and there are times when i feel improved upon the past.i'll keep this relatively short, mostly because i have updated here and there so my life hasn't completely revolutionized and changed out of nowhere. i'm completely addicted to "the fame monster" since i bought it on black friday, and i really love this cd to death; lady gaga is my guilty pleasure that i am perfectly okay saying i adore her in public! i have to go christmas shopping today before i head off to class, and i know i am going to wrack up a terribly long bill because i have to purchase assasin's creed for my brother, a new ipod for my father, and this computer game for my sister to learn addition and all that jazz for young kids. i honestly could write out an extensive list of things i want to purchase for myself, but i feel like my family deserves these gifts more than i deserve to pamper myself. my mom told me the other evening that i need to spoil myself more often, but really, i think i have had that princess treatment for 18 years that other people are in better need for this money. i am going to make a donation to the make yourself foundation, and try to schedule a visit to the homeless shelter to do the toys for tots. i always participate every year, but this year i have a feeling i am going to do something much more extravagant, much more exciting.. much more grandiose for the universe.
i am pretty sure i have nothing else of importance to mention except feel free to chat with me on aim at gaga bless you and enjoy this update of over ( 70 photos! ) i've been reading my friends page intensively since i got my laptop back for good yesterday morning, so expect plenty of comments in return!
oh, and since i'm in the questioning mood, i want absolutely everyone who comes across this question to answer! what are you looking forward to most about the holidays? what about the new year?

This is one clip my AI professor showed during class.
The robot is soooo creepy looking! It's like two people stuck in the machine, one facing forward, the other backward! Or like goats... Bottom half, of course.
It is so impressive.
It apparently has no visual sensors, but since Boston Dynamics made it, they're not big on secrets of manufacturing.

Back home! I stupidly forgot my glasses, contacts solution and contacts case in my dorm room (had to buy new of the last two! GRRR, lost money). I've been wearing contacts about 12 hrs/day since Wednesday and getting monster headaches, so that's why I avoided my LJ/IJ and FB and other sites.</i> Well, essentially looking at my laptop. I used it briefly for listening to music or having hulu episodes playing in the background while studying. Even studying and reading were hard on my eyes.
Sorry if I've missed a lot of milestones or fun times or bad times in your life during my incommunicado days! *hugs to all!*
The bus was suppose to leave Midway at 4:30pm but ended up arriving at 5:15pm and leaving at 5:30pm. Then we had to detour to O'Hare to pick up overflow there so I got back to campus around an hour and a half later than expected. I shouldn't have been surprised, really.
Following is my list of gratitudes since Tuesday, which is kind of a list of some things I did each day, too.

"This is the one." The universe assures me from behind the counter.
"But I thought you said the last one was the one." I reply.
"No." Says the universe. "I sold you that one so you would know that this, this is the one."
"Is there another one?" I ask the universe.
"I can't tell you." They reply. "It'd ruin the surprise."

Sunday 1. Had a good break from studying and reading articles with pizza and buffalo wing dinner with all my girls! 2. Making headway in the writing of one of my final research papers 3. Asking for help with some computer science I was struggling with 4. Entering Amazon.com's Disney Sweepstakes properly, which is kind of bad because it means I didn't enter previous Sweepstakes as I had thought. >_< 5. Intersections between TV episodes and lessons/topics from class -- always nice to see how things in class relate to real life 6. Cleaning my room again, in preparation for a friend's visit this week 7. David Boreanz isn't such a bad actor, after all. (Watched him in Bones and Angel.)

i am home on thanksgiving break, two days in and i already have too much time to sit around and read/think. i read this essay in one of the books lying around my house about what i would accomplish if i knew i could never fail. the list was large, but the items were small things that could be achieved easily, i've just never gotten around to it. looking at this list, i feel extremely pathetic. i mean, what the hell is holding me back? i am a poor man's version of myself. i plan trips but never take them, i buy the guitar but never learn, i buy books but never read them, i buy clothes i never wear, i create plotlines and characters for novels that i never finish writing, i have feelings but never act on them. i don't have enough time to do things i want, scratch that - i don't make time. i am only nineteen but i feel like i've gotten nothing done in my life. i haven't been truly happy with myself since 2005. from now on - i start finishing what i begin.
