More Info on the Island
The boat will be docked on the island from April 22nd(Earth Day) for one calendar month. Don't worry, it's not like "the others" on Lost, or anything. ^_~ For now we can just have some excitement for the characters to be on the island. If anyone has binoculars, or goes exploring around the island, they'll be able to see that it's a rather small island, with a small mountain on top of it. It's not volcanic, and it's covered in dense greenery. Some birds may be seen up above the island, and other creatures inhabit the forest. There are beautiful coral reefs off to one side, and tons of tropical fish all around the island. Great for fishing.
Characters will be able to leave the ship to explore the island, or return to the ship whenever they like. The island is completely uninhabited by humans and has never been inhabited, though there are plenty of flora and fauna to hopefully keep the characters' interests. They will find: -tropical fruits and vegetables -wild, sea-loving birds -a small, dense forest with lots of hanging vines, rich trees and shrubbery -wild animals of many varieties to hunt/chase/tame/enjoy -a small system of caves surrounding a freshwater spring (with a beautiful waterfall)
The ship will remain docked at the port for one calendar month. Though, the characters in-game will not know how long the ship is going to remain at the island. Characters can travel back and forth from the ship to the land simply by walking along the dock, up a brief set of planks, and through a doorway on the side of the ship. It takes you straight to the restaurant level.
Every staff member of the ship will have a different story about what the island is, and/or the history of the island. There is no correct answer, nor is there an incorrect answer. But every waiter, maid, bartender, etc. will have stories to tell about there being buried treasure, or haunted buildings on the island. Feel free to ad-lib a conversation between your character and a waitress/bartender/clerk/soda shop employee/etc. about the island.
