Wow, Romeo and Juliet came up on me fast.
Anyway, this is a special heads up to let all of you know that late last night, Lucy chopped off all her hair so that she can be convincingly male to play Mercutio. She did it now so that she could get used to it before the show.
It is VERY short, for a girl, right now, and also a boy's hair style. (She used Albus's hair as her inspiration, for better or for worse.) Outside of rehearsals, she's still all girlified, though. Feel free to have your characters gawk/comment/what have you. And if you've got someone who would've helped her cut it, just say! |

| The fate of Real Magic |

You might have noticed in this week's plot points that the Real Magic folks are officially decamping. ICly, the explanation is that they weren't able to get the concessions out of the Hogwarts administration that they needed, and they gave up on their tv show idea.
I wanted to add a few words about this OOCly. The decision to drop the Real Magic plot was a result of a combination of things, the first being time and the second being mechanics. I was trying to run the plot, but unfortunately I didn't (and still don't) really have the time to devote to it that it needs and still keep up with the rest of the plot, etc. But worse, I feel there were some structural flaws in the mechanics of the plot that would have been very hard to work around even with more time to give it.
Even so, I do almost regret letting it go, but I think it's the best thing for the game not to have something that wasn't quite working hanging around in a confusing unconsidered way.
I'm also very sorry for letting this slide for a while, and I'm especially sorry about any confusion over this plot. Hopefully this clears up any loose ends. But if you have any questions, please let me know :)

Hey all.
I know I've been quiet lately. It's seemed like I've been ill since I started this game, since I was diagnosed with Lyme not long after, and I think my family has been in and out of various illnesses since (yeah, I'm sick again).
Anyway, I've been thinking a lot lately, about time, and how I'm honestly not giving good RP in this game, at least I'm not giving the effort I feel I should. And there are a ton of reasons for that, but in the end, I've decided... I need to step out of the game.
It disappoints me terribly to leave, because I will miss so many things (the Longbottoms especially, in Peter's opinion, and Alban says I can't leave Juno out). But in the end, it is for the best. I'll miss you guys, but I know I will see many of you still on IJ in general.
Oh, and Peter says that Emily's still getting the rest of her Quidditch team even if I'm not around to play it out. He's stubborn that way and deucedly fond of her.

Within BNW, we have a number of characters who are not played. Some of these are younger students who are not open to play. Some are characters that have been played in the past or have never been picked up. This post is meant to serve as a reference on all of these characters. Each character will have a specific thread dedicated to them.
For example, there might be a thread subject 'Scarlett Chase'. Under Scarlett Chase any character who has made specific references to Scarlett Chase can post with any details that might be relevant. An example of relevant information would be your character making a mention of Scarlett being allergic to peanuts. You can either simply write down the facts or provide links if you have access to specific scenes/comments.
Anything that you believe could be useful to other characters and/or players can be posted under the appropriate thread subjects. I will attempt to make thread/subjects for all the characters and then go back and make a directory of it for easy access for future/current players. If you do not see a character that you feel should be listed on here let me know. I will add them to the list. I want to keep this neat so email or IM will work best. I can delete comments as needed.
Characters are currently listed in ABC order. Additions will go to the end of that ABC order. Non-playable adults have not been included in this list. Eventually if there is enough demand, I will create another list for those.

Re: Rhiannon's last entry. I finally got around to, you know, SNEEZING SICKNESS, and she is the day before or so, with...on-the-fritz magic. Those in her classes today, or around her, would have noticed a distinct lack of working magic, or a few weird mishaps, but she wouldn't have told anyone. Except, right now, James (or that was the attempt). And because they only ward ridiculous things that do not need to be warded, idk if this is actually interesting. It will just irritate her a lot.
Other than that! Eimear is sanitizing everything, ever, more than usual. And Tristan is seventeen (and CHLOE'S BDAY, HI).

Hi all!
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be absent for the next two days. My sister's hen's day thing is today (WOOO PAINTBALL!!!!!) and I don't know that I'll have access to a computer at all. I've got about an hour until I have to leave so I'll try and catch up on what I have to.
As for my characters, Louis will prolly still be in the hospital wing? or leaving it idk...; Bar will be... um... yeah; Alex will be doing his own thing since i don't think he works on the weekends; Jareth will enjoy his party (because damnit I say so) and then after that he can go on being moody.

