Both Sirius and James get far too drunk for their own good. Sirius and Julianne also have a long conversation where Sirius confessed being a vigilante.
James and Lily mend things over with the help of a kitten, and with Peter letting everyone know he's alive, the gang seems put back together again. Of course, Peter is starting to look a bit more prone to defect.
Jacqueline also speaks to Rodolphus regarding taking another part in the war beyond what the average purist lady has done. Regulus is lectured to take on his role as an heir, and acquire a wife. Meaghan is told how to be a woman -- through books mailed by purists, although she returns them kindly (albeit charred).
Agnes frightens Severus completely by telling him she's pregnant, but only to get his head out of his arse.
Regulus is nervous about speaking to Julianne's father about marriage, but the two have a sweet conversation.
The discussions about the masquerade (ranging from lighthearted to serious business among the Order) are quickly put at a standstill when Tabitha Pryce kidnaps three Muggle children. She allows people to ask twenty questions, many of which are wasted away by Marius Lestrange asking things like 'Do any of them like the color yellow?'. The DMLE gets on top of things as best they can. The Order also goes to help.
The next day there are two children still to be found, and the moon is steadily coming. Both Rufus and Carlotta make sure that the purists (especially those who were kept out of wards before) know that they also have an obligation. Both Astra and Claudette are shaken up. Higgs demands that everyone be back by nightfall and not try to go after werewolves at the full moon.
Fenrir laughs about the children running like rabbits, but not everyone has given up.
Fenrir sends several presents to the occupants (or former occupants) of Godric's Hollow.
Employees in the Ministry of Magic start feeling ill. Hestia gives some good advice, and the Order also continues to speak about their plan for Halloween.
Apparently the sickness is not just limited to the Ministry. The floo system is also on the fritz. Several people run into problems, and Veronica Parkinson ends up lost in a field before the problem is taken care of.
Rodolphus makes sure that no one else talks to Sirius Black and Jacqueline worries that Julianne will be in trouble.
Marius gets permission to do some revenge. His method is a frightening one -- setting fiendfyre to Godric's Hollow Village. Thankfully Marlene and the other occupants (and puppies!) of the Potter home are notified in time to get away to safety, but not after many Muggle lives are lost.
Pepper gives everyone an update and manages to infuriate a few members of the Order at the same time. However, his intention to do a good turn doesn't go unpunished as his journal is repeatedly tagged. Thankfully he isn't fired.
Those who lived at Godric's Hollow are certain this was aimed at them, but they can't do much more besides prepare for the masquerade.
The Masquerade is the society event of the year so far, and is full of dancing, and also the planting of portkeys carefully prepared by the Order. Regulus prepares by going to visit Bellatrix first.
At one o'clock there is the de-masking, and those who had portkeys planted on them are immediately transported to Cregduff. The plan goes mostly without a hitch, leaving a large number of people concerned when their escorts and friends disappear.
The Order starts celebrating even when Agnes, Meg, and Lily are still at Mungo's. Meanwhile Senior sends out form letters to inform the nearest of kin of those arrested in Cregduff. He is jubilant.
