'd suggested they go up to the roof to see the view. It was either that or wait, awkwardly, for him to ask her to dance, and as she'd told Renee, a part of her was very certain this was not a date, and what if he didn't ask?
The roof was cold, but she'd brought up her wrap. Her wand was downstairs in the wand check, because since a political official was coming in, apparently the Ministry insisted on extra security measures.
"The fireworks are over there," she said. "It's a good show for Muggles. They have a huge party there that goes on all night." |