Libby has gone off to actually do what she said she wanted to do (that is, slide down the stairs on trays), and she won't be checking her journal and responding to people until after, so I thought I'd just post quickly OOC in case anyone wanted to do anything in person, like join in without advertising it on the journals, or be responsible and try to stop it because it's dangerous/against the rules/etc. If anyone prefect-like did say to stop, Libby would (eventually -- she'd probably argue a lot), though she'd be really grumpy about it.
Hmm. If she gets in trouble, I guess it wouldn't work to take points, though... |

| Two things |

1) Just a point of clarification -- I know I asked people to ask about major illnesses and injuries, but if you want to have your character get the Sneezing Sickness, no need to ask! Unless you want to have an atypical case, or an especially serious case, then it's probably best to ask. It's going around, it's usually not horribly serious but it is pretty annoying -- and it spreads fairly easily, so anyone really could get it this week.
2) Mentors for muggles and squibs are going to switch soon. If you would like your character to be in the next round of mentors could you please comment here? Please comment even if your character is already a mentor so we know you're still interested, and new mentors are also definitely welcome.

Rachel is being a dork and playing hide-and-seek with Rhys on Sunday morning (she Can't Put Down her CoMC textbook). Her plan is to hollow out one of the giant pumpkins behind the groundskeeper's house (which is still much like Hagrid's was, I'm assuming?) then curl up inside with her textbook. It will be distinguishable from the other pumpkins because she'll need Lumos to read, so perhaps a faint glowing from the crack between the two halves could be visible.
So if your character wants to play Where In The World Is Carmine Sandiego (or Rachel Sloper) and help Rhys track her down (or alternatively, lead him astray), let us know! She's already told him she won't go anywhere he won't have access to, which rules out the girls dorms and their bathrooms.
Also - I will be looking to do Amara stuff later! So people I've spoken to, expect emails from me soon. |

So, how long have I been in this game?
Almost ten months.
Well, almost ten months later, I, Meg, player of Lucy Weasley, have picked up a second character. Took me long enough, right?
Anyway, this is Sean Campbell, sixth year Gryffindor. He's also a Keeper on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. What is he like? As I said to Emily, he is a failboat. He's a Muggleborn and spent most of his early childhood being the weirdo (and being encouraged to 'be himself'). As a result, he has very poor social skills but he talks. A lot. He talks more than anybody would ever want to hear. He likes math and logic, but he's very outgoing and weirdly not afraid to put himself out there.
He's especially hopeless with girls. He used to have a huge crush on Charlotte Macmillan (Charlotte, I apologise), and embarrassed himself horribly trying out for Midsummer last year. Thankfully, I think the humiliation stoppered that. But he still is terrified of her. And pretty much every attractive girl he doesn't know well.
Anyway, what he needs is friends. Please. Befriend this poor soul.

The trouble with being Lucy Weasley: Charms Expert is that sometimes, your experiments in charming go exceptionally well. Other times, they really, really do not. So, today, after taking one of the Squeaky Voice Mints, Lucy, absolutely horrified at sounding like one of the Chipmunks, decided to try and fix her vocal chords herself. Except... well, that didn't go so well. She actually vanished her vocal chords and is physically alright (as far as I can tell, they aren't absolutely necessary for survival), but mute. No sound is coming out of her right now.
She's tried to bring them back to no avail, but she still ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to go to Madam Pomfrey. Mostly because she doesn't want to get yelled at. Or admit defeat. She's just writing notes on a notepad. So, tomorrow, can someone volunteer to drag her up there to get them back? I imagine she'll still be squeaky-voiced. Just rub some salt in it, why don't you! |

Hi! This is Megan, and this is my fifth character (it took me over a year, but I finally hit the limit!), Anthony "Ace" Boot. He's a Ravenclaw alum (class of 2020), older brother of Gen and Clare, a former prefect and Chaser on the house team, and currently in his fourth year of training as a Healer.
His five descriptive words: detail-oriented, disciplined, headstrong, compassionate, and engaged. Being condescended to or fussed over is the quickest way to raise his ire.
Ace is most likely remembered (by those at Hogwarts at the time, and by anyone who heard the cautionary tale after the fact) for having struggled with anorexia and compulsive exercising during his later school years, and he was taken out of school to go into inpatient treatment during the last part of his sixth year. He returned to Hogwarts for his seventh year but didn't return to Quidditch; he had long wanted to play professionally and still harbors some resentment over having lost that opportunity.
